Stevie Wonder

Stevie Wonder Biography

I'm about to be here all night. I'm a big fan of Stevie Wonder and I have a lot of favorite songs by him. He's an amazing performer, writer, artist, etc and on and on. The man is pure talent.

So let's just jump in:

Starting off with a slow, sad..yet beautiful song. I probably should have started with something else. If you read the comments you will read a lot of dedications...everyone is dedicating this one to someone.

Picking it up a little bit- we have I don't Know Why. This one has been on a lot of movies- I think that's where I first heard it. Love this one though.

Sounds like a Broadway song. Everyone and their mama covered this one but Stevie's version is my fave. Also the harmonica playing...love it!

They Won't Go When I Go seems to have many meanings. It's a haunting and sad song. But it's also a masterpiece.

Send this to your crush 😁

Picking it up a little bit. I love, love this one. I need to learn the lyrics.

Another one from the Hotter in July album. It was a great one! Such a beautiful song...I'm always shocked by just how many great songs Stevie wrote himself. Was this a karaoke favorite? I feel like it was.

Same album and another good one...

This man had hits across decades. This is one of my favorites!! I love this type of music.

Quintessential Stevie!

We aren't even half way through. This one has those key changes that just captivate me. And can we take a second to admire that range?

A little funky music.

One of my favorites- Living for the City.

I had to look up this one cause I wasn't sure he wrote it- and of course he did! I feel like there used to be a lot of Stevie Tributes and this song was always in the lineup. I actually think I know most of his songs from tributes. And movies.

This one is a movie staple for a reason. It always puts me in the best mood when I hear it!

I won't post whole vids for the Christmas classics, but these three are staples in my Christmas rotation. We have Someday At Christmas, Twinkle Twinkle Little Me, and What Christmas Means to Me.

I think we are approaching half way done. So many songs left. Another one that I absolutely love! Makes you want to be in love.

Then we have As. Another absolute classic. I'm always so surprised how much of lyrics I know.

I hear "Wild Wild West". What a sample. But getting back into the FUNK. Can't listen to this without bopping your head.

I've heard this one a billion times. You know, I don't think my parents played much Stevie....so I always wonder why I know so much of his music and it feels ingrained in my childhood. I listened to this one a lot- IDK where. But I love this one!

Pastime Paradise is one that I had never heard of...and was shocked to my core when I did. I thought Coolio's song was the original. My favorite thing is finding things like this. I had to put the performance with them and then Stevie's song. Top Five Stevie song for me.

The classics don't stop. Cause we have yet another one. I love this one!

Next up, Do I Do! This sounds very Michael Jackson to me. I think Michael may have sampled it or covered. But I'm too lazy to look it up... it's a good one though!

I forgot about That Girl. How could I? Issa bop!

I think of Lauryn Hill when I listen to this one. I always forget that this one came first. I appreciate both versions though.

This one reminds me of my Paw Paw. He had a piano and it would play demos and you could play along..and this one was one I loved and tried to play often. Also the harmonica- because my Paw Paw would play and always seemed to have an extra harmonica for you.

Stevie at the White House. Love it!

Another movie staple? For good reason!

Oooh, ooh, ooh this one sounds so lovely!

We've got another sad one....but like the others a beautiful song.

And we made it to the last one...we are ending on a happy song. I love this song too!

I just had to google to see if Stevie is still performing because I really would love to see him. I need to get on that and see when and how I  can make that happen.

Truly an absolute legend. I'm pretty sure of all the artist I have in my song list, I have the most songs by Stevie. I don't know how one would be unfamiliar with his music- but if somehow you are- give him a listen!
