It's already that time for another foodie post. Where is the time going?
Starting with the cookies. I have my go to cookie recipes but I do want to get some more in the rotation. Also I have some really old fancy Valrhona chocolate chips I need to use so I thought I would take this opportunity to use them. They weren't great because I think they are bit too bitter for cookies- but I'm glad I used a little more of them up. I think this cookie recipe is pretty good. I kinda cooked them a little too long (still good) and they are puffier than my usual recipe that can get a little flat. I thought they were good. I might try them in a bigger batch next time I need to make cookies for work or something. Also one good thing about this recipe-it gives a lot of tips which I already know and completely agree with for baking!
Next up, braised lamb. I love lamb. I've tried very few lamb recipes though. I do try to keep some on hand in the freezer though because it's so easy to defrost, season, and then cook up! I only eat them occassionally though because they are kinda pricey! But anyway this recipe was easy. I seasoned the lamb with rosemary, salt, and lots pepper. Sear them. Let them chill on the side while you made the sauce with onions, pan drippings, flour and more seasoning. So easy! And so good. I wasn't sure about it the first day but I really enjoyed the leftovers over the next two days. I would definitely make this again. Maybe trying the same thing with chicken? Hmm.
Almost forgot this recipe was from the Unofficial Harry Potter Book. It's just from the chapter for the Great Hall Dining Hall..which is a chapter I am really enjoying!
And that's all! Until the next post....
