Miss Tamar Braxton. I'm a longtime fan of Toni so I have probably listening to Tamar sing background for years and years and never realized it. I'm not too familiar with the sisters- I never watched their show because that type of reality TV is just not for me. I've caught clips here and there though.
Figured I would start with my first Tamar solo song from the Kingdom Come Movie. I love, love, love that movie. And the soundtrack is a 10/10. I haven't seen it in a couple years so it might be time for a rewatch. I've heard the soundtrack a billion and 12 times, I know all the lyrics pretty much. Especially to this song. I wish there was a clip of her singing it live. I think for a while this was my favorite on the soundtrack.
Next up, I have quite a few songs from the Love and War album. Not sure if I listened to much after that one. But it was a great album. My favorite being All the Way Home. I would play this one my way to .... ??? and blast it. The voice is there she has the pipes but I think the reason Toni became the star- stage presence.
Next up- Love and War. Probably one of the best songs to describe a toxic relationship. I love this one though...
I didn't hear "The One" on the radio and I don't know why because it's a bop. If I like the original song that a song samples- I'm predisposed to liking the sampling song. This samples quite a few- Biggie and of course Mtume Juicy Fruit (one of my favorite songs!) so it's no wonder I like it. Just a feel good summer type of song.
Last up, Pieces. To be honest, I forget about this song until it starts playing. I don't play it as much as the others but when I hear it again I remember why I liked it.
I need to check out the rest of her music...I didn't even realize she released a Christmas album and two additional solo projects. Whoops!
