So I washed my hair out- I was getting tired of the puffy and frizzy straight hair and wanted to check for heat damage because that flat iron was HOT. I was burning my fingers on my hair-literally. And...no heat damage. All my coils just spring back as though it was never straightened. I'm happy about that because I was worried. It was probably the heat protectant. I am going to keep an eye on my ends to make sure they don't decide to split later and really try to keep them hydrated. But...today we talk luxury body wash.
Byredo claims:
Infuse your skin with the illustriously exotic Byredo Mojave Ghost Body Wash, a skincare formulation created with raw ingredients to moisturise and hydrate while coating the skin in an exquisite perfume.
The intense aroma of Byredo Mojave Ghost Body blooms upon application. After being massaged into a thick lather, the aroma of ambrette stimulates the senses, before the delicate floral notes of violet and magnolia take over and wash away the stresses of the day. Sandalwood is introduced for a slight musk, before a bewitching mix of crisp amber, chantilly musk and cedarwood give the body wash a delightfully aromatic finish.
High-quality raw ingredients are utilised in this formulation to create a body wash gentle enough for sensitive skin, with a resilient aroma that lasts after the lather is washed away. Although distinctly floral, this scent reacts with the natural notes of the skin and can amplify both masculine and feminine properties. Use alongside the perfume for a well-layered scent.

I've been hearing so much about the Byredo brand and I did review their most popular candle a few months back as well as visit their store in Paris the last timeI was there. I didn't end up buying anything. I randomly wanted to splurge on a body wash. I usually like the waste my "Nordstrom" bucks to make something a bit more affordable that really isn't. It's still expensive.
I was drawn to this because of the name. With a name like Mojave Ghost how could it not be amazing? I was expecting something smokey and dark. And...that's not this. I don't know how to describe it except to say it smells very familiar to me- but I know I have never used it before. It almost reminds me of something you might smell in a hotel. It smells heavy and old school to me. I don't really like it that much which is a bummer because of the price and the name.
I can't say I notice it lasting on my skin much when I get out the shower. I don't even think it lingers much around the bathroom either. It's medium strength.
I was a bit more disappointed with the actual formula. It is not concentrated so I am going through the small bottle super quickly but since I don't love it, doesn't make me that the sad.
It'supposed to be a gender neutral scent which seems to be all the rage but I typically don't like gender neutral scents and this was no exception. The perfume might be better since I have read that it's a softer scent reminiscent of a detergent- and it probably actually develops unlike the shower gel where the scent you get in the shower is just what you get.
I was a bit disappointed in the packing. Usually at this price point you get a fancy box that makes it worthy of gift giving. No box. They just plop the bottle in the shipping packaging. The bottle is OK. Mine has some rough plastic edging that's lifting off. Normally not something I would notice but for the price it shouldn't be doing that. Other than that I do like the styling of the bottle with the heavy black lid.
The ingredients are...not as good as the Jo Malone brand. Shower gels generally don't have the greatest of ingredients anyway though. At least it doesn't dry out my skin.
ingredients:
INGREDIENTS : AQUA (WATER), SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE, COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE, PARFUM (FRAGRANCE), PEG-7 GLYCERYL COCOATE, DECYL GLUCOSIDE, DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL, GLYCERIN, PPG-26-BUTETH-26, PEG-200 HYDROGENATED GLYCERYL PALMATE, PEG-40 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL, PEG-55 PROPYLENE GLYCOL OLEATE, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, SODIUM BENZOATE, BUTYL METHOXYDIBENZOYLMETHANE, CITRIC ACID, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, SODIUM GLUCONATE, ALPHA-ISOMETHYL IONONE
Overall, not for me. It's just not my type of scent. If I were closer to my family I would probably give the rest to someone I think might enjoy it more.
