I just finished season 2 of White Lotus. My favorite thing about the show being the bright eyeshadow. I don't know many people that rock vibrant shades on a daily basis (besides myself) and you don't see it on many characters on TV. Not so with this show. I see bright blue shadow, greens, turquoise. I don't know why more people don't rock color.
Jo Malone claims:
English Pear & Freesia by Jo Malone London is a Chypre Fruity fragrance for women. English Pear & Freesia was launched in 2010. The nose behind this fragrance is Christine Nagel. Top notes are Pear and Melon; middle notes are Freesia and Rose; base notes are Musk, Patchouli, Rhuburb and Amber.
Jo Malone presents new fragrance, English Pear and Freesia, which unites English landscapes and seasons which are connected with souls of the British.
Inspiration for this fragrance were also verses by one of the last great romantic poets, John Keats (Ode to Autumn).
Jo Malone's creative studio chose a perfumer for this collection. That is Christine Nagel known for numerous successful creations (Miss Dior Cherie, Narciso Rodriguez, Rose Absolue, Delices etc). The fragrance is ripe, juicy and thoroughly designed.
Nuances of freesia and pear are very complex, since ripe pears were necessary to achieve a certain note to sound unique in composition of the fragrance.
Pear in the moment of perfect ripeness has crispy structure of skin and juicy fruit. Pear is combined with quince which introduces honey sweetness and is surrounded with white freesia and wild climbing rose.
A base of the composition is created of green, fresh and sour nuances of rhubarb along with warm and subtle aromas of patchouli, amber and white musk that stay in a trail.
Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia is available as 30 and 100ml EDC. The fragrance arrives on the market in September 2010.
This is my first Jo Malone cologne. I've tried a candle and a body wash. And I do have the candle version of this scent too. Just haven't gotten around to reviewing it.
From what I have read this is supposed to be their most popular scent. So generally a crowd pleaser.
But it's just OK for me. . It's fruity, floral, and very fresh. It does smell like it has real petals from roses in it.. The rose notes are very strong and really lovely. It's one of the scents that defines fruity floral..which is a category of scent I really enjoy. If you have tried other fruity florals- this type of scent will feel very familiar although I think it smells different to others in the genre. It's also very fresh. Or that's what I have been told by those that have smelled it on me.
I like it. And I can tell you the notes of it that I really like (pear, rose, possibly freesia but I don't know what real Freesia smells like) . But there is a note of something that is kind of off for me. It's just something sour about it that I smell shorty after I spritz it. Maybe it's the melon note? Possibly the Rhubarb? I'm not too sure.
But other than that it's a nice scent that I'm sure most people would love. It doesn't smell cheap- I don't think I could find a cheaper alternative- but I haven't really looked. If I do find something I will come back and update this post. I feel like with Jo Malone scents I can smell the quality of it.
It's been around since 2010. So that makes it around 15 years old. I consider that to be young in terms of fragrance. It smells like a more modern scent which is nice as well.
Jo Malone is known not to last very long. These are colognes so I made sure to overspray ...really layer it on. Spray it on your clothes and that will help it last longer and project a bit more. It's not a headache inducing type of scent for me so I found it fine to do that. You will use it up quickly if you do that so maybe not the most cost effective. I still forgot I was wearing it most days though.
I bought mine in sampler set when I went to the states. When I go back, I tend to love bringing a perfume back with me. I think I bought it on sale.
I think it's worth a sniff if you love a fresh, fruity, floral. I won't be purchasing the full size but I'm excited to review the other four that came in the set. I would still buy other products in the scent because I think I would really enjoy it as soap/hand soap and the candle review is coming soon!
Have you tried any Jo Malone colognes?
