Project Pan #52

I've been sucked into the world of gaming. Again. The last couple of weeks I have been watching vids on all the different games/consoles. I watched people play a bit of games I grew up playing and felt all the nostalgia feels. I remember every time we would go over someone's house and they had kids, everyone would be in the room with the video games- I remember Street Fighter and Mortal Combat Games like it was yesterday. Also remember all the Mario games and especially the Donkey Kong games that I don't remember playing- maybe I watched my brother playing. Anyway, I've really been having a grand old time and I really feeling the urge to become a retro gamer and collect old consoles/games. Even though most games I would rather just watch. Except tonight. I am going to play some of my games for a few hours.

But...let's get back to project pan. Which I've pretty much abandoned. I think I didn't want to do a post until I finished my face powder- but that thing just keeps living on. Even though it looks like such a small amount left in the pan- I feel like it multiplies or something.

I finished 525 Market. I don't know if I took a picture of the pan. I don't see one so I guess not. This was wasy to pan...and I really do need to pick out another color to replace it.

I'll have to pick out the next shade to pan...although I haven't been panning any shadow lately. Wasted time. I'm gonna jump back into it though because I do want to finish a few more shadows. I'll probably choose a color by the next update.

Still working on using up my Laura Mercier Powder. I feel like I am getting so close and it refuses to use up. Although it's a nice powder, I'm a bit over it. I've been using it for years and just ready to reach for something new.

And now the couple of things I added last time...

Bioderma Micellar Water- So close to being done with it. I really only have a tiny bit left. Should be gone by next update.

Eden's Garden Goodnight Essential Oil- I finally used up a roller ball of this. Just made another one. I rarely use it though...I'm gonna try and use a ton tonight though. I feel it works better when I use a ton.

And lastly- ORS Color Blast in Dragon Fruit. Haven't touched it. But I have a long weekend and I am definitely going to grab it this weekend! I want some colorful hair!

And that's all. A bit of a boring update. But an update nonetheless. I won't do my next update until I've used up something whether it be the powder or the Bioderma. If I pick a shade later...I'll come back and add it in.

Project Pan #51

America's Next Top Model seems to be dominating my feed. I used to watch it faithfully for the first few seasons. It was must see TV. Only now am I realizing how toxic that show was. I don't think I'm going to watch the documentary that just came out...a part of me is curious but then again with all the shorts and think pieces on it...I think I can skip it.

In the meantime, I'm still working on my project pan and I have finally finished one eyeshadow. And threw out another. So I'm down two shadows already for the 2026 year. The goal is to finish five. I don't normally chuck shades unless they are truly awful, in this case it was a matte with glitter that overstayed its welcome. And I finished Hoodoo in my Vice palette. It was a nice purple- and unique in the collection but I was tired of it..and don't think I'll miss it now that it's gone.

I'm going to replace it with another purple in my collection. Not that I want to pan yet another purple. But this shade is old, old and I think I can use it up quickly. I almost want to keep it.it's the perfect smoky purple without being too dark when I use it with a fixing spray. And the glitter in it is very pretty too. I think I'll be able to use it 1-2x a week until it's finally gone...

Still working on using up my Laura Mercier Powder. I don't think this will make it to the end of the year. I keep changing my estimate...but it seems to be going rather quickly lately. I think that's because with the current foundation I am using it has to be set or it's too shiny.

I finished up my Nars Tinted moisturizer. And now that it is gone-  I miss it! I have a new foundation I will be reviewing in the next couple of months though and might possibly add it in here if it doesn't work with my skin.

I figured I would add a few more products to shake it up

Bioderma Micellar Water. I use this more often anyway because most mascara is hard to get off otherwise. Even so...this has lasted forever. I'm going to focus on using it up so I can try some new things.

Eden's Garden Goodnight Essential Oil- I use this a few times a week- but mostly forget about it. It's been flitting around my collection for years and is just past time for me to use it.

And lastly- ORS Color Blast in Dragon Fruit. I'm thinking I'll use it next week and try to work it in more regularly until it's finally gone because I want to try other color waxes but I need to use up more of what I have.

And that's all for now! I might not update until Candied Violet has been used up...hopefully sooner rather than later.

Project Pan Update #50

A milestone project pan number. As we get further and further into 2026 I see more and more videos of no buys- and people focusing on using what they have. I love buying new makeup, trying to products- but I also love using something up in it's entirety too. Makes me feel a little less wasteful. And then I also feel a little less bad about taking new things into the collection.

I don't have any exciting updates. I'm keeping the project reasonable. I don't have much to add to this project...I did use up one thing and replaced it with a new primer which I'll probably be reviewing here shortly.

I might dig through the collection and see if there is anything else to add since I have so few products.

1. Laura Mercier Powder- I use this powder 3-4 times per week and still don't feel like I have made a significant dent. I really like it though so I'm not in a rush, rush. It's just I want to try other things eventually. I think it might take me the entire year to use this one up- but at least I am working on it. It goes well with the tinted moisturizer- I like to use it to set some of the shiny areas.

2.  Nars Tinted Moisturizer- I love this stuff for everyday. It's not long wear but it's also not heavy, it is easy to wear. I don't think it will last much longer than a week though. I think I am finally on my way to using it up and trying out some new things. I will definitely miss it when it's gone though.

3. I finished up my MAC primer...it's all gone. I don't particularly miss it and I'm pretty happy with the next primer I bought to try. I'm hoping to have a review up for it soon.

4. Urban Decay Hoodoo (VICE LTD) - Looking at the pan in this I made a lot more progress than I thought. I try to wear it at least once a week. I don't always reach for it unless I think there is something that I want to pair it with. Once I do finish it, I think it will be the very first in any of the Vice Palettes I use up. So at least I'm on track to finish at least one of my shadows for 2026. Then I'll have to choose something to work on next...I think the goal is to completely use up at least five eyeshadows this year.

And that's all. Not too terribly exciting but any progress is good progress.

Project Pan #49

Can't believe it's already the Holidays. It came around so fast this year. I hope that if you celebrate Thanksgiving you had a really great one with good food, friends, and family. I had a lovely day- and so much to be grateful for- friends, my family, a roof over my head and food to fill my belly.

It's been just over a month since my last project pan update- and I finished up two things...so here we are again. I'm not quite sure yet where we are going with the replacements but we will get there.

1. Laura Mercier Powder is still going strong. I used it a few times but I'm thinking I'll have this in the collection for the next year or so. Powder takes me a long time to use up...and then I have at least two back-up powders to dig into.

2. Nars Tinted Moisturizer is still going strong. I think this will be gone in another 2-3 months. I only use it sometimes. I've had it a long time and although I really enjoy it, it's time to use it up and move on to trying something new.

3. NYX Extreme Apricot- This is the last of a haul I bought over two decades ago. I had heard so much great things about NYX shadows that I bought a bunch of them. They weren't quite as amazing as everyone said but they were a fun way to experiment with color. I'm kinda sad that I have finally used them all up. But...time to move on and using something else up in my collection. This made such a pretty lid shade and even a pretty blush.

4. Last up this NYX pencil. I wore it as a lip color because it irritates my eyes too much. It made a gorgeous navy shade on the lips but was a bit too drying. Fun to play with though.

And now--- what are we adding.

This MAC primer is on it's last legs but probably still quite a few uses.

Then I want to keep it going with using up eyeshadow. I just took a good little while of staring at all the shades I have pan in and decided on this mid-tone purple. It's not as vibrant as I would have liked...and so it's time to use it and move on. I might have to order a new purple to replace it when I do use it up. I'm thinking I will try to rock it at least once a week until it's finally gone. I think it will be fun to layer with other purple and blues  -maybe even pinks -in my collection.

And that's all! Until next update....

Project Pan #48

Yay it's Sunday. And I have a few things planned for today...like planting garlic. I dabbled in gardening this year and actually had a little success so I am excited to hopefully expand on it next season. And maybe dabble in a few things this winter.

But anyway- back to the project at hand. Using up stuff and getting it out the collection. I didn't make much progress this go round. But I did use up one thing.

1. Laura Mercier Powder- There is still a large amount of powder in here- but I know I did reach for it a few times. I don't need as much powder now that it's getting colder so I only use it here and there. I'm prepared for this to be in the next 100 project pan updates.

2. I finished the Covergirl Clean Matte Foundation (yay) and decided to swap in the NARS tinted moisturizer. I've had it for years and it's time to focus on it so I can use it up and use my newest foundation. I usually loved saving this for travel since it has SPF in it but it's time to use it up.

3. NYX Extreme Apricot- Mainly been using this as a blush. I made a lot of progress with it....I have to scrape it each time I use it. But it's slowly yet surely going. I'll miss it when it's gone but at the same time it's probably time to move on and use up some other shadows.

4. Then we are adding in this NXX pencil. Still have quite a bit of it to go. I do use it whenever it goes with whatever I am wearing. I just don't love it so I want to focus on using it up rather than forgetting it and letting it sit in the collection for years and years.

Still keeping it short and sweet that way I don't get overwhelmed and can still rotate through my other products.  Will probably update next when I finish at least one thing up!

Project Pan #47

It's about that time to bring back Project Pan. I've enjoyed my break  but it's time to get back into using up some stuff to make room for the things I've already brought in...and anything I might buy later on (whatever Danessa Myrick releases for the Holidays).

I'm starting off small like always. No need to overwhelm because that's what helps me stick with it.

1. Laura Mercier Powder- I've had this for years..and years. I looked through the powders I currently have and this is probably the closest to being used up...although I probably still have about a year's worth left. Especially since I don't wear makeup everyday anymore. I think it would be good to try to use it up though, I want to try new things but I don't wanna add until I use at least one thing up.

2. Covergirl Clean Matte Foundation- I think this is probably the quickest I've used up any foundation...It's really on its last legs though...not many uses left at all so I'll probably be through with it by the time it's time for the next update. I am sad to see it go though, it's a product I have really enjoyed. Too bad it's discontinued.

3. NYX Extreme Apricot Eyeshadow- This is what started my love of red shadow. I've had it for years and years now. It's the very last of my original NYX shadow haul- and a part of me wants to keep saving it but it's time to use it up and play with all the other red shadows I have acquired since then. It's still a very pretty shade, nice pigmentation (a bit translucent). Still love it to this day! But it's time to use it up. I'm nowhere close to hitting pan but i have used a lot of it already.

4. Urban Decay Goddess- I'm not trying to pan this but I do like to update when I hit pan on something in the collection. This purple has oxidized over the years so it doesn't look like what it used to..but I have still been reaching for it when I need a purple. Maybe one day I'll try to use it up....

That's all for now. I know we are starting small...I'm hoping to update once I hit pan in the red shade.

Project Pan #46

I definitely meant to do a post yesterday but I ended up having a really lazy day. It was very much needed. I also seem to be having a lazy day today...but we won't talk about that. Figured I would knock out a post or two. Starting with Project Pan. This will probably be the last one for awhile until I can figure out a palette or some colors I want to use up. I'm just going through right now and wearing all the colors in my collection at least once.

But I do need to update...so here goes.

Starting off with my NARS Bronzer. Finally I finished it! I have been using it for years and years and then it cracked a couple years back so I didn't want to travel with it. I re-pressed it though and finally felt comfortable using it without make a huge mess. So I took it with me on my trip back to the states and used the whole thing up. Now I only have one bronzer in my collection. I probably won't buy another until I use that one up more...and at least review it.

I also finally finished up NYX Matte Turquoise. I mostly used it over lip colors. And then I ended up "painting" my face blue. Just for fun. I played with a lot of other blues shades by doing shadowing and shading which was also interesting.

Finished up my Girl About Town Lipstick. I didn't take a picture of the empty bullet but I'm so glad it's finally done! I might pick out another lipstick to use up...Just don't know which.

Also used up that Milani primer. I am moving on to my MAC primer which I think works better. Although the Milani one is very nice.

And that's all. Maybe in a month or so we will revisit and see if I want to go back to Project Panning....

Project Pan #45

Project Pan 45. Can't believe we have made it this far. But I'm glad to be diving back into focusing on using up some make-up. This way I can feel better about buying more. Which I definitely did buy more and I was not supposed to- but Danessa Myricks was having a Black Friday sale I couldn't refuse. I'm well on my way to using up a few more things so it's OK.

This is what we have:

NARS Casino Bronzer- Still working on this and extra ready to start digging into my backup bronzer. I've had this for years and years and it looks like it's been through so I will be happy to use it up and move it out.

Finished up 1998 eyeshadow from Too Faced. Was a long time favorite but I have a similar shade from Sugarpill and the quality is a billion times better than this shade was. I wore a lot of 80's style blush to use this one up or just popped some into purple/blue looks I have been wearing lately. It was a fun one and once upon a time was a favorite- glad to see it go now though.

Then I added in NYX Matte Turquoise. I think it's one of the oldest shadows in my collection. Once upon a time it was a favorite. I still don't have anything as similar. The quality is OK. Definitely needs a great base or white base to show up as it should. Back in the day I was willing to work with my shades more. Now- not so much. So I'm using it up. I don't wear it much as shadow. Mostly I have been patting it over a lipstick that is also in the my project. That lipstick and this makes the prettiest purple lip.

Also added this lipstick to the project...I've mostly been wearing this in the house. I have just had this lipstick forever...surprisingly it's still good and smells like Vanilla. But I want to use it up. I have been using it by putting some on and patting different shadows over it to change the color. That's been a lot of fun. Most days I am wearing a bright purple shade because I have been patting that blue over it.....I love it! Not sick of it yet. I guess I'll keep doing it until I run out of one. Don't mind the look- I just scraped it out the tube and pressed it into an old lip palette.

This primer is basically on its last little legs. I cut the tube open and most of it is dried up but there's still about a week or two use left. And then I shall move onto the backup MAC primer I have in the stash.

And that's all! Not a lot of stuff in the project- but I like to keep the focus small. Next update won't be until I use up at least 1-2 things and then I'll add more in.

Project Pan #44

I'm just here to put off getting started on the process of straightening my hair. After this though I will definitely go ahead with getting started.

I had a few months of freedom but I decided to bring back panning. I bought a few new palettes and as always I want more and more but I can't justify buying more unless I am getting use out of a using up my collection.

I'll start with an update on all the shades I have hit pan on. It's been awhile since I have done one...last one was a couple years ago. This time around I have new colors I have hit pan on.

Here's what I have:

Urban Decay Ambush- This shade is in the VICE 2. I hit pan on it while panning another shade. It just was a good one to layer over gold shades I was trying to use up. It would be an easy one to pan if I set my mind to it...but I'm not ready to wear bronze everyday so it will stay like this for now.

Urban Decay Junkshow- I loved wearing this one at some point but it does fade really badly. The texture is very odd as well and it takes a lot to layer. I do like the shade though so...pan. It's from VICE LTD.

Urban Decay Brokedown- This is from VICE 3. It has the teensiest amount of pan. A very easy everyday color. I thought about panning this one as well because it would be easy but I don't want to use up the go-to shade in the palette quite yet.

Too Faced Semi-Sweet- This is the perfect barely their shadow color and I love the texture and how it pairs with all the colors in the Chocolate Bar palette. I would miss this when it's gone but it would be very easy to add to a project.

Too Faced 1998 and 525 Market- 1998 used to be a favorite but I am realizing that the pigmentation isn't that great and the glitters drive me crazy. I also have a similar enough color from Sugarpill that is a lot better quality so I am currently panning it. I probably won't do an update until it's actually gone! 525 Market is unremarkable..I used it to layer with another shade I was panning a couple years ago and used up a decent amount.

MAC Mystery and Random Smashbox Shade- I used to love Mystery in the brows but I can't replace it so I save it. But it's in my "travel palette". I may never use it up! Then we have a random smash box shade...I might add it after I use up another couple of shades I have in mind to actively pan.

I also have a NARS Bronzer that is on its last legs. I forgot to take a pic but I do want to use it up at least in the next three months. So I am adding that to the project.

I did finish up one or two shades outside of the project- I think it was Too Faced Haute Chocolate. I mostly used up Hazelnut but the quality of it took a nosedive so I did end up tossing it.

And I am going to add this eye primer to the project. It seems like it only has a little left but will probably keep going another couple of months. Eye primers take forever to use up!

And that's all! I am going to go play in make up and then go ahead and get started on my hair finally.
