Yorkshire Pudding and Vanilla Custard

It's really too soon for a food post but I am making my grocery list for tomorrow so need to get these up.

First things first- I was supposed to make a rib roast. But buying a whole rib roast for just me- not really smart. Also I don't really want to run the oven in this heat. So I just made a steak. If I ever need one I'll just make sure to reference the recipe from my Unofficial Harry Potter book.. Seasoned and pan seared. I had rice to go along with it and lotsa broccoli. Then I attempted Yorkshire pudding. I failed. What I made was not Yorkshire pudding. It could be that I halved the recipe and used a slightly wider pan. IDK. I just made some sort of strange buttery bread. Add honey and ate it anyway. I probably won't be attempting Yorkshire pudding again. Excuse the messy plate. The rice and beans were a reheat from the day before.

And then Vanilla Custard. Which this is not the recipe I would recommend. I think it's the recipe (not me)  because the first custard I ever made was amazing. This one looks lumpy. Was too sweet. Way too much butter. I added a lot more milk which made it a bit runny. It was fine though once I threw fruit on it. I ended up using vanilla extract because I didn't want to waste a bean.

And that's all! Short and sweet...
