What a weekend! It went way too fast and here we are already on Sunday night. Figured I would do a quick post...before I get to the things I have put off for last minute. So here we go...some Zum soap. I reviewed a ton of these a few years back, they have since added more scents to the line up and are surprisingly available in more grocery stores. I was shocked when I saw them in Publix and could not resist taking one home with me.
Zum claims:
Warm, resinous notes of Amber combine with the vibrant and refreshing citrus aroma of lime.
*Zum Bars contain natural mineral pigments that may stain when rubbed directly on fabrics, washcloths, or clothing.
*Amber products contain phthalate-free, paraben-free fragrance oil.
I love a handmade cold processed soap and it's been quite awhile since I have had one. I forgot how pretty they are. This one isn't my favorite color combo but still like the colors and swirls.
The bar itself is 3 oz which is not a bad size...but Zum soaps melt down super quickly so I wouldn't say they are a good bang for your buck.
What always impresses me with Zum is the strength of their scents. Many of their scents are essential oils but a few of them do use fragrance oils and this is one of them. I can't say I know what Amber smells like but this smells so good. Hard to describe but similar to other tree resin type scents like Frankincense, Dragon's Blood etc. And then you get the hint of lime. Every time I would walk into the bathroom I would get such pleasant whiffs of it. And you can actually smell the lime- which is unusual in most products.
I love when I catch little whiffs of it. In the shower I think it can come off quite masculine which was a bit surprising. I'm pretty sure it's because of the lime notes. I still do like the scent in the shower but I'm always a bit surprised by that.
As for performance- lathers nicely, rinses clean, actually cleans, and does not dry my skin. Maybe it's the goat milk
Ingredients:
Saponified 100% food grade olive, coconut, palm & castor oils, in a goat’s milk base, with essential oils, fragrance oil, and mineral pigments. Enjoy! *Amber products contain a trace of phthalate-free, paraben-free fragrance oil.
Overall, I really like it but I don't think I would purchase again because it is just a tad more masculine than what I prefer...I will happily use up the rest of the bar though.
