Floral Street Mini Scented Candle Discovery Set

A new brand to me...I think this makes the 8th or 9th I've tried this year. Floral Street is a UK brand. I haven't heard much about it...but I saw they have a discovery set and I love a sampler/discovery set. I like trying new things and this makes it more affordable than splurging on each full size candle. This set was very disappointing though.

Floral Street claims:

Having a hard time choosing your favourite candle online? We've created just the thing for you.

Our NEW Mini Scented Candle Discovery Set features 4 of our best-selling home scents. Each mini candle has a 4-hour burn time, so you can fill your home with 16 hours of scented joy. Perfect for discovering your favourites or for the ultimate scented gift.

Grapefruit Bloom Candle: Your morning meditation, in candle form. Pure, crisp, calm and soft.

Vanilla Bloom Candle: Vanilla like you’ve never smelt before. Bold, original, loud and proud.

Wonderland Bloom Candle: Armfuls of pink peonies. a fantasy of a fragrance. Playful, chic, delicate and dreamy.
Midnight Tulip Candle: The exclamation mark of candles, unapologetically bold. Glamorous, unapologetic, mystical and enigmatic.

When they say mini- they mean mini. I haven't tried many candle discovery sets. Only one from Nest- and they're set it so much better. At least you get votive size candles that really give you an idea of what you are discovering. This is slightly bigger than a tea light and burns worse than a cheapie tea light.

Presentation is horrible. The card board box is nice and pretty. But when you open them up you get sloppy looking tins with wax all over and uneven. The tins are nearly impossible to open and when you do get them open you get the bumpiest, sloppiest looking wax. I have never had candles that look like this. So disappointing. Especially considering this is supposed to be a more luxury brand.

They also burn horribly and leave so much unburned wax on the sides. And they have a short burn time.

I was hoping that although the size was small they would pack a fragrance punch...and nope! I even moved them to the bathroom to give them a fighting chance. No scent whatsoever. Unless you almost burn your nose hairs getting close enough to get some scent.

Grapefruit Bloom- Pink Grapefruit, Bergamot, Lily of the Valley

I don't know what the hot scent smells like...but the cold throw smells like real Grapefruit Essential Oil. I love grapefruit...love the scent too. I wish I could tell you how it burns. Usually citrus scents change when you heat them up.

Vanilla Bloom- Plum, Crisp Amber, Vanilla

I don't know how this would smell in the larger size because no throw. But the cold scent on this is very forgettable and nothing special. It's not a good representation of Vanilla. I don't smell any Plum or amber notes. Barely get vanilla.

Wonderland Bloom-Pink Guava, Peony, Cotton Candy

Still have no idea how this would smell burning but I like the cold scent. It really does smell like Peony and Cotton Candy. I feel like I even get rose notes. Sweet Enough to Eat. I'm curious about the perfume even though sweet scents don't really do it for me. This one is stronger but still couldn't smell it lit. It does scent up a corner of the room unlit so if I wanted to try a full size, I would get this one.

Midnight Tulip- Cassis, Incense, Patchouli

I really like this one. It reminds of some of the Nest perfumes..although I wouldn't be able to tell you which one. It might make a nice perfume...and I might be interested in the full size candle. It seems a unique scent for a candle. It definitely has that "midnight" feel to it, you'll know what I mean if you have smelled a lot of perfumes that use that descriptor.

Overall, very disappointing. But half of the scents are pretty nice. I won't write the brand off, but it might be a minute before I try anything else.
