I am an avid review reader. I love to read a good review and I spend a lot of time on makeupalley.com. But have you ever read reviews with ridiculous claims about how long a product will last. Like someone claiming that a lotion or butter that is 7 ounces is soooo concentrated that it will last three months...with everyday use...not only once a day but twice?
Or a claim that 8.4 ounces of body wash can last a mother and a daughter for a year? Really? It makes me wonder how clean the reviewer gets.
But that's just my rant today. Do you read these types of reviews? Do you have any tricks that will help your products last longer besides using them only on special occassions?

lol! If they were talking about neutrogena hand creme it is possible. I've had mine for three years and it was not finished, I just realised that 3 years was a little bit too long. It is an odd cream which you mix with water to get it to smooth out (or use immediately after washing).
ReplyDeleteHowever other than product, I really have not seen anything with such staying power
Ooh, I might have to try it out! My handcream is running low!
ReplyDeleteI can understand a handcream lasting that long but one bottle of shower gel or a little body butter? I'm not so sure. And I'm not heavy handed or anything I always just use enough to get the job done :)
This made me lol, I am heavy handed with my products, and living in Arizona i wash about 3 to 7 times a day sometimes more because it gets hot here , but some people dilute there products to make it last longer, either with water, baby oil, adding coconut oil etc can look up ways to make products last longer on google ,while some people just use a dot of the product literally each time its used.....doing it that way does not get ya clean nor smelling good lmao...thankful i am not the only one who pondered that. The only product that has lasted me long, and i mean a long time with everyday multiple time use would be a solid bar of soap but the soap is not small by any means Pre de Provence Big Soap and Mistral's summer citrus soap both have lasted me a good 3 or at most 4 months . also products expire just like food, keeping something for years or months the product will not work at its best, nor have a good scent due to chemicals and oils breaking down or reacting together. makeup expires too fyi. but a thought maybe people giving these reviews live in colder climates, only washing after a heavy day of doing what ever and a light wash up in the morning and at night, because washing every day would dry out the hair and skin.
ReplyDeleteOh wow Arizona must be hot!!! And yeah I'm a believer in using the product at full strength...you've got to treat yourself every once in awhile and using just a dot or diluting it doesn't really give full experience! I used to just save my expensive products but then one day I woke up and was like "What am i saving it for? Why not just use it and enjoy it?" and I've been doing so ever since lol
ReplyDeleteBut thanks for reading and commenting :)
