The Body Shop Shea Body Butter

The Body Shop makes a ton of body butter's with Shea Butter. This one has the highest content of Shea Butter..hence the name Shea Body Butter. I paid about eight to ten dollars for it. Much better than the retail price of nineteen bucks. I love taking advantage of their sales!

The Body Shop claims:
This super-rich and creamy Body Butter is a feast for the skin. It melts straight in to leave skin feeling soft and smooth. It contains Community Fair Trade shea butter and has a delicious nutty scent. 24-hour hydration Great for very dry skin Delicious nutty scent.

Our Community Fair Trade shea butter comes from Ghana. Local women hand-harvest shea nuts, dry them in the sun and crack them to extract the kernels. These are roasted and ground into a paste to make the butter. Our trade with the Tungteiya Women’s Shea Butter Association has helped to fund three medical centres and 10 nursery schools.

Right away I noticed this smells a million times better than the shower gel. It smell close to the bar soap in the same line but not as good. The bar soap smelled amazing. Again, it is pretty masculine but I kinda like it. A man could definitely use this one and get away with it. It isn't strong and doesn't linger all day.
The texture, as with most body butters from TBS, is great. It's pretty thick in the tub but spreads out nicely over the skin. It absorbs quickly and doesn't take long to rub in.  And the moisture is unbeatable!

It's packaged in a tub which I like. I know some people think it's unhygienic, but I'm fine with it because my hands are clean when I use it. And it's not going on my face. They have changed the sticker on the packaging of course but it's still the same product.

Ingredients:
Water (Solvent/Diluent), Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii) (Emollient),Cyclomethicone (Emollient), Cocoa (Theobroma Cacao) Butter (Emollient),  Glycerin (Humectant), Glyceryl Stearate (Emulsifier), PEG-100 Stearate (Surfactant), Cetearyl Alcohol (Emulsifier), Beeswax (Emulsifier/Emollient),Babassu (Orbignya Oleifera) Oil (Emollient),  Lanolin Alcohol (Stabiliser/Emollient), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Fragrance (Fragrance), Methylparaben (Preservative), Propylparaben (Preservative), Xanthan Gum (Viscosity Modifier), Benzyl Alcohol (Preservative), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Linalool, Coumarin, 3  Methyl-4, 3-buten-2-1, Limonene, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster), Citronellol, Citral,Geraniol, Citral, Geraniol, Eugenol, Caramel (Colour), F D & C Yellow No 5 (Colour)

Overall, I would recommend trying it. It does a good job as a moisturizer, the Shea butter is fair trade, and you can always find a good sale. Of course, nothing beats 100% Shea Butter, but if you don't like the smell or texture of the real stuff, I would recommend giving this a try. I do wish it had a little less chemical ingredient but at least they are further down.
