Mrs. Meyers Lemon Verbena Daily Soap Review

I thought I would give the Zum bar soaps a break and decided to pick up something that is pretty easy to get across the US. I've seen Mrs. Meyers products in Target and many other grocery stores. I do use the hand sanitizer spray, which I like so I thought I would try out the soaps. I really wanted to try out the Basil soap but they were all out. Or they stopped carrying the Basil in my store. I'm not sure which.

Mrs. Meyers claims:
Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Lemon Verbena Daily Bar Soap is a scented bar soap that can be used for hands, body and bath. This vegetable-based soap is milled three times to make its lather rich and creamy.

Ingredients are at least 98% plant-derived, including water content. Made in USA.

When I first opened it, I was really excited about the scent. It smelled really fresh and green and clean.  But when I use it in the shower something shifts and I really hate the scent. It doesn't make shower time fun. I'm not sure exactly what it is about the scent I hate, I just know I really don't like it. I don't think it smells like Lemon Verbena, but at the same time I have no idea what Lemon Verbena even smells like.

Besides the scent, it lathers nice. Just a swipe will give you loads of lather and bubbles. But it doesn't rinse clean. I have an ashy look to my skin after I'm done showering. Soap scum is pretty bad on natural soaps and it's horrible with this soap.

The worst thing about the soap is that I had a bad reaction on my chest with this. I don't know if I was scrubbing to hard but it left my skin raw and when I went to spray perfume on later I got the burn of my life. Later on it scabbed over. It was not fun but it's clearing up now.

I still use the soap despite the reaction, I'm just a lot more careful with it around my neck/chest area.

For some reason I thought the soap would be more natural, but upon looking further there are definitely ingredients I don't like to see in my soap in this soap.

Ingredients:
Sodium Palmate,Sodium Cocoate,Water,Glycerin,Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil,Fragrance,Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil,Abies Alba (Fir) Leaf Oil,Cymbopogon Schoenanthus (Lemongrass) Oil,Sodium Chloride,Titanium Dioxide,Pentasodium Pentetate,Tetrasodium Etidronate

In conclusion, I didn't like it. And of course I would not recommend it.

Random:
I used up the other half of my braid bought to make a Raspberry Braid instead of Lemon and it came out so good! I mixed the cream cheese according to my taste and used my sisters homemade raspberry jam. I should be a baker....
