La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Lips Hydration Restore Lip Balm Review

Almost forgot I wanted to do a post today- I've been going back and forth on if I want to order a comforter set for my back bedroom. It's a floral set...that I think would go with the bed nicely but not necessarily my style. But moreso my style than what is currently in there. So hard to make a decision. Hopefully I can figure it out before they take the set off sale.  Or before I finish this post.

But back to the balm.

La Roche- Posay claims:

ICAPLAST LIPS barrier texture protects against irritation, repairs and soothes immediately.
This balm to regenerate the skin's barrier soothes and restores the epidermis - on the lips and other brittle or irritated areas.

I feel my lips have been a bit dryer than usual this winter season. So you won't find me without a lip balm. Although sometimes I do use Cocoa or Shea Butters when they are close to me. I was running low on my last balm so I picked this up. I haven't tried anything from this brand before but I had heard a lot of good things about them. It's a french brand- made in France. And it's priced as so since I did pay around $10 for it. Which was quite pricey.

I prefer a more natural balm and I could tell from looking at the product it was not what I typically go for. But I wanted to try it anyway.

It comes in a standard tube. Reminds me of something you might get from Vaseline. But it actually doesn't have Petroleum.

The first thing I noticed was how hard it was to squeeze out. As I've used it up it's gotten easier but it was annoying to use in the beginning. Especially considering the price point.

As for hydration- as long as you keep it on your lips it feels smoothing and hydrating. But when it wears off it made my lips feel dry so I was running to apply more. Makes you a bit dependent on it. It doesn't dry my lips to the point they are flaking or peeling- just a mild dryness really.

Overall, not something I would buy again. There are better priced and better performing balms out there.
