I'm trying to stay on the blogging train now that I've gotten on. The one thing that is mostly occupying my time is watching Ancestry DNA vids on youtube. My sister left for Africa (today!) and as part of the trip she got an Ancestry DNA test done. We looked at her results before Thanksgiving and they were interesting. Definitely not what I expected at all. Since siblings can inherit different DNA, I wanted to test my DNA to see how similar or different it is to her so I ordered my own kit-and am waiting on pins and needles for it. I will probably do a full post on it once I get my results. Which will hopefully be before Christmas. But in the meantime, I have an oil to review.
Aura Cacia:
Pressed from the peels of ripe oranges, sweet orange essential oil is like a burst of sunshine on a fresh summer day. Sweet orange oil will lift your spirits, brighten your mood and refresh the air around you. Sweet orange's gentle, clarifying nature cheers the heart and brightens the mood. Diffuse it often to maintain a wholesome, positively charged atmosphere
United States, Peel, Citrus Sinensis
This is another one I'm not really sure what I intended to use it for before I bought it. I just bought it and figured I would figure it out when I got it. I like the Aura Cacia brand, they are easy to find and pretty affordable. I think I paid nearly four dollars for this one and you get 15 ml. Which is decent for the money.
I don't know what I used most of the bottle for. Probably using it mixed into some water as an air refresher. Maybe I mixed some into oils as a scented body oil too. I don't recall. Towards the last half of the bottle, I started using it in my diffuser. Orange is probably one of my favorite oils of all times to diffuse. Especially with a drop of patchouli. It's my happy smell.
Which makes sense because orange oil is said to be a great mood booster. The only thing is I do have to use quite a few drops to really get the scent I want.
I almost forgot to describe the scent. It's basically the exact smell you get when you peel an orange. Exactly like that.
I did read it's supposed to help brighten skin. I haven't tried it for that. But I should get on that since it's winter and this is an oil you want to stay out of the sun after applying for about 12 hours. Maybe more.
It's a kid safe oil. But it's best to use caution in pregnancy. And of course if you have any medical conditions or are on medication be sure to consult your doctor.
It's one of my favorite oils for diffusing. And I almost bought four new bottles because they were on sale, but i passed it up because I had just recently bought a big bottle blood orange oil to replace this now that it's gone.
I haven't tried many different orange oils but I do like this one. I'm going to try more and then come back to this and see how it holds up...but so far I really like it!
