Project Pan #26

Moving right along with these project pans. It might seem a little silly but I think it really does teach me to appreciate and use the things I have and curb the always wanting and buying more. Well..not really the wanting. I already have my next shadow purchase planned out but I want to use a bit more of my collection before I Add to cart and Check out. But the Danessa Myricks Lightwork 4 is really calling my name.  Just look at it! The colors are all very special and are different than most of what I already own.

But back to Project Pan. Only four shades left in my Too Faced Semi-Sweet Palette. I used up two shades.  Rum Raisin was OK, not my favorite, but an easy color to wear everyday. It went quicker than I would have thought. Mousse was super easy to pan, makes a great blending out shade and some days I used it as a face powder. Now I have Caramel, which I am thinking about mixing into a DIY body cream. I just don't like it much as an eyeshadow. It just muddies up everything. I haven't used Bon Bon at all. I remember really liking to wear it with MAC Coral. So that might be my new go to for a little while.

I still use Puddin' in my eyebrows. And I love Pink Sugar. Those I will depot and add to my little mini palette to use whenever.

Of course still working on this primer...didn't take a new pic but I can definitely tell it's slowly getting used up.

I decided to add a lip pencil. This is Fab Fuschia from Wet N Wild. It's the color icon liner. I've had it forever and it just sits unused. The color is just not saturated like it should be. But then again I only paid like 50 cents back in the day. I'll just use it up wearing it as a lip color when I sit in the house and play in makeup. According to the brand page, this has been around 30 years??!?! Wow.

"Sunset and line! We don’t have a 30+ year cult following on these babies for nothing! We smile sheepishly every time we hear compliments for these guys. And let us just tell you, we’re smiling a lot! This rich, creamy formula glides on silky-smooth and makes sure your lip color doesn’t bleed so you’ll always have a well-defined pout. Makeup artists love to use this as a lipstick, applying it all over the lips. They last longer and make sure you’re not rocking that early 90s two-toned lip! As a matter of fact, Deborah Larsen, who previously worked as the Makeup Artist on the set of CW's Valentine, loves using wet n wild! "I am a huge fan of wet n wild. I love the whole line. My favorite product is the Lip liner in Brandy Wine" says Larsen."

Anyway, I don't think it will take too long to use. Maybe I can finish it in about two months....

And that's all!

Wet N Wild Color Icon Lipliner in Chestnut Review

I need to do more actual makeup reviews. I have the makeup and most of my opinions are formed...it's just the taking pictures and sitting down to actually write the review. I need to work on that. So I'll start with a Wet N Wild lip liner. I finally finished up the Fashion Fair liners I've had forever, and I was in need of some new liner. I kind of wanted to try the MAC liners. But...I just really didn't want to pay the $16 or so dollars. So I decided to try out the Wet N Wild liners.

Wet N Wild claims:

Made in China

So...30 years. That's a long time. I didn't know these liners were that popular. Most people rave over the eyeshadows...or the lipsticks. I don't think I've ever heard anyone rave over the liners. But.....they should!

I bought this one..and the Fab Fuchsia (review coming later on sometimes, I barely use that one because Chestnut is my go with everything go-to!).

So..basically these liners last all day, they prevent my color from bleeding (when I've blotted appropriately), and they make colors that would otherwise look clownish on me...look pretty good. Many times it will outlast my lip color.

It's smooth, and easy to apply. I usually apply it over my lip color as apposed to before.

Also..it's the perfect color. Not what I picture when I think of Chestnut. It's a rosy brown. Very rosy. And it blends in perfectly with most colors I use it with.

And it's dirt cheap. 99 cents. Sometimes it goes on sale and then it's even cheaper.

I can definitely see why it has been around 30 years.

Here I am wearing it with NARS Cruella. Which I wasn't a fan of until I paired it with this liner. Also ignore the bags. I didn't get much sleep last night!

Ingredients:
Beeswax/Cire d'abeille, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax/Cire de carnauba, Petrolatum, Ceresin, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Sorbic Acid, [+/- (MAY CONTAIN/PEUT CONTENIR): Mica, Iron Oxides/CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, Titanium Dioxide/CI 77891, Red 40 Lake/CI 16035, Red 7 Lake/CI 15850, Red 6 Lake/CI 15850, Yellow 5 Lake/CI 19140, Manganese Violet/CI 77742, Blue 1 Lake/CI 42090]

So to conclude, I love it. It's a favorite. It's worth a try!

Rimmel Exaggerate Full Color Lipliner in 018 Addiction

I reviewed a similar color to this not so long ago from the same brand.

Rimmel claims:
Rimmel Exaggerate is a soft-textured, automatic lip liner that delivers rich color and precise definition.

When I brought both of the liners home I was kind of mad at myself for buying shades that were so similar to each other. (I had Easton Snob too).

From the packaging it looks like a deep pink with a lot of brown in it. It's almost the same on the lips, except it's a bit lighter than I was thinking it was going to be. It works really well as a nude shade that almost disappears in with my skin tone. In fact, it blends in so well that I need to add a lipliner if I don't want to look weird.

In order to get it to full color I do have to pile it on. But I do have pretty pigmented lips.

Once the liner is on I really like the way it looks.

But the issue I have with it is not the color. I hate the quality of it. It breaks easily and often. I'm finding that I prefer pencil liners to automatic anyway.

As far as lasting power, it's OK. It doesn't come off immediately, I get a couple hours but I think other liners give longer wear. I haven't noticed any drying but I use a balm beforehand.

Overall, love the shade...but the quality is missing.

Rimmel Exaggerate #063 East End Snob Full Color Lip Liner

I don't go through lipliners very often. I know that basically every tutorial advises to use liners because they extend the wear of your lipstick-but I just don't have time to layer so much product on. I like throwing one thing on and heading out the door. But just for fun I bought these liners.

Rimmel claims:
Fine-tipped, precise automatic lip liner. Gives lips full volume colour and definition

I have two lipliners that are my go to. They are from Fashion Fair and I LOVE them. Whenever I have a color that looks a little clownish I add ones of those and it fixes the problem immediately. The colors I have are light brown and deep purple. I thought I would branch out so I picked this shade.

It seems that most recommend having a color that matches your lip color. I have two different colors on my lips which can make it kind of confusing. Am I supposed to use brown on the top and pink on the bottom? I don't think so. That rule seems only to apply if your lips are one color. Bummer.

Anyway, I got this because I thought it might help define some of the paler pink lipsticks I have. But I don't use it for that. I didn't find it made too much of a difference.

Most of the time I just put this on and some gloss on top when I want nude pink lips.

To be honest, even though I've been using it, I don't like it. First off, it's soft so it breaks off all the time. I'm not sure if thats because it's automatic because I find I have better luck with actual pencils.  Second of all, the color swatches richly on my hand but goes on my lips extremely patchy and uneven. The rich color that shows up on my hand does not show up on my lips. After a little time trying to get it on, it does show up but after all the trouble I go through to get it on- it doesn't last very long.

I don't like it at all.

Unfortunately for me I bought another shade that's pretty similar to this one. I really should buy things one at a time and buy more once I KNOW I like them.

NYC Lip Pencil in Naughty Nude

I'm not much of a lipliner girl. In fact, this is the first one I've ever bought. But I like trying new things and this was only ninety nine cents.

I like this but at the same time, I don't. I have no idea why they call this a nude. It looks like a reddish brown on me. It's very subtle. The photo makes it look more pink than it actually is. As all lipliners are it is very matte but you cann definitely kick it up a notch by adding clear gloss or ever a colored gloss.

Overall, it was nice, not a re-purchase and not something that blew me away. I'll have to try the brown one, one day.
