I love Shea Butter and was so excited to try out this cream. I paid eight bucks for it. Of course the packaging has changed. It looks a little bit better...but not much. I have the old packaging.
The Body Shop claims:
Spoil your skin with a moisturizing, soap-free cleanser full of rich, creamy, skin-softening lather and a classic, clean scent.
Our Community Fair Trade shea butter comes from Ghana. Local women hand-harvest shea nuts, dry them in the sun and crack them to extract the kernels. These are roasted and ground into a paste to make the butter. Our trade with the Tungteiya Women’s Shea Butter Association has helped to fund three medical centres and 10 nursery schools. So to start off, I don't like any of the creams from The Body Shop. They all have a weird scent to them. I think it's the base they use. Other than the weird scent it has, it kinda smell masculine. And while I loved the scent of this in bar soap I'm not a big fan of this in the liquid form. It doesn't linger though.
Other than the scent being kind of off, the lather off this sucks. The bubbles disappear so quickly. The only reason why this bothers me so much is because of all the chemicals it has in it. If something has as many chemicals as this it should lather. And since it doesn't I tend to use tons of this.
One thing that's a little different with this cream is that it is very liquid-y and runny. The other creams are a bit thicker.
The only good thing about this is how moisturizing it is. My skin feels moist after.
Ingredients:
Water, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, PEG-5 Cocamide, Coco-Glucoside, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Fragrance, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Hydroxide, Disodium EDTA, Linalool, Tocopherol, Coumarin, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Limonene, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Citronellol, Citral, Geraniol, Eugenol, Caramel, Yellow 6.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend it.(unless your looking for moisture) The scent and the lather are too disappointing.
