Plant Therapy Celery Seed Oil Essential Oil Review

I just finished a batch of cookie dough and now time to relax. And knock out a quick post. I'm still slowly going through my oils-because I have a ton. And managed to order even more. I have a problem. I was going through them all and decided to get this one out the collection- because celery seed oil is not an essential and one I probably won't have in my collection again.

Plant Therapy claims:

Cultivated for thousands of years, the popular aromatic vegetable Celery is no stranger! Both its fiber-packed stalks and seeds are often added to soups, salads, smoothies, and snacks for an added boost of vitamins and minerals. It is from the steam distillation of the tiny, flavorful seeds that the vibrant, tenacious essential oil is produced. With its warm, herbal, and slightly spicy aroma, Celery Seed Essential Oil provides wonderful support to an upset stomach, especially gut issues related to feelings of stress and nervousness. When used as part of a warm compress or massage blend, this oil can also relax discomfort associated with menstrual cramps and helps to warm and loosen tight, overworked muscles and joints. Diffuse or add to DIY cleaners to enjoy Celery Seed’s general wellness support and to experience a sense of well-being amid emotional tension.

We'll start with the scent. I'm not a fan. It smells like a musty old basement with celery in it. I tried making a room spray with it and it just does not smell pleasant. I have still been using it as a room spray- even though it smells bad just to get rid of it. I just use it in rooms I am not in.

It's supposed to be good for a stress related upset stomach. I don't have that problem much so couldn't test that way.

I don't usually get cramps- but I probably could have tested it Monday because I did start to have that uncomfortable feeling of almost cramps which I always get on the first day of my period but it wasn't too bad and I didn't realize celery seed oil is supposed to be good for that. I think there are better smelling oils that work well for cramps such as Lavender so I wouldn't necessarily buy this for that.

It's also supposed to be good for overworked muscles/joints. But since I don't like the scent I couldn't bring myself to use it on my skin.

Last use would be to diffuse it or use it for cleaning to promote well being amongst emotional tension. I would only expect it to do that if I liked the scent.

Overall, not an oil I enjoyed at all. Definitely not a repurchase. Next one I focus on will be be one I actually like. I have tiny bit left of this one...hopefully it will be gone by the end of the week.
