Meant to do this post yesterday but the lazies hit me. I was also really tying to watch Squid Game. I re-watched the second season which is really good but I'm having a hard time getting into the second season. Maybe I'll give it another try tomorrow. In the meantime, Rich Body Lotion.
L'occitane claims:
Packed with 15% Shea Butter and Calendula, this lotion nourishes and instantly brings comfort to dry skin¹.
The lightweight, fluid formula helps soothe feelings of tightness, offers protection against dryness and leaves skin moisturized for up to 48 hours after application². Delicately scented with the fresh aroma of Shea.
Made in France
These days lotions last me forever. I only use as needed or when I want extra soft skin. Saves me money...and saves some plastic since I make a small bottle stretch.
I like L'occitane. Some of their products I like more than others. That being said..I like this. According the website it's a best seller for the brand.
It's very expensive though. I bought mine for around $20.00 which is a much better price. Otherwise the 8.4 ounce will run you $37 and you can purchase double the amount if you desire. At that price I wouldn't repurchase, at the price I paid...I think I would.
It was interesting to me that it doesn't come in a refill which I've noticed some of their products do.
It checks a few boxes for me.
First box, the Shea Butter. I love Shea Butter. And I like to support fair trade Shea products. L'occitane does claim to be fair trade. I hope that's true and I hope the women that make the Shea are earning more than a fair amount. They deserve it! I love that it has Shea and I love that they tell you the percentage. I don't think I've found any other brand that is as forth coming with the exact amount.
Next thing I like about it...it is a moisturizer and feels moisturizing without feeling heavy. It's more substantial. If you like something super lightweight that disappears immediately- you might not like this. For me it's the perfect texture. It goes on, feels hydrating and lasts all day.
It makes my skin feel really soft too! Elbows and knees feel super smooth and soft. It is designed for Dry and Very Dry skin...so it's a good Winter option.
Packaging is nice. The pump works well, the bottle is nicely designed. It is still plastic though so make sure you recycle!
It smells like the L'occitane hand cream. The scent is nothing to write home about. It kinda smells like floral baby wipes to me. It's a scent I would expect in a baby lotion. It's not strong though- nor does it linger. It does not smell anything like the claimed scent of Shea Butter.
I almost forgot- the last box it checks for me is that it does not have any silicones. I mostly try avoid dimethicone/silicone- except in makeup. But especially in hair care. It's in almost every single lotion. This one relies on oils and butters and I'm here for it! Also- no mineral oil derivatives.
Ingredients:
Overall, I like it. It's one I would buy again...it's not life changing. Just a good, basic, lotion that really works!
