I was so excited for this recipe. I decided that when I cook...I'm gonna cook, cook. And make a couple of things instead of just the one big thing and quick and easy sides. So I made some egg drop soup to go with it and warmed up some frozen egg rolls- I've always wanted to learn to make them from scratch. But that day wasn't the day.
The garlic noodles weren't bad. They just didn't have much flavor. I was ready for a garlicky, salty, sweet flavor. It was just sweet. Maybe I just used too many noodles? Or the soy sauce wasn't salty enough. IDK. I feel like it could be good with some adjusting. But the recipe as is wasn't that great- (although I left out the green onions, maybe I shouldn't have). Maybe it was my fault.
My egg drop soup was the bomb however. I didn't follow a recipe. The eggs didn't come out as ribbony or chunky as I wanted but it didn't affect the taste. I think it's because the heat wasn't turned up as high as it shoulda been.
And the frozen egg rolls...they were just OK. I picked them up at Real and prolly wouldn't buy them again but I did find some really good teriyaki ones from Aldi. I just haven't been lucky enough to find them since then.
Looks kind of bland-definitely not one of the better plates I've made. Oh well....
