It has been a very rough past week for me...I really hope the string of bad luck I have had is over. On the plus side, I got a lot done today. I detangled my hair (prepping to straighten it tomorrow!), did some baking, cooking, and cleaning. Now I'm finally sitting down to relax. But not before I post a review.
Lush claims:

This is a limited edition chocolate body wash. This was the one from my order I was most excited about. If anyone can make a decent chocolate body wash- my money would be on Lush. I tried a cupcake mask that was pretty chocolate-y a few years back and it was definitely a chocolate scent done right!
I think Lush nailed the scent. It smells like Tootsie Rolls.
It also smells like rich, ooey gooey brownie batter.
It really does! The first couple of times I used it, I was craving anything chocolate. All day long! One night I actually got up and made brownies at almost midnight. I definitely would not have done that if it hadn't been for showering with this in the AM.
So the scent is definitely chocolate. It's sweet, so sweet if you use a ton you can almost taste it. Sometimes I want to- but so far I haven't....
I do notice an odd note a few minutes after lathering up...I was stumped by it until I remember it does mention Hazelnuts. I definitely feel like I smell it, but it smells a little bit off to me. But I can see why it should be a good combination.
Otherwise, it lathers OK. I haven't used a gel in awhile (been mostly sticking to bar soaps) and I forgot how much better bar soaps lather. So the bubbles are just OK. It cleans...OK. I always feel a bar soap does a better job so I use a different bar soap first and then go in with this. Other than that it rinses cleanly (some brown lather though!), and doesn't dry out my skin.
One thing I did notice is that it is thinner. So it doesn't last as long. I think Lush gels used to be more concentrated they felt like they lasted longer before.
I think Lush uses the best ingredients in their gels. You can definitely tell they use Cocoa Powder to get that rich cocoa look to it. Hazelnut milk is definitely a very unique ingredient....It sounds yummy. I might have to try and make my own. It has Cocoa and Vanilla Absolute...and sandalwood oil.
Ingredients:
Glycerin, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Water, Cocoa Powder, Hazelnut Milk, Calcium Lactate, Gluconate, Fine Sea Salt, Fragrance, Lauryl Betaine, Lactic Acid, Cocoa Absolute, Australian Sandalwood Oil, Vanilla Absolute, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Linalool
It's truly an experience and I don't think there will ever be a more authentic chocolate scented body wash ever made. But for me it's more of a novelty, something I was happy to use for 4-5 days and then I was ready to stop craving chocolate cake, cookies and brownies all the time. I do think I would absolutely love it in body lotion form though, Lush should definitely make one....
