Back again with another candle review. I'm on the second one in the set. Which came as a disaster. I was able to fix this one by digging out the wax, putting some in another candle with a new wick and then digging out the wick in the original and lighting that. Really kind of a disaster for something so expensive. But I did get a refund so I won't complain too much.
Replica claims:
Transform the home with the scent of Maison Margiela Replica Lazy Sunday Morning Candle, a candle with a fragrance as delicate and fresh as clean laundry. Burning for approximately 40 hours, it smells of freshly washed cotton and clean skin.
Crafted with high-quality wax, the fragrance of this candle has notes of rose, white musks and lily of the valley. Made in France, the candle comes in a white glass affixed with a fabric label.
Developed by the famous Paris-based fashion house founded by Martin Margiela, the candle is inspired by the memory of lounging about on a Sunday morning.
I didn't know what to expect with this scent but according to Reddit it has a lot of fans.
I'll just get straight to the point- it's not my vibe. It's floral and very powdery. I don't think the description fits-nor does it smell of Lazy Sunday Mornings. I don't think it has a freshly washed cotton scent-nor does it remind of clean skin.
Floral. And Powdery. That's all I really get.
I just don't think it's worth the price.
But if this is your vibe, I do have a cheaper recommendation that's just as powdery and slightly more floral. It's not a cheap candle. But it is cheaper and I think overall you get more for your money. It's also soy. I think if this is your kind of candle you would really like Harlem Candle Company Purple Love.
Other than that I think this candle performs well. It doesn't soot or smoke. The wick doesn't mushroom up. It burns slowly. It has great throw. It scents the room in just minutes.
I believe them to have paraffin which isn't my favorite wax but it works well in this candle.
Overall, it's not my type of scent. If you like powdery candles and you have the money to spend it might be worth it. As for me- I won't be repurchasing.
