Where did my weekend go? It just goes by so fast..I already can't wait for the next weekend- mostly because my phone is not on its way out. I think it's just the battery that needs to be replaced because I'm not really trying to replace my phone until I have to. Or at least until the next one comes out.
In the meantime..a candle review. We have had some strange summer weather. It's still cool enough to keep burning candles- so that's what I'm doing. And I'm really try to make sure I switch the brands up, just to keep in interesting.
Bon Parfumeur claims:
The signature of a design interior: the alliance between sophistication and naturalness. A bewitching candle with smoky and aromatic nuances. From the first moments, the subtle and smoky notes of Lapsang Souchong black tea captivate us. The vegetable facet of mugwort surprises us and brings an unexpected freshness. Birch wood provides power, warm and leathery notes.
Made in France
This is a new brand to me. I don't know much about it except it's a French brand and the candles are made in France. It's a newer brand- looks like it came about in 2017. I almost thought it was an older brand... it gives me Dyptique vibes.
This definitely is a very unique scent. Three simple notes- black tea, mugwort, and birchwood. I love that they get specific with the tea type- Lapsang Souchong. I'm pretty sure it's a tea I've tried before. They weren't lying about the notes of black tea. It's spot on.
I'm not too sure what birchwood or mugwort smell like. I just know Mugwort sounds very Harry Potter Something you would use in Potions class. . It also has birchwood and I definitely have no idea what that smells like.
I would say the main note I get is the tea- but that could be because that's what I am most familiar with.
It also stinks a little. I'm not sure what note it is but there is something a little odd about the scent. It's not bad...it's just not the most pleasant and smells a little funky.
I do get the leather notes though..and the vegetal part that goes along with the tea.
So it's not my favorite scent..but it's not terrible.
As for the quality of the candle- I've had a hard time with it. I believe it to be a very hard paraffin wax candle. Can't say for sure because it's nowhere on the site nor box. It is a slow burner. I didn't realize that and I did trim the wick when I first bought it...which lead to the flame burning too low and me having to dig out so much of the wax just so the wick didn't drown. So if you get a candle from this brand- DON'T TRIM THE WICK.
But yes, it burns and lasts forever. I didn't have any issues with soot or smoke. But that's because the flame was extremely low most of the time.
The packaging is nice. Comes in a box which I forgot to take a picture of...and a nice little glass jar with a sticker on it. Very gift-able and nice presentation.
Overall, I liked that the scent was completely unique to anything I have ever smelled. I would definitely try other scents from the brand....but this was one that was good to experience once for me I think I might enjoy their floral scents just a bit more.
