Qorma-E-Sabzi (Spinach Stew)

I'm supposed to be cooking down a list of Afghan sweets-but I think I had been making too many sweets. So I picked a veggie recipe off the site.

Spinach stew! I already kind of knew I wouldn't like it much. Spinach was one of the most hated veggies in my child hood. As an adult, I will eat it. My favorite way is in green smoothies where you really can't take all that spinach-ness going on. Every now and again I might eat it cooked but I don't like it.

But I figured I would try it anyway. Because it's good for me.

And I didn't like it. It wasn't bad overall. It's just I added the full amount of fresh cilantro and I hate cilantro. Super hate it. But I think if you like cilantro and spinach-it's not that bad.

I did kind of mess up just a tad and bought already seasoned frozen spinach. Whoops. But I don't think it makes a big difference. Even though the recipe specifies frozen-I think fresh would have been better!

You can check the recipe here.

I made Chicken Tikka to go along with it. I got the recipe from allrecipes- but altered it a bit as I didn't have everything. I think Chicken Tikka is my new favorite chicken dish. And I learned that marinating chicken in yoghurt is THE BUSINESS. Why haven't I done that before?

Served over rice-it was a nice meal over all. But I wouldn't make the spinach again.
