And I do always like to try natural deoderants- even though they usually don't work out for me. <p></p><p style="text-align: center;">This one has very unique packaging. It's a tube- like a tube of lotion, with a squeeze top you can use to apply the deodorant. Very unique packaging. And seems to contain a lot more than drugstore deodorants because the tube is pretty full. There is a full 3 ounces in it.</p><p style="text-align: center;">The first thing I noticed was the scent. I really dislike the scent. It's tea tree. Smells very medical. Kinda reminiscent of the The Body Shop tea tree skincare line. I think I usually like the tea tree scent but not in something I am using everyday and not in this.</p><p style="text-align: center;">I could probably be more accepting of the scent if it worked. It does not work. It doesn't work at all. I use it on days I don't leave the house...but will still play my dancing games/workout and it's not good. </p><p style="text-align: center;">It is supposed to have skincare in it, like niacinamide, lactic acid, and mandelic acid. That wasn't a selling point for me because I don't care what my armpits look like. I think they do look a little better though when I went to go look. Just smoother and a bit more even in color.</p><p style="text-align: center;">I have noticed this does sting every one in awhile. </p><p style="text-align: center;">I do like the ingredients though...just wished they were an actual deodorant instead of mostly skincare.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Ingredients: </p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: sofia-pro, "Trebuchet MS", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">Water, <span style="color: #ffa400;">Tapioca (Manihot Esculenta) Starch,</span> Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Isoamyl Laurate, <span style="color: #ffa400;"><b>Lactic Acid,</b></span> Triethyl Citrate, <span style="color: #ffa400;"><b>Saccharomyces Ferment</b></span>, Cetearyl Alcohol, Propanediol, Behenyl Alcohol, <span style="color: #ffa400;"><b>Mandelic Acid, </b></span>Cetearyl Olivate, Glyceryl Stearate, Sorbitan Olivate, <span style="color: #ffa400;"><b>Hydrated Silica, Niacinamide, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Squalane, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Glycerin, Eucalyptus Radiata Flower/Leaf/Stem Oil,</b></span> Xylityl Sesquicaprylate,<span style="color: #ffa400;"><b> Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, </b></span>Sodium Hydroxide, Hydroxyacetophenone,<span style="color: #ffa400;"><b> Silica,</b></span> Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Anhydroxylitol, <span style="color: #ffa400;"><b>Eucalyptol, Menthol,</b></span> Menthone, Isomenthone, Hydrogenated Olive Oil Unsaponifiables, <span style="color: #ffa400;"><b>Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice.</b></span></span></p><p style="text-align: center;">Overall, not something I would purchase again. I don't like fudge which is probably the main reason for the procrastination but I'm gonna make it anyway. If I really don't like it, I might just give it away. But back to the post- I have been stockpiling leave in conditioners and have a backlog of ones I'm trying out. I'm not using any protein or strengthening products at the moment so figured this was a good time to try this one. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #38761d;"><b><br /></b></span></p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #38761d;"><b>Mielle claims:</b></span></p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Futura, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.6em; margin: 0px 0px 15px;"><span style="color: #38761d;"><b>Infused with Biotin and Rosemary, this leave-in hydrates while protecting and moisturizing.<br style="box-sizing: border-box;" /></b></span></p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Futura, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.6em; margin: 0px 0px 15px;"><strong style="box-sizing: border-box;"><span style="color: #38761d;">Key Benefits:</span></strong></p><ul style="box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Futura, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; list-style-image: initial; list-style-position: outside; margin: 4px 0px 5px 30px; padding: 0px;"><li style="box-sizing: border-box; margin-bottom: 6px;"><span style="color: #38761d;"><b>Infused with biotin</b></span></li><li style="box-sizing: border-box; margin-bottom: 6px;"><span style="color: #38761d;"><b>Amazing shine</b></span></li><li style="box-sizing: border-box; margin-bottom: 6px;"><span style="color: #38761d;"><b>Locks in moisture</b></span></li></ul><p style="box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Futura, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.6em; margin: 0px 0px 15px;"><strong style="box-sizing: border-box;"><span style="color: #38761d;"> 12 fl oz | Made For All Hair Types</span></strong></p><p style="text-align: center;">I tried this brand once before when I bought their deep conditioner, it's one of my favorite deep conditioners so naturally wanted to try more. Rosemary and Mint seems to be an ever popular hair care blend, I was a little wary of the scent but I actually really like it. It does smell like both Rosemary and light mint but there is something perfum-y to it that's not that strong which makes it pleasant. The scent doesn't stick around long anyway though. It's there when you use it and then dissipates. </p><p style="text-align: center;">The texture is just like any other conditioner or leave in. A light cream texture. It spreads easily and I don't feel I need a lot. I like that it doesn't turn my hair white and I can layer other things over top of it without my hair flaking or any other issue that layering products can sometimes cause.</p><p style="text-align: center;">It does seems to add a little bit of moisture but doesn't feel heavy or greasy or make my hair feel coated. </p><p style="text-align: center;">As for claims of strength, I have been using it for a few months now and did the snap test on my hair to see how easy it stretches and breaks and based on that, I don't think it added any strength. </p><p style="text-align: center;">Ingredients:</p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="background-color: white; font-family: Futura, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: left;">Water, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, <span style="color: #38761d;"><b>Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil,</b></span> Cetyl Alcohol, Triethyl Citrate, <span style="color: #38761d;"><b>Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Fragrance, Biotin, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, </b></span>Ceteareth-20,<span style="color: #38761d;"><b> Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Oil, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, </b></span>Propylene Glycol, <span style="color: #38761d;"><b>Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit/Leaf Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, </b></span>Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Polysorbate 20</span><span style="text-align: start;">I</span></p><p style="text-align: center;">Overall, it's not a bad leave-in. So here is my next batch of recipe. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtDxrNbkZgWh8Jb3KgFxQSF96SFLDnX1UnCjRXiI44VaE0d-b_Dmvs7EDI6O4RivhaGM96ufe-F19DaxCkkVt6agXoihbaoo_Q0jHqfvGxDTxbkf-i3rhDek7Ufg-kZ3FYDsfhMw9psMkAJmKwP26YWQlgmBpS7BsIHgxjKiMiNi25ArTgUaacV15K3ig/s2459/IMG_8956.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2427" data-original-width="2459" height="316" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtDxrNbkZgWh8Jb3KgFxQSF96SFLDnX1UnCjRXiI44VaE0d-b_Dmvs7EDI6O4RivhaGM96ufe-F19DaxCkkVt6agXoihbaoo_Q0jHqfvGxDTxbkf-i3rhDek7Ufg-kZ3FYDsfhMw9psMkAJmKwP26YWQlgmBpS7BsIHgxjKiMiNi25ArTgUaacV15K3ig/s320/IMG_8956.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;">I made some Wild Rice Soup a couple days ago. It was very easy and surprisingly good. I couldn't find the recipe posted online otherwise I would link it. It does have mushroom- and usually I really dislike mushrooms but it really added something to the soup. Basically this soup is mushroom and onions sautéed, with almonds, shredded chicken (the Vitamix shredded the chicken perfectly) and a few other things I can't remember. I subbed milk and cream for the the half and half. Soup looks kinda nasty but it was good. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHnF6LfAxlRGjppF0-orpbjPyGyoBv_vLhhyphenhyphenWp_Df4xDE9F-f3jdyVpvEExaYDhzfS76ioGhXSlwDepWcHg5LMxwmAt_i632Vq9Mm1CnSdSzsmp4d2y7W2ZcQ1QA1AVUcHL6MfbBZKfoSQ2Ncjfa0wVCBNq85x8A3GLy8muVoVQ89ePO5tntq-PJFolRY/s2259/IMG_8936.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2190" data-original-width="2259" height="310" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHnF6LfAxlRGjppF0-orpbjPyGyoBv_vLhhyphenhyphenWp_Df4xDE9F-f3jdyVpvEExaYDhzfS76ioGhXSlwDepWcHg5LMxwmAt_i632Vq9Mm1CnSdSzsmp4d2y7W2ZcQ1QA1AVUcHL6MfbBZKfoSQ2Ncjfa0wVCBNq85x8A3GLy8muVoVQ89ePO5tntq-PJFolRY/s320/IMG_8936.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;">Next up- chicken and waffles. I had my first dinner party and decided to do chicken and waffles. I used a <a href="https://preppykitchen.com/belgian-waffles/">Belgian Waffle recipe</a> I had made before- it's my favorite waffle recipe. They are easy to make- they just dirty a lot of bowls. And then I used the fried chicken recipe from a c<a href="https://spicysouthernkitchen.com/honey-chipotle-chicken-crispers/">opycat Chili's recipe. </a> It's the best chicken tender recipe ever, I highly recommend it. And then I made a quick hot maple syrup by adding gochuchang and hot sauce and letting it heat up for awhile. Yum! I wish I had another plate but I definitely won't be making it again anytime soon.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3l5vhCY7_tJzsvM-kuhnE-VAZLHJUpgT0s90Iqi17JdZ83pKYBDwe8h4T4bjXFfV7dJSouDjKljR30i-50i356I_HmMfPvyk0NEPhk-AZFN4ZgNWQLgEKz1ZxXlVljzza8bYJGiXZLZpaZPEmuGVTrMc2U6yE4HcAq7yquvKfjmh6hXQU_Tz8e3FtO0k/s2537/IMG_8929.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2371" data-original-width="2537" height="299" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3l5vhCY7_tJzsvM-kuhnE-VAZLHJUpgT0s90Iqi17JdZ83pKYBDwe8h4T4bjXFfV7dJSouDjKljR30i-50i356I_HmMfPvyk0NEPhk-AZFN4ZgNWQLgEKz1ZxXlVljzza8bYJGiXZLZpaZPEmuGVTrMc2U6yE4HcAq7yquvKfjmh6hXQU_Tz8e3FtO0k/s320/IMG_8929.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><p style="text-align: center;">Last up, a <a href="https://www.wellplated.com/chicken-stir-fry-with-thai-peanut-sauce/">Chicken Stir Fry with Thai Peanut Sauce.</a> I LOVED this recipe. I don't think I quite measured it right so mine had a lot more sauce but I think it came out perfect. I did sub some stuff, I used gochuchang in the peanut sauce and probably left out and switched a few more things. It really was perfect though. Would definitely make this one again! I made brown rice to go with it although I do think noodles would do nicely.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRkuzYxYQDDwkvlP_hCYp-ZnBB7IB9qk39ZotHW-W6U72ufqRZrwRiHf57zYsiDfRx7UtcKTJZeB4n_nmAwx_vRlWU7VhH8fjr3w77Pk_19eqplO3zMkpTlbdg8r_ST-8wAeeTkUljUoFSL6zzOg2Ju9x_r-zsLx7J36-fos-DgzMXKWUJ9prVdfVhqhQ/s3395/IMG_8960.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3395" data-original-width="1654" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRkuzYxYQDDwkvlP_hCYp-ZnBB7IB9qk39ZotHW-W6U72ufqRZrwRiHf57zYsiDfRx7UtcKTJZeB4n_nmAwx_vRlWU7VhH8fjr3w77Pk_19eqplO3zMkpTlbdg8r_ST-8wAeeTkUljUoFSL6zzOg2Ju9x_r-zsLx7J36-fos-DgzMXKWUJ9prVdfVhqhQ/w98-h200/IMG_8960.jpeg" width="98" /></a></div><p style="text-align: center;">Random- Social Media made me buy Kewpie Mayo- I was surprised to see this one was made in the USA. And I do have to admit I think I like one wick candles better. They seem to last so much longer and since these candles are a bit more on the pricy side I definitely want them to last as long as possible. If I like the scent. </p><p style="text-align: center;">I thought based on cold sniff this would be a scent I really like. But it's not my candle style. I love a moody, nighttime scent. Or daytime florals. There are exceptions to those rules but..rarely. This is a nice scent. It definitely smells like hot tea with some citrus and herbs in it. It's a nice smelling candle...but it smells like something you would light in the kitchen or in the bathroom after cleaning. It doesn't quite fit in with lighting at night and reading a book or binging a show on Netflix. It's just too daytime. It doesn't quite fit for me. </p><p style="text-align: center;">It's not a powerhouse candle but I can smell it, it's very noticeable when lit. I like that it isn't overpowering- nor does it ever induce headaches. </p><p style="text-align: center;">It's a nice large candle...one wick. Doesn't seem to have too much trouble burning to the edges. The wick is extra thick. And it does have the tendency to smoke and soot after awhile so you have to be careful. There are some candles that burn cleanly no matter how long you leave it and this is not one of them. I have had it smoke quite a bit so I really do need to so a better job of watching it and sticking to that four hour (often times less) burn time to minimize the smoke and soot.</p><p style="text-align: center;">The packaging as always is nice. The candles always come in a nice box and cute glass jar. While I like the packaging, it's not one that I will feel the need to hoard once the jar is empty. </p><p style="text-align: center;">Overall, if you like tea scents- or daytime scents then this might be the candle for you. My favorite by the brand is still the Josephine candle. This was nice but just not a repurchase for me.</p>Roxyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05475559911394028061noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2921756254052088978.post-10593931246376594692024-03-10T11:29:00.001-04:002024-03-10T11:29:35.953-04:00L'occitane Dry Skin Shea Butter Hand Cream Review <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhF5G5kVlrVU1FYtAqZ4x_6wdnQkVVySwdDesYFVJV2vuXYKLKHjgwQTonuLGPp0dF6xDeQAPx9ttR7mwoOzBWwa3PbwZTBhV1J9C_u6ta61ZPgQoAd5GqX5QlRgfPuB6MT_rWWy1BoooW_Y8Qhz53B1hjHLF4Qhci0GPWR5HDXL9TwHKOz1pRSfyNv29o/s3454/IMG_8946.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3454" data-original-width="1530" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhF5G5kVlrVU1FYtAqZ4x_6wdnQkVVySwdDesYFVJV2vuXYKLKHjgwQTonuLGPp0dF6xDeQAPx9ttR7mwoOzBWwa3PbwZTBhV1J9C_u6ta61ZPgQoAd5GqX5QlRgfPuB6MT_rWWy1BoooW_Y8Qhz53B1hjHLF4Qhci0GPWR5HDXL9TwHKOz1pRSfyNv29o/s320/IMG_8946.jpeg" width="142" /></a></div><p style="text-align: center;">One more post and then I am done for the day. It smells nice. Almost smells like something you would use on a baby. Like baby wipes or something. The scent is mild and I didn't like it much at first but it's grown on me. It's not strong at all, very inoffensive but does linger.</div></span></ul></div><p style="text-align: center;">One thing I like about the brand is that they use Shea Butter and tell you the percentage that's in the product. It's supposed to be fair trade shea butter which I hope it is. I also hope they pay more than a fair wage because their products are pretty pricey and the women that produce Shea Butter more than deserve it.</p><p style="text-align: center;">It comes in a recyclable metal tube. I like the packaging but it is a bit hard to squeeze out as you use more and more up. </p><p style="text-align: center;">As for hydration...eh. If your skin is really dry this doesn't do much for it. If you have normal to slightly dry hands, it works. But the moisture doesn't last long. It's one of those that I feel I have to constantly re-apply. According the the brand they want you to use it every time you wash your hands. I tend to wash my hands a lot so if I did that I would run through this cream pretty quickly. </p><p style="text-align: center;">It does absorb really quickly which is nice. You won't leave greasy spots everywhere. And if you need to type or use a computer you can. I do tend to like a bit of greasiness to a hand cream....but if you don't this might be for you. </p><p style="text-align: center;">One thing I do notice is my nails are doing are staying strong and peeling a lot less. I was using a cuticle oil pretty faithfully but fell off and noticed my nails haven't started splitting and peeling like they usually do. </p><p style="text-align: center;">Ingredients:</p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="background-color: #f7f6f3; caret-color: rgb(0, 16, 34); color: #001022; font-family: LOccitaneSans, system-ui, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, "segoe ui", Roboto, "helvetica neue", Arial, "noto sans", sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: left;">AQUA/WATER - </span><span style="background-color: #f7f6f3; caret-color: rgb(0, 16, 34); font-family: LOccitaneSans, system-ui, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, "segoe ui", Roboto, "helvetica neue", Arial, "noto sans", sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: left;"><span style="color: #0c343d;"><b>BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER - GLYCERIN </b></span></span><span style="background-color: #f7f6f3; caret-color: rgb(0, 16, 34); color: #001022; font-family: LOccitaneSans, system-ui, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, "segoe ui", Roboto, "helvetica neue", Arial, "noto sans", sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: left;">- COCO-CAPRYLATE/CAPRATE - CETEARYL ALCOHOL - GLYCERYL STEARATE - </span><span style="background-color: #f7f6f3; caret-color: rgb(0, 16, 34); font-family: LOccitaneSans, system-ui, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, "segoe ui", Roboto, "helvetica neue", Arial, "noto sans", sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: left;"><span style="color: #0c343d;"><b>BRASSICA CAMPESTRIS (RAPESEED) STEROLS - ARGANIA SPINOSA KERNEL OIL - COCOS NUCIFERA (COCONUT) OIL - HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL </b></span></span><span style="background-color: #f7f6f3; caret-color: rgb(0, 16, 34); color: #001022; font-family: LOccitaneSans, system-ui, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, "segoe ui", Roboto, "helvetica neue", Arial, "noto sans", sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: left;">- PEG-100 STEARATE - HYDROXYETHYL ACRYLATE/SODIUM ACRYLOYLDIMETHYL TAURATE COPOLYMER - CETEARETH-33 - CAPRYLYLYL GLYCOL - ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN - SORBITAN ISOSTEARATE - POLYSORBATE 60 - PENTYLENE GLYCOL - BETA-GLUCAN - TOCOPHEROL - PARFUM/FRANCE - LOOLINAL - CITRONELLOL - ALPHA-ISOMETHYL IONONE - - LIMONENE</span></p><p style="text-align: center;">Overall, it's OK. I know some people wonder how to take care of your period in shows like The Walking Dead etc once all the pads and tampons run out and menstrual cups seem to be the answer. I like them for the most part. They are way messier than tampons and pads. But it's nice that's its re-useable and doesn't sit in a landfill somewhere forever more to rot. </p><p style="text-align: center;">It was time to replace my other cup and I thought I would use something local. This one was the most expensive option in my local store but I liked the color and that it's made in Germany so I bought it anyway. </p><p style="text-align: center;">And ...I wish I didn't.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #800180;"><b><br /></b></span></p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #800180;">Merula claims:</span></p><p style="background-repeat: no-repeat no-repeat; box-sizing: border-box; caret-color: rgb(48, 48, 48); font-family: hind, Arial, sans-serif; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #800180;">This Merula Cup galaxy – in mystical dark purple – fits perfectly in its little pouch full of shiny stars, comets, planets, and a mysterious purple haze that stands before the vastness of the dark-blue universe. I wish they would do a smaller size because although I found my usual brand to be upleasant inserting and taking out...this one is so much worse. And it does not seal like others that have tiny holes in them at the top so I find this one to leak and make a mess most days on top of being painful to use. I have had more leakage and issues with this cup than any other cup.</p><p style="text-align: center;">I really should just throw it out, but I guess I keep it just in case. Even though I would never use this when I am out the house because the chance of it making a mess is really high. </p><p style="text-align: center;">Other than that the marketing is nice, the cup looks nice, it comes in pretty colors and a nice case. Could work for those that need a wider size or larger capacity but a big fat no for me. I already repurchased the Blossom Cup...I might try something else later down the line or just stick with Blossom because I know it works well.</p>Roxyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05475559911394028061noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2921756254052088978.post-35758691074722624892024-03-05T16:44:00.002-05:002024-03-05T16:44:14.969-05:00Plant Therapy Celery Seed Oil Essential Oil Review <p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh24kTm76cWFtPXZekiOaLwdJuvhhDi3ls9OMKEJGEz-ioSgUuf_yayftaTvc9plCSmebI0LujcBZArJEBOyApuzqWZfuTacy_L-dORQ_3mCZU0-MKGNBpfCddIVFk59Eon5eiFwtiBbASOKBWGll8xPCQnC942KYYB-4Ud9TASoIWUJb8fMxZx63KCBQs/s3370/IMG_8922.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3370" data-original-width="1595" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh24kTm76cWFtPXZekiOaLwdJuvhhDi3ls9OMKEJGEz-ioSgUuf_yayftaTvc9plCSmebI0LujcBZArJEBOyApuzqWZfuTacy_L-dORQ_3mCZU0-MKGNBpfCddIVFk59Eon5eiFwtiBbASOKBWGll8xPCQnC942KYYB-4Ud9TASoIWUJb8fMxZx63KCBQs/s320/IMG_8922.jpeg" width="151" /></a></p><p style="text-align: center;"> I just finished a batch of cookie dough and now time to relax. And knock out a quick post. I'm still slowly going through my oils-because I have a ton. And managed to order even more. I have a problem. I was going through them all and decided to get this one out the collection- because celery seed oil is not an essential and one I probably won't have in my collection again.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><b>Plant Therapy claims:</b></span></p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; caret-color: rgb(10, 53, 31); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 18px; text-align: center;"><span style="box-sizing: border-box;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><b>Cultivated for thousands of years, the popular aromatic vegetable Celery is no stranger! Both its fiber-packed stalks and seeds are often added to soups, salads, smoothies, and snacks for an added boost of vitamins and minerals. It is from the steam distillation of the tiny, flavorful seeds that the vibrant, tenacious essential oil is produced. With its warm, herbal, and slightly spicy aroma, Celery Seed Essential Oil provides wonderful support to an upset stomach, especially gut issues related to feelings of stress and nervousness. When used as part of a warm compress or massage blend, this oil can also relax discomfort associated with menstrual cramps and helps to warm and loosen tight, overworked muscles and joints. Diffuse or add to DIY cleaners to enjoy Celery Seed’s general wellness support and to experience a sense of well-being amid emotional tension.</b></span></span></p><p style="text-align: center;">We'll start with the scent. I'm not a fan. It smells like a musty old basement with celery in it. I tried making a room spray with it and it just does not smell pleasant. I have still been using it as a room spray- even though it smells bad just to get rid of it. I just use it in rooms I am not in.</p><p style="text-align: center;">It's supposed to be good for a stress related upset stomach. I don't have that problem much so couldn't test that way.</p><p style="text-align: center;">I don't usually get cramps- but I probably could have tested it Monday because I did start to have that uncomfortable feeling of almost cramps which I always get on the first day of my period but it wasn't too bad and I didn't realize celery seed oil is supposed to be good for that. I think there are better smelling oils that work well for cramps such as Lavender so I wouldn't necessarily buy this for that. </p><p style="text-align: center;">It's also supposed to be good for overworked muscles/joints. But since I don't like the scent I couldn't bring myself to use it on my skin.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Last use would be to diffuse it or use it for cleaning to promote well being amongst emotional tension. I would only expect it to do that if I liked the scent. </p><p style="text-align: center;">Overall, not an oil I enjoyed at all. Definitely not a repurchase. Next one I focus on will be be one I actually like. I have tiny bit left of this one...hopefully it will be gone by the end of the week.</p>Roxyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05475559911394028061noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2921756254052088978.post-40622926663900990302024-03-04T17:33:00.001-05:002024-03-04T17:33:10.843-05:00Lush Dirty Springwash Shower Gel Review <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2swoC812UsnSqWJD6lyR3xmJUWlNM7tWzLUSa9VBSOERggX7gp9vv1pySFrZeAY3CcFQoqur_-ZflhUBP85rcXaxFTJkmV4l7Y-bz9ijognY4ZFScAtW61ADCxqOpwDv9xukeTiWcV4Y6P6Cxgp0-JUdCCLPBa89jd32bR1quDJggN4vypNXjHLYHACc/s3840/IMG_8919.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3840" data-original-width="1773" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2swoC812UsnSqWJD6lyR3xmJUWlNM7tWzLUSa9VBSOERggX7gp9vv1pySFrZeAY3CcFQoqur_-ZflhUBP85rcXaxFTJkmV4l7Y-bz9ijognY4ZFScAtW61ADCxqOpwDv9xukeTiWcV4Y6P6Cxgp0-JUdCCLPBa89jd32bR1quDJggN4vypNXjHLYHACc/s320/IMG_8919.jpeg" width="148" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;"> I am still going through and trying to use up the things my parents left here..including this shower gel. But I think I'm just about back. I didn't make any real recipes unfortunately. Just some soup, biscotti, and popsicles. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.budgetbytes.com/cinnamon-spice-biscotti/">Cinnamon Spice Biscotti</a></p><p style="text-align: center;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnIpe95vZh6sW8x6uyOkx362yBfZ4Q6K0DnhxTt9u-nRCu53WJ_u7cl8zliUUzoPrdzpa-GmTiBFaNgSRpbEDj901XgA5n45SNG36FOapQ2YPukVQpZnk264rOunT8KADoVvFi3UvlPRX-_hel3-J6eVeihiU7IIna7vArtKWPWLDBkBGt_G46HiNLr90/s1876/IMG_8884.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1876" data-original-width="1815" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnIpe95vZh6sW8x6uyOkx362yBfZ4Q6K0DnhxTt9u-nRCu53WJ_u7cl8zliUUzoPrdzpa-GmTiBFaNgSRpbEDj901XgA5n45SNG36FOapQ2YPukVQpZnk264rOunT8KADoVvFi3UvlPRX-_hel3-J6eVeihiU7IIna7vArtKWPWLDBkBGt_G46HiNLr90/s320/IMG_8884.jpeg" width="310" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmSt9jU4swnL17nDmB2RIvoJ3EJdHLDZ0w2w3Gc5tKdLNpMApELgxso8L3Y39KNfl4Ae1GA_OyYhAxQDxEfflA7k7wmocMDGKGbwYouT-HabnaxfBWB0NxIlVpkjIcf851Ksfk8XeWMd72j5agnN2wh6wDOf21dqoh9nqvVMMVuL1C-B8l1XEUuY5E4fw/s3573/IMG_8882.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1700" data-original-width="3573" height="152" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmSt9jU4swnL17nDmB2RIvoJ3EJdHLDZ0w2w3Gc5tKdLNpMApELgxso8L3Y39KNfl4Ae1GA_OyYhAxQDxEfflA7k7wmocMDGKGbwYouT-HabnaxfBWB0NxIlVpkjIcf851Ksfk8XeWMd72j5agnN2wh6wDOf21dqoh9nqvVMMVuL1C-B8l1XEUuY5E4fw/s320/IMG_8882.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>I've made one other recipe of biscotti before and this is definitely the better of two. Make some tea or coffee to go with it and you have the best "snack". It's very easy to make. I halved the recipe as always. This is one I would definitely make again. This would probably make an excellent Christmas gift...<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9NxWcfbP0XirGAyCLU3q1xX7J19p7nEaqhbiqhbqXibomEuYrVkbTTwNzsBVV_nVOpr1dKGEnK_GHgq1ZUpA2IClT02J5D9i0uVrmSaH13ng4o7yr-1vW5dNiViLpbdFXuy1BmdbDShxXGu3TD-I8kk1NC0eDY0j3ozcoSTPSiovyGt7q2mQBW4iWCSI/s2661/IMG_8869.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2580" data-original-width="2661" height="310" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9NxWcfbP0XirGAyCLU3q1xX7J19p7nEaqhbiqhbqXibomEuYrVkbTTwNzsBVV_nVOpr1dKGEnK_GHgq1ZUpA2IClT02J5D9i0uVrmSaH13ng4o7yr-1vW5dNiViLpbdFXuy1BmdbDShxXGu3TD-I8kk1NC0eDY0j3ozcoSTPSiovyGt7q2mQBW4iWCSI/s320/IMG_8869.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Next up Cream of Asparagus Soup...I don't eat much Asparagus. It's not my favorite vegetable but every now and again I make it a point to try and eat. But never in soup form. I wasn't too fond of the soup. I maybe used a bit too much chicken stock...but just not a fan of the flavor anyway. I still have a little left that I need to eat.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">And last up small batch cinnamon rolls. This wasn't in the list for me to make but since I did make a batch of cinnamon rolls to share, I have been seriously craving more. I didn't use the recipe on the vid...I just googled and found one. It only made four cinnamon rolls...which is a win. Although I will say I think I like the big batch recipe better so I might just do that next time and freeze a few since they free so well. I can't wait to eat dinner and so I can warm up another one tonight. I also added pecans to mine....</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLWZFY2eS8ROHoY2MeYVgzHa9k6InvVQBrlV_2cwOZQEGoD7JlZiCCoWwJlo2QAQETnvQCiPkMJfyCyGlvTWCC3kz3sOWqPIWq_NO-XQtoEpPnrvo-atguM0T7xzS9y-r3qLrKzENrgG7u1ppGzEn9PBqSRuRDRiTZMcuKfe2I-0TQNorp5wkokXHc6Vw/s3052/IMG_8904.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3052" data-original-width="3024" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLWZFY2eS8ROHoY2MeYVgzHa9k6InvVQBrlV_2cwOZQEGoD7JlZiCCoWwJlo2QAQETnvQCiPkMJfyCyGlvTWCC3kz3sOWqPIWq_NO-XQtoEpPnrvo-atguM0T7xzS9y-r3qLrKzENrgG7u1ppGzEn9PBqSRuRDRiTZMcuKfe2I-0TQNorp5wkokXHc6Vw/s320/IMG_8904.jpeg" width="317" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_2imCKwz4Qvgqpkgoz3l77t98-qwpb7QusOc2W98REvYALcIZUoohvj7LzoB1sAeUMussiO-ADmDiecojqoMnv0dEbPWXOdFdvtPnh_dhKHnpuNrKO0GQlLOcNuEwMThmelWaIKt9kv8ZCbiOPMYUjkBDH9C7-2Vlo3SisTrnj51wW98eKedHlV3WTs0/s2658/IMG_8910.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2658" data-original-width="2613" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_2imCKwz4Qvgqpkgoz3l77t98-qwpb7QusOc2W98REvYALcIZUoohvj7LzoB1sAeUMussiO-ADmDiecojqoMnv0dEbPWXOdFdvtPnh_dhKHnpuNrKO0GQlLOcNuEwMThmelWaIKt9kv8ZCbiOPMYUjkBDH9C7-2Vlo3SisTrnj51wW98eKedHlV3WTs0/s320/IMG_8910.jpeg" width="315" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">And that's all for now, hopefully I can keep up the momentum of trying new recipes again because I lost my mojo just a little...but I'm slowly swinging back into it.</div><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p>Roxyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05475559911394028061noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2921756254052088978.post-53805107170140638022024-02-29T17:24:00.002-05:002024-02-29T17:24:41.556-05:00Mario Badescu Facial Stay with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater Review <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEYACaH14EwBszig7NGjM5CcLOjQRdy66S09scIyqV0HB2v1vyixfNKjA5HGKovm7WzKerUTync2Zc6DeqQgnM2SIeFNDPiErMdOKbitfyDIf8InVl2qwFWHXvdJFV1fifSsfuXXS_PnvCdcCDeovb6BWzbe2fSapcuxtG_EzLLnmGvDFVO4MklQtSGGw/s3874/IMG_8896.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3874" data-original-width="1599" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEYACaH14EwBszig7NGjM5CcLOjQRdy66S09scIyqV0HB2v1vyixfNKjA5HGKovm7WzKerUTync2Zc6DeqQgnM2SIeFNDPiErMdOKbitfyDIf8InVl2qwFWHXvdJFV1fifSsfuXXS_PnvCdcCDeovb6BWzbe2fSapcuxtG_EzLLnmGvDFVO4MklQtSGGw/s320/IMG_8896.jpeg" width="132" /></a></div><p style="text-align: center;">It's kinda crazy that I bought this spray knowing I have two MAC Fix Plus Sprays and another Lavender spray that I need to use up. I thought it was a more natural brand. and was disappointed to find it's not. I really should have read the ingredients first. I mostly just use it to add a boost of hydration when I am in a rush and don't want to apply a heavy moisturizer. </p><p style="text-align: center;">I was expecting this spray to have a nice rose scent. It smells like rose baby wipes. Light on the rose. </p><p style="text-align: center;">It does add a bit of hydration. My skin isn't really dry these days...which is surprising. I used to have dry skin in the winter...but I think since I switched to more natural cleansers I don't seem have that problem much anymore. </p><p style="text-align: center;">It's easy to use and spray but I think the nozzle on mine only sprays one side....It's not really a fine mist. I think Lush makes better and more natural ones. And I also think using pure rosewater is a great option to skip some of the additives and fillers that don't really have any skin benefits. I also just don't think it does anything special to make it a must try or repurchase. </p>Roxyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05475559911394028061noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2921756254052088978.post-46480556979980849662024-02-28T16:21:00.004-05:002024-02-28T16:21:54.718-05:00Harlem Candle Co. I found out Macy's was having a sale and ordered quite a few candles. That way I would be set for awhile. And I am set for the next couple of months. So as much as I want to keep shopping for candles...I can't. At least until I burn through a couple more.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Harlem Candles claims:</p><p class="c-small-font c-margin-bottom-2v description" data-auto="product-description" itemprop="description" style="box-sizing: inherit; font-family: "Macys Sans", "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; margin: 0px 0px 0.5rem; padding: 0px;">Celebrate glamour with this sophisticated creation from Harlem Candle Co. The luxury candle features lush floral fragrance accented with sensual sandalwood and musk.</p><ul class="c-small-font c-margin-bottom-4v bullets-section" data-auto="product-description-bullets" style="box-sizing: inherit; font-family: "Macys Sans", "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 1rem; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0.5rem;"><li style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">Approx. dimensions: 3.25" diameter x 4"H</li><li style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">Approx. weight: 12 oz.</li><li style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">Scent notes: Mandarin, green apple, juicy pear, lush jasmine petals, sensual sandalwood, and golden musk</li><li style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">WARNING - Burn candle within sight. Keep away from combustibles/Keep away from things that can catch fire</li><li style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">Warning: Keep away from children and pets</li><li style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">Black Owned, Woman Owned</li><li style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">Soy wax</li><li style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">Made in USA</li></ul><p style="text-align: center;">As far as I can tell this seems to be a Macy's exclusive. The scent is supposed to be Jasmine and Pear Blossom. Usually I am a sucker for a Jasmine scent...and I thought I would love this when I first got it and sniffed it cold. Now that I have burned it a few times...I don't really like the scent. I don't get Jasmine at all. I couldn't tell you what Pear Blossom smells like, but it doesn't smell like pear either. There is nothing sandalwood or musky about it. It smells like a generic sour fruit. I think it smells like something you can get at Bath and Body Works. And that's hard for me to say because I love the brand. I just don't love this candle. </p><p style="text-align: center;">I have it burning now...but mostly I try to stick to burning it while I work. It's more of a daytime- summer or spring scent. </p><p style="text-align: center;">Other than that the jar is very pretty. The candle burns pretty well....except it does have tendency to smoke if you burn it too long. And it's also a fast burner. I notice that compared to a lot of other candles and especially one wick candles- it burns very quickly. </p><p style="text-align: center;">It is supposed to be soy wax. More likely a soy wax blend. Not sure what else it might be mixed with but I've had pure soy candles and they usually burn just a bit cleaner. </p><p style="text-align: center;">The scent strength is great though. It usually drifts from whatever room I have it in to the hallway. </p><p style="text-align: center;">Overall, this is probably my least favorite Harlem Candle Co. candle. I do still love the brand (it's black owned which is a huge plus!) so I am definitely going to keep trying them out.</p>Roxyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05475559911394028061noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2921756254052088978.post-24932371371817059802024-02-27T16:22:00.000-05:002024-02-27T16:22:00.696-05:00Aussie Total Miracle 7 n 1 Shampoo and Conditioner Review <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijf61KGiU1pnxlJvh08-lobPbo9nuJJ0bf36Z8zyUPpnMIVjpuHLFpBVkcUaMkB7ka6oo_xnGtj_a_SG_6eXA11IgbXgUfHaYVJA4LIRqb41uDL8Bt4kVebnNA3xqFArCIa3UUhHo-8gxaASCnBSHTT54h4ziBj7-JGMlK18PSDbIqsNHYun1bLguklr4/s3284/IMG_8887.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3284" data-original-width="2636" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijf61KGiU1pnxlJvh08-lobPbo9nuJJ0bf36Z8zyUPpnMIVjpuHLFpBVkcUaMkB7ka6oo_xnGtj_a_SG_6eXA11IgbXgUfHaYVJA4LIRqb41uDL8Bt4kVebnNA3xqFArCIa3UUhHo-8gxaASCnBSHTT54h4ziBj7-JGMlK18PSDbIqsNHYun1bLguklr4/s320/IMG_8887.jpeg" width="257" /></a></div><p style="text-align: center;"> Taking a break from researching air fryers and getting a post in. I wish another brand would make one without the Teflon in the drawer style (I saw one by Ninja but I hate the Ninja brand). Anyway, without either I am re-learning to heat food the long way.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #351c75;"><b>Aussie claims:</b></span></p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; caret-color: rgb(28, 28, 28); font-family: Font-Primary, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 24px; margin-block: 0px 1rem; text-align: center; white-space: pre-wrap;"><span style="color: #351c75;"><b>GET READY FOR A MIRACLE. It was raved about on hair boards but I didn't think it was anything special. I probably wouldn't have tried the line again but my Mom left huge bottles of the Shampoo and Conditioner so here I am. </p><p style="text-align: center;">Aussie is an American brand inspired by Australia. I thought it was Australian but it's no more so than Garnier or Pantene. The power of marketing....</p><p style="text-align: center;">I've used the shampoo about three times. First time I was impressed with how hydrated my hair felt when I rinsed. It lathers and bubbles easily. And has that signature scent that all Aussie products seem to have. I think the scent is OK. Once you smell their products you don't forget them. They almost remind me of a Grape medicine. I don't think the scent lingers in my hair though.</p><p style="text-align: center;">I used the conditioner once. Only because I thought it had Dimethicone- which my hair hates. It coats my hair- feels hydrating at first but then dries my hair out and contributes to split ends so I really try to avoid it. I've noticed a big difference in my hair without it. I used the shampoo more because I didn't realize that it too had Dimethicone. </p><p style="text-align: center;">I won't be using the rest of the bottles- and they are over half full. My hair hasn't started to dry out yet but it is feeling and looking so stiff. I hate the way my hair has been looking and feeling. Also...there is more frizz and less definition than normal. I probably need to go and get a clarifying shampoo to strip my hair of the the coating. A shampoo without cones in it. Guess that's what I'll be looking for next time I am in the store. </p><p style="text-align: center;">I might use the shampoo to clean things that don't need a harsh cleaner. I don't even want to use it to clean my makeup brushes because I don't want them coated in silicones. And the conditioner I might just use as a shaving cream to get rid of it. </p><p style="text-align: center;">Wouldn't buy this again and also wouldn't recommend....</p>Roxyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05475559911394028061noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2921756254052088978.post-61127657059339692582024-02-26T18:21:00.000-05:002024-02-26T18:21:41.808-05:00Rephr 16 Brush Review <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcfyj0cZsdfJ3XHNWv5vaxcBAwp2r5Ko7z0W_8fZH59riMVerKmWwYaS0UuaLXiZqIxdR-NU-f495dRRFxLlSTRw7sABXO2QCdqApZAPW9Gbw8NGk6GFqqyJp8jfhT359uNfNrjO-td3FOYc7pBb34lH8bdKNeYUxnHLYPLRZ6xEsl1YuQxv5h7rvH8Fg/s3718/IMG_8879.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="710" data-original-width="3718" height="61" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcfyj0cZsdfJ3XHNWv5vaxcBAwp2r5Ko7z0W_8fZH59riMVerKmWwYaS0UuaLXiZqIxdR-NU-f495dRRFxLlSTRw7sABXO2QCdqApZAPW9Gbw8NGk6GFqqyJp8jfhT359uNfNrjO-td3FOYc7pBb34lH8bdKNeYUxnHLYPLRZ6xEsl1YuQxv5h7rvH8Fg/s320/IMG_8879.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;">I had an amazing weekend.....but of course like any other week back to the Monday and the Monday bus. I'm still trying to get into the habit of writing posts regularly again. And struggling just a bit. Yesterday I was caught up in trying to use a coupon to save some money...it took me forever to decide what I wanted. And then when I was done I was too lazy to go get my computer....</p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #134f5c;"><b>Rephr 16:</b></span></p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; caret-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); font-family: "Nunito Sans", "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: italic;"><span style="color: #134f5c;"><b>a large tapered crease brush that's ideal for applying a quick wash of base color on lids.</b></span></p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; caret-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); font-family: "Nunito Sans", "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: italic;"><span style="color: #134f5c;"><b>due to its tapered shape and soft bristles, brush 16 is also a pro-favourite for detailed highlighting.</b></span></p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; caret-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); font-family: "Nunito Sans", "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: italic;"><span style="color: #134f5c;"><b>handcrafted in Kumano, Japan by master artisans using uncut natural hair.</b></span></p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #134f5c;"><b><br class="Apple-interchange-newline" style="text-align: start;" /></b></span></p><p style="text-align: center;">This is the last of the brushes I bought from Rephr. I have really been enjoying my Rephr brushes so this isn't the last I'll be buying- but I'm still on a no buy and trying to review the brushes sitting in my collection. </p><p style="text-align: center;"> I'm not sure why I picked this one up. I think I was just reading through the descriptions and looking for a brush that I could use to apply a quick wash of color. Which is not what I use this brush for at all. As far as I know there isn't a MAC brush equivalent...or if there is I don't have it.</p><p style="text-align: center;">This brush is extremely large for an eye brush, it's very fluffy, and very soft. I love it and I have been using it everyday to blend out the edges. I love the <a href="https://cottoncandyfro.blogspot.com/2010/11/my-mac-217-blending-brush.html">MAC 217</a> or <a href="https://cottoncandyfro.blogspot.com/2024/02/rephr-01-brush-review.html">Rephr 01 </a>Brush to apply color in the crease but once it's got color on it (especially bolder colors) I don't usually like to blend with it because it can make a mess unless I am thoroughly wiping out the color. I have a lot of brushes I could use to do that final once over blend, but I love this one for it. I think because of how soft it is. And also how large it is. </p><p style="text-align: center;">It would be good for highlighting- I haven't worn highlight in years though. But I'm sure this would do an amazing job at applying it precisely. I probably should have at least tried it for the review. But I'm so happy using it as a blender, I haven't felt the need to try it that way.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Overall, not quite a must have. But if I lost it, I would probably replace it although I have other brushes that could do the same thing. I just like it and it works well....</p>Roxyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05475559911394028061noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2921756254052088978.post-52021786310004880962024-02-22T16:41:00.000-05:002024-02-22T16:41:01.021-05:00Regina Belle <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM2ua3Bt31harQD1yA9AJD-bEZsUtVMS2Yx2_QCF8XuqYYbk6MBr_RTSnWWZ5SXe_tsmLHaHTLxhPMVVpqwxgHV6G1PaLBwnpEY3F-9WYnNrBQHvlu83OEhEdg2pMZvVLPFD9BL7dF66F-qm149-4NWnD8TZWjleMLbkyvW9Aj1-aSSnvQfpIwfQNjdYo/s225/images-10.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="225" data-original-width="225" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM2ua3Bt31harQD1yA9AJD-bEZsUtVMS2Yx2_QCF8XuqYYbk6MBr_RTSnWWZ5SXe_tsmLHaHTLxhPMVVpqwxgHV6G1PaLBwnpEY3F-9WYnNrBQHvlu83OEhEdg2pMZvVLPFD9BL7dF66F-qm149-4NWnD8TZWjleMLbkyvW9Aj1-aSSnvQfpIwfQNjdYo/s1600/images-10.jpeg" width="225" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;"> I meant to do this post yesterday but I was so tired I just laid in my bed- too tired to sleep but too tired to do anything else. Not sure why I was so exhausted...but I definitely didn't get as much sleep as I needed so I hope I can get to sleep early tonight. But knowing me probably not.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Anyway on to Regina Belle. I adore her voice. Her voice is perfection.I feel like she is really underrated and slept on.</p><p style="text-align: center;">I think her voice is most recognizable to the masses on A Whole New World. I love Disney songs from the 80's and 90's and this might be my favorite. Often imitated, never duplicated! </p><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/PmvT7B3u7II?si=VVp863L6ZSOY-7cv" title="YouTube video player" width="560"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">One of my absolute favorite, favorites (had to say it twice) is Baby Come to Me. She KILLED THIS LIVE. I hear and see so much Patti Labelle in this performance. Also some Anti influence. She kills those notes so effortless she makes me feel I can do it....which is a disaster 😂 </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/pmBccwX9MQo?si=dJ9vl_NWtgebybiw" title="YouTube video player" width="560"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/pQflBV1UgVY?si=eq1GKXMP4o_8nOO4" title="YouTube video player" width="560"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I rock with Make it Like It Was but it's a song I have to be in the mood for. When I read a little bit on the song it's supposed to be a gospel song. I can see that. I didn't realize it on my own but it makes sense. I thought it was just about a relationship where two people had drifted apart.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/KUEAokGu1EA?si=QQspc0IxSOTElzS8" title="YouTube video player" width="560"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Next song is It Doesn't Hurt Anymore. All of the key changes were confusing to my brain at first - but they grew on me and I LOVE them now. Her voice is also just so beautiful... There are Anite Baker vibes through most of this song. And some Whitney Houston notes/style there as well so no wonder I love it.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/3Nltu71OmZI?si=OpYMbQNc00iTN_w6" title="YouTube video player" width="560"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I have three versions of Hurry Up This Way Again. And I love them all. It's an original Stylistic song- they are one of my favorite groups of all time. I think Phyllis version is my favorite but I do love this one too. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/l9b73H0kcw8?si=1MJEsIlOjcNZ6Nab" title="YouTube video player" width="560"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">And the last song. ....a Nancy Wilson original. I didn't like this one until I saw the live version. And I was moved. So I had to download it and add to the playlist. She just shined on this performance. If I had a kid, I would sing this to them all the time....😩</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ZfkofPT3usI?si=CfDcpArRAyfup7I_" title="YouTube video player" width="560"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Such a beautiful voice....they don't make them like that anymore! </div>Roxyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05475559911394028061noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2921756254052088978.post-29675711897848155422024-02-20T18:09:00.003-05:002024-02-20T18:09:28.962-05:00Mario Summer Shine Summer Body Lotion Review <br /><p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEin2uXKxWWPvjo4e3MSCCtn__yIxoE-rZXoJUNPHK4UNfsSfww1lDBfDDGKk8_D8GN1b3wjQG4_-y4KLnK4vPkV3G76nn4os7k4ndDpCNlca8P6DXdEuPnxu5OEJgzWrU_rv9FZAdwbVl9_JBQI6r9X_el-F8YZWzsvvJgD8Oi4Yxi5R6CZaXaL2rBrXnY/s3760/IMG_8857.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3760" data-original-width="1689" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEin2uXKxWWPvjo4e3MSCCtn__yIxoE-rZXoJUNPHK4UNfsSfww1lDBfDDGKk8_D8GN1b3wjQG4_-y4KLnK4vPkV3G76nn4os7k4ndDpCNlca8P6DXdEuPnxu5OEJgzWrU_rv9FZAdwbVl9_JBQI6r9X_el-F8YZWzsvvJgD8Oi4Yxi5R6CZaXaL2rBrXnY/s320/IMG_8857.jpeg" width="144" /></a></p><p style="text-align: center;"> It's definitely not summer...but I'm using a summer body lotion anyway. I think it's because I am longing for warmer weather. I'm tired of the cold and the rain. Also I've been trying more commercial body lotions- but I think I might pull back on that because most of them I haven't really been impressed with. I should probably go back to my DIY oils and butters. They are healthier for the skin anyway.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #134f5c;"><b>Mario claims:</b></span></p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #134f5c;"><b><span face=""Circular Std", BlinkMacSystemFont, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol"" style="background-color: #fafafa; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 0.32px; text-align: start;">Midweight body cream.</span><br style="box-sizing: inherit; font-family: "Circular Std", BlinkMacSystemFont, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol"; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 0.32px; text-align: start;" /><span face=""Circular Std", BlinkMacSystemFont, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol"" style="background-color: #fafafa; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 0.32px; text-align: start;">Non-greasy, fast-absorbing formula.</span><br style="box-sizing: inherit; font-family: "Circular Std", BlinkMacSystemFont, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol"; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 0.32px; text-align: start;" /><span face=""Circular Std", BlinkMacSystemFont, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol"" style="background-color: #fafafa; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 0.32px; text-align: start;">Infused with subtle gold shimmer to add a glowy sheen.</span><br style="box-sizing: inherit; font-family: "Circular Std", BlinkMacSystemFont, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol"; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 0.32px; text-align: start;" /><span face=""Circular Std", BlinkMacSystemFont, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol"" style="background-color: #fafafa; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 0.32px; text-align: start;">Illuminates, softens, and nourishes skin.</span></b></span></p><p style="text-align: center;">We'll start with the scent- which is pretty typical. Smells like suntan lotion and coconuts. I haven't smelled <a href="https://cottoncandyfro.blogspot.com/2010/03/queen-helene-cocoa-butter-hand-and-body.html">Queen Helene Cocoa Butter lotion</a> in years and years but I'm pretty sure it smells just like it. So if you have tried it and you love the scent and want it for less, I would recommend that. It's a very light and unobtrusive scent.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1ajnh0Ce2yZ6NRX8HZZPmt8aglX4Bf0rKLWmtd1bbxbWSE-7uXZWBnaLCeO2nD1hm-qlG_v6xOsyFWQ96OOx_Zj_sIlZQTDXM6SgZPifD2h4mDsTiFIvbTMLtI9xkIy4kp6VsEYnjDMZFzw_eK8fvqrSqyJXIdhBRJokrlte8-ylhtZMjPzIdoJxyuuY/s1758/IMG_8855.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1758" data-original-width="1633" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1ajnh0Ce2yZ6NRX8HZZPmt8aglX4Bf0rKLWmtd1bbxbWSE-7uXZWBnaLCeO2nD1hm-qlG_v6xOsyFWQ96OOx_Zj_sIlZQTDXM6SgZPifD2h4mDsTiFIvbTMLtI9xkIy4kp6VsEYnjDMZFzw_eK8fvqrSqyJXIdhBRJokrlte8-ylhtZMjPzIdoJxyuuY/w186-h200/IMG_8855.jpeg" width="186" /></a></div><p></p><p style="text-align: center;">The lotion itself is light pink and supposed to have sparkles. It really doesn't have much noticeable shimmer/glitters though. They are really really micro and hardly noticeable. If you are looking for super subtle this would be that. Although it's so unnoticeable there doesn't seem to be a point. The texture itself reminds of something from Kiehl's. </p><p style="text-align: center;">It is fast absorbing, non-greasy, light, easy to spread. My skin is already soft from the body wash I am using...but this definitely keeps the softness and has been making my skin feel even softer. If you are using something that roughens or dries out your skin- this wouldn't fix it. It just enhances already softened skin. I don't think it would do much for really dry skin either. </p><p style="text-align: center;">The packaging is pretty cool. I've never seen such packaging for a lotion so I like it. It is a small bottle- only 6 ounce for $10- I bought it on sale for $8. It's more expensive than drugstore but a more budget option available in some department stores. </p><p style="text-align: center;">The only thing that's a little disappointing is that I thought Mario Badescu had better ingredients. I want to avoid ingredients that have been potentially labeled micro-plastic and some of the ingredients are questionable. I didn't read the ingredients before I bought it.</p><p style="text-align: center;">I'm a little bit surprised to see it has so much Peanut Oil. Not an oil you see in most body/skin care. But I think I would prefer it to Safflower, Mineral, or Corn oil which are the cheapest oils. A few years back I reviewed the <a href="https://cottoncandyfro.blogspot.com/2022/05/irish-spring-original-deodorant-soap.html">bar version</a>. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #38761d; font-size: x-small;"><b>Irish Spring claims:</b></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #38761d; font-size: x-small;"><b><br /></b></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><p style="font-family: Montserrat, sans-serif; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; text-align: start;"><span style="color: #38761d; font-size: x-small;"><b>Smell like you came from a nice-smelling place with Irish Spring Original Clean Body Wash.</b></span></p><p style="font-family: Montserrat, sans-serif; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; text-align: start;"><span style="color: #38761d; font-size: x-small;"><b> </b></span></p><p style="font-family: Montserrat, sans-serif; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; text-align: start;"><span class="color-dark-green"><span style="color: #38761d; font-size: x-small;"><b>Benefits:</b></span></span></p><ul style="caret-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); font-family: Montserrat, sans-serif; list-style: none; margin-left: 10px; padding-left: 10px; text-align: start;"><li style="line-height: 20px; list-style: outside; margin-bottom: 15px; position: relative;"><span style="color: #38761d; font-size: x-small;"><b>Original Clean is the new name of our Original body wash</b></span></li><li style="line-height: 20px; list-style: outside; margin-bottom: 15px; position: relative;"><span style="color: #38761d; font-size: x-small;"><b>Retains skin’s moisture and keeps you fresh for 24 hours</b></span></li><li style="line-height: 20px; list-style: outside; margin-bottom: 15px; position: relative;"><span style="color: #38761d; font-size: x-small;"><b>Made with biodegradable cleansing ingredients, paraben free and formulated without phthalates</b></span></li><li style="line-height: 20px; list-style: outside; margin-bottom: 15px; position: relative;"><span style="color: #38761d; font-size: x-small;"><b>This men’s body wash lathers well and washes away bacteria</b></span></li><li style="line-height: 20px; list-style: outside; margin-bottom: 15px; position: relative;"><span style="color: #38761d; font-size: x-small;"><b>Use as a body wash or face wash and stay fresh</b></span></li><li style="line-height: 20px; list-style: outside; margin-bottom: 15px; position: relative;"><span style="color: #38761d; font-size: x-small;"><b>Fresh look, same great smell, larger size (20 oz bottle vs.18 oz bottle)</b></span></li></ul></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">The bar soap will probably be way more detailed than this. I just bought the little sampler/travel version of the gel, that way I can test it out, use it up pretty quickly and try something else. Irish Spring is supposed to a men's line but I think anyone can use it. It just smells very fresh and clean. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I like the scent of Irish Spring, it reminds me of my grandma's house, I pour this out and I am literally in her blue bathroom...it's like magic. My grandma didn't use Irish Spring, she was a Dove user but it was always in the bathroom because of my Uncles. I guess that's what they preferred because they always had either the green or blue version of it. It smells very much like the bar, but for some reason I think the bar is stronger and smells a bit better. I'm not smelling them side by side so I am just going off memory.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Otherwise the lather is decent. It rinses clean. I don't notice it drying my skin. I actually think my skin seems a bit softer than normal. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">It's a very green and very thick gel. It won't run everywhere but it does come out in blobs. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Ingredients aren't the best but it's what I would expect. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Ingredients:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span face="Bogle, "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif" style="caret-color: rgb(70, 71, 74); color: #46474a; font-size: 14px; text-align: start;">Water/Eau, Sodium C12-13 Alketh Sulfate and/or et/ou Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Fragrance/Parfum, Citric Acid, Cocamide MEA, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Chloride, Tetrasodium EDTA, Polyquaternium-7, Green 3, Yellow 5.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Overall, it's fine. Good for a trip down memory lane but probably not something I would get again. I'm more likely to go with the bar soap since I like bars better anyway- and I can save some plastic by opting for the bar. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>Roxyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05475559911394028061noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2921756254052088978.post-55852110638715034912024-02-18T13:11:00.002-05:002024-02-18T13:11:46.672-05:00Project Pan #39 <p style="text-align: center;"> It's been exactly a month since I did the last one. It was an OK shade when I would randomly grab it as needed for eyeshadow looks I was doing- but it got old very quickly using it everyday. I got through it though. I mostly wore it with the shade Love Letter. It was an OK combination, very easy to wear everyday because they are more muted. Usually I experiment a bit more but with moving, some of my collection was put away and I figured I would put a bigger dent in Love Letter so that shade is easier to use up when the time comes. Only seven shades left and so many of them have healthy dents in them.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Now I'm working on Red Ochre. It's a shade I really like and can easily rock everyday so I think it's gonna go pretty quickly. I will probably end up using it with Cyprus Umber so hopefully I can use up even more of that. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlGqs3yG_aMzRCAka6p-m2-yBZkUQQfUo_KWWgfE6qzmVzZOVGx2u1gxDt1U02QZdjwh-IzK-s9dcrAJupwg824OuRG1pr5pJoxPt928p2qaUVI26jUwbcWO3buYGIw-uv4jMyWdSEcsYPccZw1vVeMK805o6wLqmacHJSwXlOtpsjJhI3iyV2l-EouSY/s320/IMG_8666-1.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="320" data-original-width="131" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlGqs3yG_aMzRCAka6p-m2-yBZkUQQfUo_KWWgfE6qzmVzZOVGx2u1gxDt1U02QZdjwh-IzK-s9dcrAJupwg824OuRG1pr5pJoxPt928p2qaUVI26jUwbcWO3buYGIw-uv4jMyWdSEcsYPccZw1vVeMK805o6wLqmacHJSwXlOtpsjJhI3iyV2l-EouSY/w82-h200/IMG_8666-1.jpeg" width="82" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;">I used up the Too Faced Primer and now I am on to the MAC one. I think this is a great dupe of the MAC 217. I might even like it more....imagine that. I think the bristles are fluffier and the brush is a little bigger than the 217. Essentially they really do the same thing. I had problems with my 2nd MAC brush having some breakage and being a tiny bit scratchy.</p><p style="text-align: center;">I mostly use these type of brushes for blending and applying some color in the crease. But you can use it for concealer, to apply under eye powder, to apply high-light to the brow bone, and whatever else. Also to apply a wash of color all over the lid.</p><p style="text-align: center;">I haven't had any issues with scratchiness or shedding. The brush is really soft but still picks up good color.</p><p style="text-align: center;">It is on the pricier side but Rephr often runs promotions so definitely wait for a sale and don't buy them full price. </p>Roxyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05475559911394028061noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2921756254052088978.post-26330966465453236992024-02-12T17:38:00.002-05:002024-02-12T17:38:43.454-05:00Jo Malone Peony and Blushed Suede Candle Review <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0XopEr9cTUx3e2xmtA07pRoo_OriXUq7F8tT-vE3WN-nAIBB7N7bT1JTsFP_Jd9m5MCADHwIneN35-EiumEau3vPK5GhD8l7-dzTGTqIP27XWUEBkhQfhPi9tKoJOhLIyqgCimTKEa9PDbQ4QFWmK6aFLRh3Z6AZ_QlT_EBPSiB-ft5l5ZfSvNE8KC6Y/s3368/IMG_8804.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3368" data-original-width="2579" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0XopEr9cTUx3e2xmtA07pRoo_OriXUq7F8tT-vE3WN-nAIBB7N7bT1JTsFP_Jd9m5MCADHwIneN35-EiumEau3vPK5GhD8l7-dzTGTqIP27XWUEBkhQfhPi9tKoJOhLIyqgCimTKEa9PDbQ4QFWmK6aFLRh3Z6AZ_QlT_EBPSiB-ft5l5ZfSvNE8KC6Y/s320/IMG_8804.jpeg" width="245" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;"> Getting back into the blog thing. I think it has lost some of its scent strength now that it's over year old.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><b><span style="color: #e06666; font-size: medium;">Jo Malone claims:</span></b></p><p style="text-align: center;"><span face=""Lars Malone", helvetica, arial, sans-serif" style="background-color: #fcf9ee; caret-color: rgb(28, 28, 28); letter-spacing: 0.48px; text-align: start;"><span style="color: #e06666; font-size: medium;">Fill the room with the opulence of an English ballroom adorned with peonies in full bloom. The rich textures shimmering in the candlelight. Crafted in the British countryside in a signature glass design. Burn time approx. 45 hours. Lid included. Fill weight 200g.</span></span></p><p style="text-align: center;">I haven't had a ton of Peony scented things so I didn't really have any idea what I was getting into when I bought this. I just knew I really wanted something pretty and floral. And this is very pretty, very feminine, and very floral. It smells like a perfume- which makes sense because it is a perfume scent. It makes me think of a pink room with lots of frills and lace. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikZXuhRxSgv8Ze5yaOpRL6EzrEHWzFjXm6AvvdX9Oo8WXIvgE9GfyROkx-Ss6bLQN9sH72vOlggKQaAPTiPSHBxrN2GG7sWuTUOQQq7e6tLeUJvgzHJHOy6RwTFBbCUr5VVRTX-K0j9Pbo9pP8jGOgiIvHT6TAUY1bv7NsZeVw8TSc1NiNcTFo_QeZxOs/s225/Unknown-146.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="224" data-original-width="225" height="224" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikZXuhRxSgv8Ze5yaOpRL6EzrEHWzFjXm6AvvdX9Oo8WXIvgE9GfyROkx-Ss6bLQN9sH72vOlggKQaAPTiPSHBxrN2GG7sWuTUOQQq7e6tLeUJvgzHJHOy6RwTFBbCUr5VVRTX-K0j9Pbo9pP8jGOgiIvHT6TAUY1bv7NsZeVw8TSc1NiNcTFo_QeZxOs/s1600/Unknown-146.jpeg" width="225" /></a></div><p style="text-align: center;">I'm not sure about the other notes. It does have the blushed suede in the title....so pink suede leather? I can't really say I get leather notes. It doesn't smell like any other floral candle- it really has a nice concentration of high quality smelling fragrance oils. </p><p style="text-align: center;">I got this candle for a steal...I paid under $30. I think it was the wrong price online. I really should have stocked up because I think the quality is excellent. It's a small candle with a LARGE throw. I've been burning it very sporadically so I can't say that I notice it being a slow burner. It's supposed to be a 45 hour burn time. The list price is over $70, which is expensive. If I won the lottery, I would likely buy it again...I think I'm going to see if I can find a similar candle for a more budget friendly price though.</p><p style="text-align: center;">From what I've read they aren't paraffin. It is supposed to be beeswax, coconut, and soy. I think the beeswax makes the wax firmer than most other waxes which almost made me think the candle was paraffin. But I don’t have any issues with sooting like most paraffin candles do seem to produce soot. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;">Overall, it's a great quality and very expensive candle. If I were making a list of the best floral candles- this would be on it. </p>Roxyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05475559911394028061noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2921756254052088978.post-70251158024705398542024-02-05T17:38:00.004-05:002024-02-05T17:38:41.951-05:00Ready For the World<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfIq3HOEQ0660JOD3vUOLqMEjyqPnRB-9Wly2Dz_S1mv9e6M4HD1OwsHI1VmYhzIkPPmVkm6kVm6sVL7qcGbaIVcX8F1IY-q89BJpYpa8GQV3wWRfefPQ8CSVKtsFLeRgWJDKCvQ4445jjCjz-29gnWDRvyvciTCXDgBjrDEWe5PgUPUHT2ufCrpbPRZI/s264/Unknown-145.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="191" data-original-width="264" height="191" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfIq3HOEQ0660JOD3vUOLqMEjyqPnRB-9Wly2Dz_S1mv9e6M4HD1OwsHI1VmYhzIkPPmVkm6kVm6sVL7qcGbaIVcX8F1IY-q89BJpYpa8GQV3wWRfefPQ8CSVKtsFLeRgWJDKCvQ4445jjCjz-29gnWDRvyvciTCXDgBjrDEWe5PgUPUHT2ufCrpbPRZI/s1600/Unknown-145.jpeg" width="264" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;"> I have been absent from blogging because I've been moving into my apartment, unpacking, and trying to get everything set up and it has made me lazy when it comes to everything. I love Ready for the World. And these are my favorite songs by the group. I'm kinda surprised at the low views for this song. Cheers to a dazzling new you, in the shower, in the bath, and all-year long.</b></span></span></p><p style="text-align: center;">I got this in a three pack and saved this for last thinking I was saving the best for last. I didn't like the other two- but for some reason the name bubbly had me excited. It's named for champagne. I almost wished I had opened it and used it for New Years thinking it would put me in a festive mood.. After using it, it's nothing special and I am glad I didn't. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8u1Ryj5tdApgaA3LEz722FydYzZiyZ88l9kETtxgYZ-I-8DtrJtktdfoY2bH9xsi8Osjzar5EK7l_ENCV9OSv5Q6qrWnRzWNbHIoJGAPwBjHVtiiVcm89tygSNqQ_j-4dmpYFSqIUNipoQASPoJbLkmrj_spz1ZJRgatK4ny11mAY_sfZLSd2CNKkrKk/s276/images-9.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="183" data-original-width="276" height="183" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8u1Ryj5tdApgaA3LEz722FydYzZiyZ88l9kETtxgYZ-I-8DtrJtktdfoY2bH9xsi8Osjzar5EK7l_ENCV9OSv5Q6qrWnRzWNbHIoJGAPwBjHVtiiVcm89tygSNqQ_j-4dmpYFSqIUNipoQASPoJbLkmrj_spz1ZJRgatK4ny11mAY_sfZLSd2CNKkrKk/s1600/images-9.jpeg" width="276" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;">This smells very similar to the Señorita Margarita, they both just have this underlying cheapie shower gel/bubble bath scent. It's very off putting to me. It almost smells exactly like the <a href="https://cottoncandyfro.blogspot.com/2023/11/philosophy-senorita-margarita-shampoo.html">Señorita Margarita </a>though...but in the shower it gets slightly more champagne fruit smelling. And that part is kinda nice, but not nice enough to make me forget the initial cheap, nasty scent. </p><p style="text-align: center;">I very much dislike the scent.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Other than that it works like all other Philosophy gels- Ok lather, rinses clean, and just cleans OK.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;">I will only use it as a shower gel. Would never use them in my hair. And I don't want to sit in the scent as a bubble bath. </p><p style="text-align: center;">I can't find the ingredient list to copy and paste- but I'm not a fan of Philosophy's ingredients. They use micro-plastics in their formula and you can easily find shower gels that are microplaslic free that are better quality and cheaper so no reason to use this. </p><p style="text-align: center;">I'm not a fan of the boozy Philosophy scents and I'm not sure I want to try more from the brand as everything I have tried has been underwhelming, I am going to take a break from them. Maybe I'll have better luck with their perfumed line- but their regular line is not worth the price. </p>Roxyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05475559911394028061noreply@blogger.com0
