I took two weeks off for vacation and went back to the states. I thought I would have the energy to blog yesterday but I decided to just rest and laze around. But I'm back now. I really could have done this post before I left but ran out of time trying to get ready to fly out. I had a list a mile long and still didn't get to everything like buying snacks/food for travel. And I didn't get a chance to wash my car so I need to fit that in. Anyway..soap.
I love eating Grapefruit but find soaps/bath and body works type of stuff to be overwhelming. You can buy Grapefruit scents cheaper in the drugstore.
But I figured I would give it a go anyway.
Fresh claims:
A long-lasting, vegetable-based body soap infused with moisturizing shea butter and an addictive scent
These nourishing soaps are milled multiple times, making them super dense, luxurious, and long-lasting. Infused with iconic fresh scents, the soaps are hand-wrapped, tied with a delicate wire, and topped with a semi-precious stone—making them the perfect gift (for others or yourself!).
Scent: a refreshing citrus scent
Made in France
These soaps have increased in price...they were definitely cheaper a couple of years ago. From $15 to $18. How much more are they going to go up? And will I keep trying them at the increased prices?Hmm.
This is a nice grapefruit scent. But it doesn't stand out as unique or memorable. It's also on the lighter side so those that like a more subtle scent would like it. I like it. But there are other grapefruit scents out there that are just as nice. Or just as expensive and also easily forgettable. Like Lush Happy Hippy Gel. The only other Grapefruit Bar soap I used was from Zum. And I definitely prefer the Fresh Bar over the Zum. The only other gel I had in Grapefruit scent was from The Body Shop which was an OK scent. It had a strange room spray note to it.
Other than that..I like the way the soaps looks. Love the way it's packaged and I think it's cute that it comes with a semi-precious stone. Although I have no idea what to do with them. I wish Fresh would give some ideas. I love that it's wrapped in really cute paper that's plastic free.
I also looove the shape of the soap. It's an oval shape that I associate with luxury ever since I used the Chanel N5 soap that is the same shape.
It lathers well. Isn't too drying. And rinses clean.
Ingredients are typical for soap. I was happy to see Shea Butter. And surprised it doesn't have grapefruit oil.
Ingredients:
Sodium Palmate, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Aqua (Water), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Oil, Palm Kernel Acid, Palm Acid, Parfum (Fragrance), Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Hydroxide, Tetrasodium EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate, BHT, CI 77288 (Chromium Oxide Greens), CI 77289 (Chromium Hydroxide Green), CI 77499 (Iron Oxides), Limonene, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, Benzyl Benzoate, Citral <06711/A>
Overall it's fine. Nothing to write home about. Just a nice basic Grapefruit scented soap that's probably overpriced. I wouldn't buy this one again...but I will try other scents. The Waterlily soap is definitely my favorite from the brand so far.
