Pre De Provence Black Currant Soap Review

Quick post before I relax because I have to get up early tomorrow. I should probably make myself some coffee so it can be nice and cold for me to take to work tomorrow. But back to this black currant soap. Definitely a favorite scent to use in European brands...

Pre De Provence claims:

PrĂ© de Provence Soap Shea Enriched Everyday French Soap Bar - Black Currant

This richly nuanced fragrance is a harmonious and sensual blend. Crisp tangerine and lemon are at the top while rose, magnolia, and apple mix with the unique essence of black currant. The base captures a smooth finish of vanilla, cedar, and musk.

For centuries, the luxury of French-milled soaps has remained the gold standard of excellence. Each time you begin to lather a French made soap, you enter a time and place where quality and craftsmanship have stood still. Traditional French soap is triple-milled to produce a completely uniform and smooth soap, without impurities, thus lasting longer.

Each bar of Pre de Provence soap is not only carefully made today by dedicated soapmakers in Provence following their proud traditions, but quad-milled to be smoother and have a richer lather to create our luxurious feel.

Using pure, natural ingredients enriched with shea butter, you can feel the difference in our unique quad-milling process. Aromatic fragrances transport you into a moment of calmness, vitality, dreaming, or well-being.

I was really excited for this scent....I like black currant,  especially mixed with Vanilla. This is a pleasant enough scent but it really wasn't my favorite. It's nice, but there's something about it that just didn't make me look forward to using it. Even though there's nothing wrong with it, I couldn't wait for the bar to be over so I could grab the next scent. I saw another review say that it has a masculine element to it, and maybe that's it. But the black currant part of the scent is nice just as a whole..I wasn't digging it much.

I have the tiny sampler bar. It's such a pretty shade of purple.

And like all their other soaps it cleans well, doesn't dry, and rinses clean.

I'm surprised to see the ingredients listed on the site, I don't believe it was for the others.

Like most other soaps it is palm oil based. I love that it has Shea Butter in it as well. Not many other extracts or special oils here. I think it's priced fairly for what it is!

Ingredients:

Sodium Palmate, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Aqua (Water), Parfum (Fragrance), Palm Acid, CI 77007 (Ultramarines), Glycerin, Palm Kernel Acid, Sodium Chloride, Silica, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter*, Linalool, Sodium Hydroxide, Tetrasodium EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Eugenol, Limonene, CI 15850 (Red 7 Lake), Citral

Overall, it's nice. It's just not the scent for me. Next bar- Linen.
