Poppy and Pout Pomegranate Peach Lip Balm Review

It's Christmas! I'm just kicking around after making breakfast- watching some more Christmas movies so I figured I can knock out the two posts I have been wanting to get up.  Starting with lip balm from my new favorite lip balm brand. I reviewed the Marshmallow Creme scent of this not too long ago and I still have quite a bit left. So these do last forever.

Poppy and Pout claims:

Sweet, fruity, and absolutely addicting. This is one of our best selling flavors!

A little bit sweet, super fruity, and absolutely addicting. Pomegranate Peach is one of those combos that just makes sense. It is just the right amount of fruity and sweet, making it one of our most popular flavors.

Our natural lip balm formula is as smooth as can be. Each cardboard tube is filled from the bottom to the top with lip hydrating goodness. Once you’re done, make sure to recycle; our ingredients come straight from Mother Earth, and we like to give right back!

100% Natural, Eco Friendly, Cruelty Free

They have all kinds of interesting scents and perusing the sight I see they came out with a bunch more which I'm hoping stick around because I really want to try some of those.

My favorite thing about these is no plastic! It's all paper so you can just chuck it in the paper recycle when finished. The packaging is not perfect- it can be a little hard to roll up and down and I always worry about it when I just chuck it into my bag but so far, it's been fine. I prefer it over plastic and wish more lip balm producers would make the switch!

One thing I love about this is how big it is. It's larger than other balms and seems to last forever so even though it's kinda pricey I do feel like I get my moneys worth. I think I usually get these on sale too which is nice.

This particular scent is pomegranate peach. It mostly smells like a fruity fruit punch. I like the scent. It's nothing remarkable or anything super unique to write home about but it's nice.

The ingredients are all natural. And it contains beeswax which is my favorite when it comes to lip balm. I find it smooths out lips better and sticks around longer.

Ingredients:

Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Oil**, Natural Flavor Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis, Tocopherol (Vitamin E)**

Overall, I'm a fan. I plan on trying every scent!

Samples Review: Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream, Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

The weather has changed. Out of nowhere it has HOT. I'm actually considering seeing if I can hook up my air conditioning to avoid some of the heat that is already collecting in my place. But anywho....today we've got two little samples here...and I have a third Laneige Toner but I haven't cracked into it yet. I'll definitely review it once I start using it though...

Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream Moisturizer

I got a deluxe sample of this from Sephora. I haven't tried a lot of Korean Skincare- but I know it's still all the rage. It is made in Korea and the regular size comes in a refillable pot. So it's a bit kinder to the environment. That being said, it's not for me. It adds a little too much hydration to my skin that is oily combination. I feel like if I put makeup on top I really need to powder it down. I also couldn't tell if it was making my skin break out, I got the hugest pimple when I started using it and then little white heads. Also my skin seemed to feel smoother before I started using it.  I've been using it a few weeks now and no more reactions now. I also don't really love all the acrylates and dimethicones in the ingredients. Not really a product for me. But glad I got to try it.

Next up, the "sleeping mask". I saw these everywhere at one point. You are supposed to wear it overnight while you sleep. Nevermind that you can do the same with basically any lip balm. And I usually do when I remember. I have the little sampler in the berry scent. Which I thought I didn't like the scent at first but it's actually OK. I barely smell it once I put it on. It's a very thick and glossy product. It's also very expensive and I don't think it's worth the price- nor the hype. I think I would like it better if it was more reasonably priced. Maybe if you have problematic lips? I also am not a fan of the extremely long ingredients list- although it does have some goodies in it like the coconut oil, murmur butter, and shea butter. I can't see myself purchasing it. The free sample was fine. The original pot doesn't seem to be refillable. I wish I could tell if it was glass or plastic...hmmm.

And that's all! I'll probably be back with at least one more post later on today....

Poppy and Pout Marshmallow Creme Lip Balm Review

Meant to do this review yesterday- the only excuse I have is I was busy watching The Last of Us and then got lazy. This season still isn't good at all to me. I read that they are splitting the season up and I think I am just going to give up watching after this season.  Is there one more episode? I don't see how they can justify breaking up the season... The only thing I like about it is how much it reminds me of playing the game....

But lip balm..not as crucial in the summer/spring months as the winter but still needed. Especially if you have big lips like me.  I bought this as an add on a few months ago. Definitely on the pricier side, but I think it's worth it!

Poppy and Pout claims:

If you’re looking for something a little more on the sweet side, our Marshmallow Creme Lip Balm is for you! It’s the perfect way to hydrate your lips and will leave you feeling sugary sweet.

Our natural lip balm formula is as smooth as can be. Each cardboard tube is filled from the bottom to the top with lip hydrating goodness. Once you’re done, make sure to recycle; our ingredients come straight from Mother Earth, and we like to give right back!

Net Weight 0.30 oz / 8.5gHandmade in Idaho, USA

They have more unique sounding scents but for some reason I was really feeling Marshmallow at the time. I don't think I've ever had a marshmallow balm. I was really just expecting some variation of vanilla but it is reminiscent of Marshmallows.....I think it could be more marshmallow-y but at least it's not just a basic vanilla.

It doesn't have a taste. Not even a hint of sweet. Which is fine. Less likely to just sit there licking it off..

It's also pretty hydrating. I don't feel like it dries my lips nor do I feel dependent on it.

The only issue I have is the packaging. It's cardboard so it's easy to recycle. Yay for more earth friendly. But I can't get it up and down because you push it up and no matter how hard I pushed I couldn't get it back down.  I've been keeping it covered. But definitely couldn't travel with it. It's a home lip balm for me. The packaging wouldn't keep me from buying again but it is kinda annoying.

It get's bonus points for being completely natural.

Ingredients:

Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower)Oil**, Natural Flavor Oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E)**

Overall, I like it. I want to get my hands on the other scents especially the Pomegranate Peach and the Blue Razaloo balm. They are on the pricey side but I like them and would recommend if you are ok with the packaging.

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Lips Hydration Restore Lip Balm Review

Almost forgot I wanted to do a post today- I've been going back and forth on if I want to order a comforter set for my back bedroom. It's a floral set...that I think would go with the bed nicely but not necessarily my style. But moreso my style than what is currently in there. So hard to make a decision. Hopefully I can figure it out before they take the set off sale.  Or before I finish this post.

But back to the balm.

La Roche- Posay claims:

ICAPLAST LIPS barrier texture protects against irritation, repairs and soothes immediately.

RESULTS Immediate effect: Softens immediately after application.
Optimal compatibility.
Tested on sensitive lips.

I feel my lips have been a bit dryer than usual this winter season. So you won't find me without a lip balm. Although sometimes I do use Cocoa or Shea Butters when they are close to me. I was running low on my last balm so I picked this up. I haven't tried anything from this brand before but I had heard a lot of good things about them. It's a french brand- made in France. And it's priced as so since I did pay around $10 for it. Which was quite pricey.

I prefer a more natural balm and I could tell from looking at the product it was not what I typically go for. But I wanted to try it anyway.

It comes in a standard tube. Reminds me of something you might get from Vaseline. But it actually doesn't have Petroleum.

The first thing I noticed was how hard it was to squeeze out. As I've used it up it's gotten easier but it was annoying to use in the beginning. Especially considering the price point.

As for hydration- as long as you keep it on your lips it feels smoothing and hydrating. But when it wears off it made my lips feel dry so I was running to apply more. Makes you a bit dependent on it. It doesn't dry my lips to the point they are flaking or peeling- just a mild dryness really.

Ingredients:

CAPRYLIC / CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDESPPG-5 PENTAERYTHRITYL ETHERPEG-5 PENTAERYTHRITYL ETHERBUTYROSPERMUM PARKII BUTTER / SHEA BUTTERCERA ALBA / BEESWAXPANTHENOLHYDROGENATED VEGETABLE OILETHYLHEXYL PALMITATESILICA SILYLATEPOLYBUTENE• GLYCINE SOYBEAN STEROLS •AQUA / WATERSODIUM SACCHARINMYRISTYL MALATE PHOSPHONIC ACIDPENTAERYTHRITYL TETRA-DI-T-BUTYL HYDROXYHYDROCINNAMATE

Overall, not something I would buy again. There are better priced and better performing balms out there.

L'occitane Ultra Rich Lip Balm Review

It's crusty dusty lip season. Which means I need a great lip balm. I have big lips and having big dry lips isn't it. So I always keep the lip balm on deck. Well, I keep one and then have a backup. Because I always misplace one so I need to know where that second one is- just in case I need it.

L'occitane claims:

Moisturize and nourish lips with this rich balm.

Give dry lips a moisture-boost with this nourishing balm. Infused with Shea Butter, twist up for softer and more moisturize lips wherever you go.

Made in France

I had this in my Amazon shopping cart for a minute but every time I ordered from Amazon I would take it out my cart because I met my shipping minimum. Or I just didn't need a new lip balm. I try not to buy too many backups of most things- except soaps. Soap I stockpile...but I go through them pretty quickly.

But back to the lip balm. I bought this in the duty free shop in the airport before I went on vacation a couple months back. I don't remember exactly how much I paid for it....couldn't have been more than six euro though.

We will start with the scent- the packaging and the scent reminds me of lip balms I used to buy from Nivea back in the day. I was actually surprised by the scent- I kinda thought it would be unscented but it smells pretty nice. It's just a nice inoffensive scent. I like it. It's not strong though so it's not going to smell beyond when you apply it.

Otherwise it's nice and smoothing. Doesn't dry out my lips. Feels nice and hydrating on. Most of the time it's moisturizing enough that I don't feel I have to re-apply it. So I don't feel "dependent" on it or like it dries my lips out.

It can feel on the thicker side- I like that. I feel like it's really hydrating and protecting my lips. Which is great in cold weather...or even dry heat.

After looking at the ingredients I can almost see why it reminds me of the Nivea balms. It does have Shea Butter really high up though and my favorite ingredient in a lip balm which is wax- beeswax/candellia. I do think there are cleaner ingredient lips balms and I can't say I'm a fan of the hydrogenated oils.

Ingredients:

OCTYLDODECANOL - BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER - C10-18 TRIGLYCERIDES - EUPHORBIA CERIFERA CERA/EUPHORBIA CERIFERA (CANDELILLA) WAX - HYDROGENATED COCO-GLYCERIDES - HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL - CERA ALBA/BEESWAX - C18-36 ACID GLYCOL ESTER - C18-36 ACID TRIGLYCERIDE - RICINUS COMMUNIS (CASTOR) SEED OIL - SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS (JOJOBA) SEED OIL - SUCROSE TETRASTEARATE TRIACETATE - TOCOPHERYL ACETATE - PARFUM/FRAGRANCE - BENZYL BENZOATE - ALPHA-ISOMETHYL IONONE .

Overall, I like it. I'm not mad I bought it and if I were traveling and needed a lip balm- I would pick this one up again in the airport.

John Master's Organics Lip Calm Review

It's been a week...I have just been reading about all the devastation that Hurricane Helene has caused. Luckily my family back home are all OK, they were without power and water for four days...but everyone is safe. Also they had access to their phones the whole time  sowe were able to keep in contact, I can't imagine not having contact as I know so many didn't have access to internet. I probably woulda have lost my mind.  Crazy times though and I cannot wait until Hurricane Season is over.

John Master's Organics claims:

An USDA-Certified Organic, award-winning balm that helps to soften and deeply hydrate lips.

Ocean Plastic Rescue

2 bottles rescued for every 1 item purchased

Made in USA

It's also dry, crusty lip season. Unless you are armed with a good lip balm. Like this one.

I bought this because I still wanna make sure I am trying new brands instead of getting stuck on the same old ones. Usually when I need a new lip balm I am checking out the Burt's Bees ones. Those are some of the best and widely available balms. I wasn't sure which one to get, it comes in a variety of flavors- ultimately I just went for the original.

This one is citrus-y. I actually really like the scent . It's juicy without being artificial and reminds of the zest and rind of an orange/lemon. Even tastes like it.

This lip balm is different from most balms. Usually I love a waxy balm- full of beeswax because it lasts the longest and really sticks to your lips. I was surprised the first time I used this because it does not feel like it has any wax (it does though!) . It does feel like it has a lot of oils. Usually the problem with oil based balm is they can go on and not feel smoothing...they can feel greasy and then wear off and your lips feels drier. Not this one. It's so smoothing and hydrating. It wears off and my lips feel soft and normal.

It does have a sheen/gloss to it. My preference these days is matte lip balm. But you can always let it sit for awhile and then wipe off the shine.

The ingredients are nice. I'm surprised to see the main oil is Sunflower. Usually I prefer things to not contain that oil as it is a rather cheap one but the formula works so I can't complain too much.

Ingredients:

Sunflower Oil, Beeswax, Olive oil, Jojoba Oil, Tangerine Peel Oil, Lemon Peel Oil, Lime Oil, Linseed Oil, Borage Oil, Rosehip Oil, Limonene, Linalool, Geraniol, Citral, Citronellol

Another negative is the price. It's an 8.00 lip balm. There are pricier out there...but there are also ones that are easier on the wallet that work just as well. I would still repurchase again, I am still especially interested in the Cherry Blossom and Rose scents. I might order them later on when I am in need to re-up the lip balm stash.

Kneipp Repair and Prevent Melissa and Chamomile Lip Balm Review

I've just finished Dance Session number three...one more to go! I have been doing little 25 minute sessions.....makes it easier to get done rather than wearing myself out with one go. And in the meantime, here we have post number two.

Kneipp claims:

100% natural lip care with valuable extracts of chamomile and lemon balm for highly stressed lips. Intensive care and repair of dry and brittle lips with immediate effect. Protects against drying out again with regular use.

** The formula with proven depot effect provides the lips long-lasting and intensive care.

Unbelievable but true: Our sustainable cap is made of Paper Blend, an innovative, paper-like material made of natural raw materials.

Now even more sustainable packaging: The carton of the folding box consists of at least 35% of the fibers of the Silphie plant. Thanks to their regional cultivation, long transport routes and thus large amounts of CO2 can be saved. We deliberately refrain from bleaching, so the material retains its natural color. Silphie is an annually renewable raw material of our regional ecosystem, serves as a food source for bees and other insects and thus promotes the preservation of biodiversity.

Made in Germany

I really like the Kneipp brand. I was in need of a lip balm and also needed to make the order minimum on some stuff I was buying so I added this to my order. They have some amazing bath oils and bubble baths so I really want to try more of the brand.

I really like this lip balm. It has great ingredients- it feels very much like beeswax..but I can't find it in the ingredients. I love a beeswax balm. They are just the best at smoothing and sealing in the moisture. I don't know how they made this feel like it has a wax and yet no wax.

So it does hydrate, it does smooth and it doesn't dry out my skin. It smells nice and natural, I don't know how else to describe the scent except to say that I really like it. It's not very noticeable most of the time and it doesn't smell artificial or anything.

I love almost everything about this balm- except the packing. I could not figure out the packaging and so I broke it, broke some of the plastic off..and now the lid does not stay on and it doesn't twist up. Also I smushed some of the balm into the top. I can't travel with it at all and when it fall over the lid falls off every single time.  I don't know if it's just me or I bought one with bad packaging...but I love the lip balm and hate the packaging.

The ingredients are top. I have no complaints whatsoever about the ingredients.

Ingredients:

Rhus Verniciflua Peel Cera, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil**, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter**, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil**, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil**, Candelilla Cera, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Melissa Officinalis Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil Expressed, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Limonene, Linalool, Citral, Benzyl Salicylate, Geraniol, Parfum (Fragrance), Tocopherol. **from controlled organic cultivation

Overall, great product- terrible packaging. I would still buy more of the lip balms because I like the product inside so much..and they have a ton to choose from!

Mario Badescu Rose Lip Balm Review

I baked up my double chocolate chip cookies last night and took them to work today and went over so well! I think I have another staple cookie recipe to add to my rotation...I really should save my favorites. I think one day I want to start a cookie shop or something else like it.

Anyway...lip balm. It's that time of the year to not be without lip balm. I have big lips so it's extra important that I keep the lip ask away. I bought a few things from Mario Badescu because it's been a brand I've been curious about.

Mario Badescu claims:

Ultra-moisturizing, Rose-infused balm for petal-soft lips

It's a surprisingly affordable brand- especially if you wait for a sale. I bought mine on sale from Nordstrom for $6.80.Not the best price for just a lip balm but then again I have seen them priced higher.

First thing I noticed about it was the scent. It has the prettiest, light rose scent. It's not overpowering and fades away pretty quickly but for a minute it just puts me into a happy place. Really lovely scent unlike any other lip balm scent I have ever used.

Also it does work. The texture is really like vaseline and adds hydration and smooths lips out. It doesn't wear off and make my lip noticeably drier, nor does it seem to dry my lips over time. It really is a pretty nice product.

The only thing I don't like are the ingredients. I thought Mario Badescu was a more natural brand and I bought a few things without reading the ingredients. It has a few things I like but I really wish it skipped on ingredients like Dimethicone, Hydrogenated Polydecene,  vinyls, and polymers. I just would rather not have those in products I am potentially eating.

ingredients:

Hydrogenated Polydecene, Cocoglycerides, Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer, Dimethicone, Brassica Glycerides, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Glyceryl Behenate, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Jojoba Esters, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Wax, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Silica Silylate, Silica, Cera Alba (Beeswax, Cire d´abeille), Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Raspberry Seed Oil/Tocopheryl Succinate Aminopropanediol Esters, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Glyceryl Rosinate, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil Unsaponifiables, Acacia Decurrens Flower Cera, Tocopherol, Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer, Candelilla Cera (Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Cire De Candelilla), Polysorbate 80, Polyglycerin-3, Linoleic Acid, Hydrolyzed Corn Starch, Sucralose, Aroma (Flavor), Linolenic Acid, Hydrated Silica, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate

Overall, I like it except some ingredients I could do without. I probably wouldn't buy it again, I was curious about the Peppermint variety but I think I'll stick to the Burt's Bee's original as my go to mint balm because I like the ingredients better.

Lip Smacker Fanta Grape Review

I'm feeling sad right now so to distract myself I want to get a blog post (as opposed to shopping the sadness away) . No matter what I did last night, I could not fall asleep, then I woke up early to drop my family off to the airport (the traffic was crazy), I was getting my family a luggage cart and this man asks me where the entrance was. I told him I think it's further down- I'm not an airport expert. He looked at me like and was like Oh, you don't know? I thought you worked at the airport.  I was in jeans, a T-Shirt, and a pink zip up hoodie with my scarf on. Last time I checked all airport employees wear uniforms. I probably caught an attitude when I said "NO, I don't work at the airport". I was literally trying to grab a cart for the fam. I'm pretty sure he only assumed I worked at the airport because I'm black. People are ridiculous. Even in Germany.

Anyway...back to lip balm.

Lip Smacker claims:

Together in one really cool, collectible tin, enjoy a variety of refreshingly authentic Coca-Cola flavored Lip Smacker lip balms that are as good for your lips as they taste! Since 1973, Lip Smacker has put smiles on lips around the globe. Each carefully crafted lip balm is inspired by our endless flavors, variety of colors and 40+ years of evolving style. The flavor combinations are endless – mix and match to find your own lip softening, smile inducing, deliriously happy moment because at Lip Smacker, we hope our authentic flavors, scents and colorfully designed products make you happy. We invite you to discover our world, explore our brand and find your favorites.

Finally on my very last Lip Smacker lip balm. After these, it's likely I won't be picking up anymore. Mostly because they used to be made in the USA, and then they moved production to China- which took American jobs away. IDK, but that just doesn't sit right with me.

Way back in the day Grape soda was my favorite and the one I always drank was Welch's. I haven't had one in forever but I remember liking it. Tasted nothing like grape though. I don't think I would like it these days though.

This kinda smells a bit sour- and like a mix of Welch's Grape Juice and Grape medicine. It's OK.

It's not gritty like some of  the Lip Smacker's can be. It's very smoothing, softening, and hydrating but you have to re-apply often.

It goes on pretty thick and glossy so my favorite way to apply it is just put it on, let it set for a few minutes and wipe the excess off. Otherwise I don't really like the feeling of it sitting on my lips- I didn't use to mind though so not sure why I do now.

Even wiping it off, it's pretty sweet tasting.

Overall, it's OK. Nothing I have to have again and nothing that really stands out about it. Now I'm off to grab a cup of coffee cause I'm getting sleepy...

Lip Smacker Fanta Strawberry Review

Does anyone ever buy Fanta in flavors other than orange?

I want to use this up, so that's the only reason why I am reviewing this today. I think I might throw it away or try to use it as a body balm. I just want it gone by tomorrow...

Lip Smacker claims:

Quench your thirst with a Fanta Strawberry Cup lip balm! Twist open and open your senses to the world of Coca-Cola. The dome-shaped lip balm delivers the authentic taste of Fanta while providing extended hydration to your lips. The iconic fountain cup design is sure to make an impression whenever you use it!

When I first opened this I thought it had a nice sour strawberry scent but as I kept using it there's an off putting note to the sourness of it. Sometimes it's OK, other times it's a bit putrid.

The texture is another thing I dislike. It works like all other Smacker balms and delivers a hit of moisture- but it's gritty. I really, really dislike that gritty feeling and combining that with the sour note....it's not for me.

I think they were made somewhere in the midwest a few years back, and I really liked that because it supported the US economy and US jobs. They are now made in China. I'm not a big fan of companies that change where they manufacture because it helps them save money and I hate the fact that US jobs were lost.

Ingredients:

Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Cetyl Acetate, Beeswax/Cire dabeille, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax/Cire de Candelilla, Flavor/Aroma, Polybutene, Paraffin, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax/Cire de Carnauba, Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Mineral Oil/Huile Minerale, Propylene Glycol, Acetylated Lanolin Alcohol, Microcrystalline Wax/Cire Microcristalline, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Stearic Acid, Sucralose, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf/Stem Extract, Propyl Gallate, Citric Acid, Red 6 Lake (CI 15850), Red 7 Lake (CI 15850), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140).

I don't like it, probably won't be buying anymore lip smackers. There are better Strawberry lip balms out there. Moving on to the grape now and I will finally be done with the multi-pack.

Lip Smacker Fanta Orange Review

Who loves orange soda (lip balm?)

I'm one of those people that can't talk about orange soda without going into Full Kel mode. I never get tired of it.

Lip Smacker claims:

Quench your thirst with a Fanta Orange lip balm! Twist open and open your senses to the world of Coca-Cola. The dome-shaped lip balm delivers the authentic taste
of Fanta Orange while providing extended hydration to your lips.

I bought this in the soda party pack and am almost through it. Just three more balms to go and I will be all done. I think I'm getting a bit sick of the party pack. Orange soda is my favorite and Fanta is probably the most popular orange soda. This doesn't smell much like orange soda. It smells like the Flintstone vitamins you get. I was expecting it to remind me more of actual orange soda so it was bit disappointing. It's Ok.

As for the actual balm, it works Ok. But I feel it can dry your lips after awhile and you will have to keep re-applying. It also goes on pretty thick so I tend to put it on and then wipe most of it off. I just haven't really liked that thick balm feeling lately.

It does have a really sweet taste. This has been the sweetest of the pack. It does taste sweet and similar to Orange Soda.

Ingredients are Ok but you can find more simple ingredient lip balms that are more effective.

Ingredients:
Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Cetyl Acetate, Beeswax/Cire dabeille, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax/Cire de Candelilla, Flavor/Aroma, Polybutene, Paraffin, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax/Cire de Carnauba, Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Mineral Oil/Huile Minerale, Propylene Glycol, Acetylated Lanolin Alcohol, Microcrystalline Wax/Cire Microcristalline, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Stearic Acid, Sucralose, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf/Stem Extract, Propyl Gallate, Citric Acid, Red 6 Lake (CI 15850), Red 7 Lake (CI 15850), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140).

I think they were made somewhere in the midwest a few years back, and I really liked that because it supported the US economy and US jobs. They are now made in China. I'm not a big fan of companies that change where they manufacture because it helps them save money and I hate the fact that US jobs were lost.

Overall, it's not bad. But nothing I would repurchase.

Lip Smacker Barq's Root Beer Review

Famous Old Tyme Root Beer

Root Beer reminds me of child hood and root beer floats. I feel like I haven't had one of those since I was five, but I also feel like I can remember exactly what they taste like. I don't know if I thought it was good, but I was into anything sugary at that age. There seem to be three famous Root Beer brands, Barg's, Mugs, and A&W. I feel like I've had A&W the most but my favorite would be Virgils Root Beer- because they use real sugar and I like craft anything better than something super mass produced. But let's talk lip balm.

Lip Smacker claims:

Great-Tasting Treats. Party Fun! Enjoy the authentic taste of your favorite beverage flavors in a lip gloss thats as good for your lips as it tastes! Coca-Cola flavored Lip Smacker lip glosses offer smoothing moisture and lip refreshment in one. Party Pack assortment means you can take one with you wherever you go.

I got this in the lip Smacker party pack. I just had to have it as a throwback to childhood. I'm pretty sure I had this flavor as a kid. Or maybe back then it was A&W. But this is Root Beer in a lip balm. They did an excellent job of capturing the scent. The only thing it's missing is the cold, fizziness. They get an A++ for the scent though.

As for the lip balm- not that great. It's a bit gritty and you have to re-apply on repeat It should be smoother. I recently opened an original Burt's Bees balm and those feel so smooth and hydrating and long lasting. This just doesn't measure up. Especially with the recent price hikes.

I think they were made somewhere in the midwest a few years back, and I really liked that because it supported the US economy and US jobs. They are now made in China. I'm not a big fan of companies that change where they manufacture because it helps them save money and I hate the fact that US jobs were lost.

It has a lot of ingredients- some good, some bad. Personally I like a shorter ingredient list for lip balms. To have so many ingredients and the formula not being that great seems like a waste.

I think so far of all the ones I've tried in the pack- this is most like its soda counterpart. While it was fun trying out the pack, after it's gone I won't be buying any more Smackers.

Lip Smacker Sprite Lip Balm Review

It's Juneteenth! I kinda feel like I keep missing the opportunity to do Juneteenth stuff and cook Juneteenth meals so I definitely need to get it togetherfor next year. Anyway, quick review. Only because I want to review this and throw it out. It belongs in the trash.

Lip Smacker:

  • Lip Smacker CocaCola with great sprite aroma and super moisture complex - for those who love sprite!
  • This lip balm pen combines authentic design and taste of the typical CocaCola Sprite
  • Lipstick fits in any pocket - ideal for on the go
  • Great gift idea for birthdays, Christmas, or as a gift for giving as a gift, recommended for children aged 6 and over

When I was a kid, Sprite was my favorite soda. Only because it was my brothers favorite and I liked copying him at that time.

As for reminding me of Sprite? Nope. It's just generic bubbly soda scent. I wouldn't guess that it was Sprite at all. Also I think Sprite is supposed to be lemon lime flavored and you get none of that.

The reason I hate this and I'm throwing it away after this post is because it has a white tint to it. And it leaves me looking unwell. You could use this product to get Dave's look below...

It's also gritty.

And this last party pack is the last one I will be buying from the brand.  I think they were made somewhere in the midwest, and I really liked that because that it supported the US economy and US jobs. They are now made in China.

Ingredients are a mixed bag. There are some great oils and waxes but then it does also contain mineral oil and hydrogenated oil. Probably still not the best ingredient list because you do end up eating a bit of the product since it's on your lips.

Ingredients:

Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Cetyl Acetate, Beeswax/Cire dabeille, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax/Cire de Candelilla, Flavor/Aroma, Polybutene, Paraffin, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax/Cire de Carnauba, Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Mineral Oil/Huile Minerale, Propylene Glycol, Acetylated Lanolin Alcohol, Microcrystalline Wax/Cire Microcristalline, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Stearic Acid, Sucralose, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf/Stem Extract, Propyl Gallate, Citric Acid, Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090), Red 7 Lake (CI 15850), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140).

This is definitely the worst Lip Smacker I have ever tried.
