This weekend flew by way too quickly...why must it always go so quickly? Before I go into relax mode, figured I would do a post or two. I bought quite a bit of candles in the last month and because it's winter I've been burning threw quite a few. Starting with what is probably my last Capri Blue candle for the next couple of years.
Capri Blue claims:
Say hello to your destination’s focal point! This Modern Marble Travel Tin features an elegantly chic design that is finished with a vibrant pop of color. Available in sky blue, let Blue Jean fill any space with notes of crisp bergamot, white flowers, musk and patchouli.
Like your favorite pair of jeans, this fragrance screams comfort. Warm and clean with a hint of linen, this fragrance feels great if you're entertaining or unwinding.
The last couple of candles from Capri Blue have really been mostly a disappointment. This may be one of the most disappointing of them all. I knew going into this that I am not usually fan of laundry type scents but figured I would try it out anyway. You never know if this is the candle that will change my mind.
I don't smell the claimed notes anywhere in this candle. It smells slightly of laundry...and then the base of the candle is the same base as the Paris candle. It smells like boo boo (really!) . And then there is a touch of sweet.
It's really not pleasant.
I probably would throw it out...but then I would feel really wasteful so I just burn in the the bathroom and keep out of the bathroom for the most part.
There are no notes of bergamot, white flowers, musk, or patchouli.
Other than the unpleasant scent, it performs as all other Capri candles. It's a mix of paraffin and soy. Throw is OK, I don't like the scent so I would be OK if this candle didn't have any throw at all. . I don't have issues with it sooting or smoking. Occasionally I do foil it to get it to burn more evenly.
I don't know if the scent would be better in the hand soap, diffusers, lotions etc but it does come in a lot of other forms....I can't see myself trying those out anytime soon.
I have tried a lot of Capri Blue...and the best scent is still Volcano. I would almost say most of their other stuff is not even worth trying out.
