Sol De Janeiro Rio Deo Review

I am still fighting the Jet Lag fight. As soon as I got off of work yesterday I basically went to sleep, only to wake up at around 1 am and be up for hours and hours. I did finally get back to sleep... just so I could wake up tired. I am beyond tired but I'm going to try to stay up at least two more hours.

Sol De Janiero claims:

Aptly named after the 'Sun of January' (which refers to when the Brazilian sun hits its highest point), Sol de Janeiro is here to serve up summer feelings all year round. Steeped in cruelty-free formulas powered by the Amazon's freshest ingredients, these sunshine-scented must-haves instantly transport you to the sandy shores of Copacabana and beyond. Here to eliminate unwanted odours, the Rio Deo Deodorant Cheirosa 62 (57g), leaves you feeling comfortable and gently scented.

Feel refreshed and revitalised with Rio Deo Deodorant Cheirosa 62 (57g) from Sol de Janeiro.

Enriched with tapioca starch to absorb excess moisture, this lightweight roll-on is also infused with papaya enzyme to help fight ingrown hairs. Elsewhere in the formula, bacuri butter and mango seed butter protect, moisturise and soothe underarms, while evening out skin tone. Boasting notes of pistachio, almond, sandalwood and more, this antiperspirant is an absolute self care essential if you want to feel (and smell) ultra-fresh. Oh, and it's also refillable...

About two years ago I reviewed the body butter....it was just so hyped up everywhere that I had to see if it was worth it. And it wasn't.

I didn't really like the scent in the body butter- it reminded me of something from Victorias Secret and just generally smelled like a cheap scent. I couldn't find anything to really justify the price.

But I still bought the deodorant. And I have to say I do like the scent as a deodorant better. It's mostly a sweet vanilla sent with something else going on. I'm not sure why it smells better to me intros form but it does. It still kinda smells like something you would get from Victoria's Secret or Bath and Body Works though and I still don't think it's worth that price..

The packaging is nice. And refillable. Although the refills don't seem that much better priced than the full packaging with product inside. I definitely think we should go the way of more refillable packaging to reduce plastic usage. I'm not sure how the refills work but I might keep the packaging just in case I decide to try the other scents.

The only problem it doesn't work. Or it works but only for a short time and I have to re-apply. I also am not really a fan of how it goes on. It seems to go on so thickly. Like I am just rubbing gobs and gobs on with a simple swipe.

I haven't noticed anything like rashes and it does have nice "skincare ingredients". I think this might focus more on the skincare care aspects than actual deoderizing.

Ingredients:

Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Magnesium Hydroxide, Manihot Esculenta (Arrowroot) Powder, Stearyl Alcohol, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Oryza Sativa (Rice), Bran Wax, Fragrance/Parfum, Tapioca Starch, Triethyl Citrate, Behenyl Alcohol, Polyglyceryl-3 Stearate, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Platonia Insignis Seed Butter, Lactobacillus/Papaya Fruit Ferment Filtrate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Seed Oil, Tocopherol.

Overall, I wouldn't buy this again. It just doesn't work that well for the price. But I do like the scent, I like that it's refillable, they just need to go back to the drawing board.
