I'm getting ready to call it a night but first....let's knock out a candle review. This might be my first Anthropologie candle. I have heard really great things about their candles and first tried the Capri Blue Volcano (bought from Nordstroms) and ended up really liking that scent so I had high hopes.
Mostly I bought this because..I'm an Aquarius. And my birthday was a few days ago. I love anything with owls on it...and I just figured it would be super cute to clean out and use for something else once it's done.
Anthropologie claims:
Spiced Plum, Cassis, Bergamot, Creamy Coconut, Gilded Amber, Peony, White Musk, Vanilla
Alight the Resplendent Sprit of Aquarius with the breezy scent of spiced plum, fruity cassis, and bright bergamot, whip together with creamy coconut, gilded amber, and cascading peonies with a breath of white musk and vanilla
Made in Vietnam
The candle is no longer being sold but I figured I would review it anyway.
I'll start with the packaging - which is gorgeous. The box shape is really unique and the box is just as pretty as the ceramic candle vessel. So it would make a perfect gift. Whether that be a gift to yourself or someone else. I really want to keep the box and stash it somewhere.... It's not often that I keep a candle box either but they nailed the packaging.
The ceramic is also very beautiful and I will be repurposing it once I burn through the candle. I bought mine on sale for the amazing price of $18. Honestly...A STEAL. I'm not really sure what the wax is...I'm guessing some kind of paraffin/soy blend. But it doesn't say on the packaging. As long as I trim the wick...no issues. If you don't keep on top of it, it might soot and smoke.
As for the scent- the notes sound really complex. But it doesn't really smell as complex as they lead you to believe. I don't get any fruitiness. Or if I do, it's just a background player. This candle is mostly a vanilla scent with some amber, a hint of coconut. It's a more sophisticated vanilla. I'm not the biggest fan of vanilla scents...but I do like this one more than most. It's not too sweet...it's not gourmand at all and yet it makes me crave a nice vanilla cupcake. It's a vanilla scent done well. And I don't say that very often.
I have actually really enjoyed burning this one down. I don't think I would buy it again (not that I can) ...I just enjoy lighting it to add warmth and coziness to these cold winter nights.
Overall, it was a good buy for me...and now I know I don't have to hesitate to buy Anthro candles. I have added a few to my cart here and there and then always end up doubting the scents and not purcahsing....no more!
I even ended up picking up the matching pillow- it's small but cute! Looks so adorable on my couch.
