I've been on the go most of the day..finally sitting down for a little bit before I have to get up and do a few more things. I've been meaning to do this review for a little while- I don't usually get motivated to until I feel the tube drying up. Which is what this one is starting to do now. I probably can squeeze a few more weeks out of it though.
Maybelline claims:
Total Temptation™ Washable Mascara builds lashes for full and soft volume.
Give in to Total Lash Temptation! Build on bold volume to create irresistibly soft, separated, and dense lashes coat after coat. Features a creamy and whipped formula infused with coconut extract.
I tend to like most Maybelline mascara. You can't really go wrong. The only thing that was surprising about this particular mascara- when did drugstore mascara start getting so expensive...it really seems to have jumped over the last couple of years.
This seems to work as well as any other by the brand. It does build volume pretty quickly and it's nice and dark. I don't think it does the best job at layering on itself unless you add the extra coats while dry.
It does give my lashes a little lift. So it's not heavy at all and doesn't seem to weigh down my lashes.
The brush is large. It's a traditional brush- which I prefer. It can get messy so I find I do need to be careful. It's not great for the bottom lashes.
It comes in nice packaging although the packaging can feel slightly cheap. Nothing too bad but I am really noticing the difference in packaging since I have used some more pricier brands. Overall though, you use it a few months then throw it in the recycle so it doesn't really matter too much.
It lasts all day. Doesn't flake off and irritate my eyes.
The only thing is it's not the easiest to remove. I like to use whatever face wash I am using at the end of the day to remove and this is so much more difficult to remove. I tend to have do use a specific eye makeup remover on a pad in order to get it off.
