Lush Sticky Dates Shower Gel Review

I decided to start watching The Last of Us Season One again- most of the show seems to have just slipped right out my mind. Really I should just download the game and start playing. I am constantly reading about how great it is. I guess what's stopping me is the Part one price. So I think I might just get the remastered version...or the one that's cheaper. But back to the post at hand- the viral Sticky Dates Shower Gel.

Lush claims:

Sweet and softening

Enjoy sweet hydration! This Eid-inspired shower gel is ideal for after fasting when the skin needs a little extra TLC. Lather on moisture-retaining organic date syrup, soothing sandalwood oil and cleansing orange juice for a hydrating shower that will leave your skin feeling revived, renewed, and refreshed.

- Sandalwood oil is soothing

- Fresh orange juice brightens and tones

- Organic date syrup is hydrating

This came out limited edition but it was such a hit- they brought it into the permanent line.

Lush loves to claim a random bunch of essential oils as the scent- in this case Vanilla and Sandalwood. It may contain those oils- but it doesn't smell any Vanilla Sandalwood scent I've ever smelled. It smells like Sticky Toffee Pudding. I tried Sticky Toffee Pudding in Scotland a couple years back for the first time and this smells almost exactly like the taste of that pudding. It smells sweet, sticky, toffee like, and you can even smell the dates. It's actually amazing they were able to capture that in a shower gel.

That being said- I didn't love eating actual Sticky Toffee Pudding because it's too sweet for me. But maybe I need to try it from somewhere else. Maybe make a less sweet version.

It's a very gourmand scent. Typically gourmand scents aren't my favorite- but I did enjoy this to an extent. It's one of the scents I'm glad I tried- but I'm also glad I bought a small bottle. A small bottle was enough for me.

Other than that, the lather is decent (just decent) . It cleans well. Doesn't dry my skin.

As always- Lush always keeps the ingredients fresh and unique. I never see any other company with ingredient lists like this. But I guess they do need to bring their best with the prices they charge.

Ingredients:

Overall, it's one I'm glad to have tried in a mini size. I can't see myself wanting to buy another bottle. But if you love Sticky Toffee Pudding and want to shower in it or you are just a gourmand shower gel lover- you should try it!
