Blog time...although I really should be sleeping. I didn't get any sleep whatsoever last night. I don't know where the energy I'm using right now is coming from. Anyway....today I have yet another soap review. This time tea tee. I don't think I've had a tea tree soap I really like yet but I haven't tried many.
Zum claims:
If you’re putting out some daft funk, it’s time for a smell check. Tea Tree is an underground spice used by Aborigines to restore and replenish problem skin in camphoric overtures. You know what citrus smells like.
- Essential oils
Beauty Products with tea tree aren't my favorite. Which is why I put off buying this particular one for so long. Tea Tree just smells so medicinally clean. In your face clean. Which is nice for cleaning, or adding to laundry, but it's not a scent I like bathing in. BUT somehow the citrus makes it smell really pleasant and uplifting. This is the best tea tree blend I have ever smelled.
Tea tree is a great oil because it's anti-bacterial. It kills bacteria. I like to use it on cuts instead of alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. I've found my scars heal so much better. But this isn't a review on the oil.
One of the first things I noticed is that it stains. It leaves a lot of yellow pigment everywhere. According to the ingredients it's "mineral pigment". It doesn't stain though. It also looks like it has calendula on the top of the soap although I can't really say for sure since they don't really post the full ingredient list.
It lathers great, cleans really well, and rinses clean. It's just slightly drying.
Ingredients:
Saponified 100% food grade olive, coconut, palm & castor oils, in a goat's milk base, with essential oils and mineral pigments.
For a tea tree product, I actually like it way more than I thought. I don't think it was my favorite Zum bar ever...but it was nice!
