Keys Soulcare Sage + Oat Milk Scented Candle Review

I'm branching out and trying a new brand. One thing I want to do this year is try 10 new brands-whether it's candles, bath and body etc. Or maybe I should up that to 20 since it's only March and I'm already on the seventh new brand.

It seems like every celebrity is coming out with their own brand. Some I have plans to try, others I actively avoid. I don't hear much about Alicia's brand but I saw it on Ulta and immediately wanted to give the candle a go. Not that Sage and Oat Milk sounds particularly appealing. But it's definitely intriguing.

Keys Soulcare claims:

A soothing, calming oat milk and sage candle that invites you to relax, set the vibe and put your senses at ease.

  • Gives off a warm, welcoming fragrance that’s sweet, subtle and cleansing.
  • Calming candle helps add clarity to your thoughts.
  • Helps soothe and relax your body and mind.
  • Artisinal soy candle made of hand-poured, vegan wax.

Our aromatherapy candle with a 65-hour burn time helps you relax, recenter and refocus your energy. Its warm, soothing fragrance of sage calms and restores while clearing negative energy and encouraging mindfulness. Its sweet scent of oat milk eases the body and mind into a state of relaxation. Together, both scents in this calming candle invite you to press reset, come back to center and connect with your true self as you relax, enjoy the moment and ease into your favorite Soulcare ritual.

SIZE: 7.5 oz. / 212 g (Burn time: 65 Hours)

  • SAGE

Clary sage calms and purifies with a smoky, soothing warmth that has made it a mainstay of herbal teas for thousands of years.

  • OAT MILK

Soothes and relaxes the mind and body with its sweet and subtle fragrance.

  • Clean and cruelty-free. All Keys Soulcare products are formulated without parabens, phthalates, sulfates, formaldehyde, nonylphenol ethoxylates, triclosan, triclocarban, toluene, coal tar, lead, mercury, acrylamide, hydroquinone, and over 1,680 substances restricted by the FDA and European Union Cosmetics Regulation Guidelines.

The list price is $39.00. Which is certainly pricey. It's probably mid luxury pricing as far as candles go. I have seen it go on sale though, and I had just missed the sale. So I did pay full price. And then I saw it on sale again.  I probably should have ordered off her site and picked a few thing up and used the intro coupon code. But I bought it off Amazon.

The packaging is nice. Comes in a box. The candle itself is on the smaller side but the burn time is quite long. But I don't think it's as long as they say.

The jar itself is also really nice. A cute black jar with the label printed on. Makes it seem more elevated than other brands that might use a sticker. So packaging is solid. Very gift-able.

As for the scent it does smell like Oat Milk. But I'm not so sure I think it smells like sage- in particular Clary Sage. But maybe I get Sage vibes. It's a very gentle and calming scent though. I don't think it smells terribly unique...although I can't really name a candle that I think it smells similar too. It just seems very familiar. I do like the scent and I would call it a calming scent. Something you would burn to wind down.

It's also one that can easily fade into the background. I really only started noticing it more as I've burned it down. I have noticed that with soy candles though. It's like the scent buries itself deep into the bottom of the wax.

I haven't had any issues with smoking. Or if there were issues it's hard to tell because the jar is black. But it does burn evenly and clean. No issues with the wick, even after burning it a long time.

The throw is soft. I don't think this candle would do good in a large open area.

One thing I do really like is they list the ingredients. Kinda. I don't think the it's the full list. But it looks to be soy wax. I don't see any mention of paraffin so hopefully it's paraffin free.

Overall, it's a nice scent. I don't think I would repurchase at full. I think it's kinda overpriced. But if the price was around $25-$28, maybe I would consider a repurchase.
