I think I am slowly learning that when there is a smaller size of a candle- I need to go with that. Maybe I've learned my lesson because I really wanted the larger size- if only for the jar and I bought the mini. I don't think I've had a cherry scented candle so I was intrigued. Would it be juicy and summery or something else? If I had read the description, I would know. But of course, I didn't.
Voluspa claims:
Embrace the power of seduction with Cherry Gloss. Smoked Cherry meets love me, love me not Rose Petals, combined with the confidence of Guaiac Wood and a hint of Leather. Strut the aromatic catwalk of dynamic Cherry Gloss.
It's something else. I read a few reviews that say it is comparable to Tom Ford Lost Cherry. I've never smelled that and the price on that perfume is more than I have ever spent so it's not even really on my radar. But when I first got this and smelled it unlit I was almost convinced that I NEED the perfume. Luckily I'm over that.
This is midnight cherry. Cherry After Dark. I didn't read the notes...but smoked cherry? It does smell like a bruised cherry. Subtly. There is Rose. And Leather. It's a more complex scent...but it doesn't smell as good lit as it does when it just sits there. I do like the scent though....but sometimes I don't like it as much as I thought I would. So I'm a bit conflicted. I like it but I don't think I would like it enough to rebuy. Although I did hear the scent is different in the glass jar. So maybe if I could get the refill I might.
Anyway the scent is definitely a night time scent...It reminds me of something from Harlem Candles- maybe the Josephine or Speak Easy candle. I enjoy Harlem more but the price on this is definitely better.
For the size the throw is pretty decent, it actually fills up the living room. And although it's small it does seem to burn quite a long time. This one says 25 hours. It is pricey for a small candle but I think it is a good way to sample Voluspa and see if you want the bigger size. I see more of these in my future rather than disappointing myself with the larger sizes over and over again.
