I love Plant Therapy. I have so many of their essential oils. And I really want to branch out and try some of their other stuff...that aren't the essential oils. Except their body creams. For some reason they don't appeal to me. I've gotten a few samples now...and figured since I'll probably never actually purchase it, I'll just review the samples.
I hate to be the person that complains about a free sample. But it's so small its really hard to get a feel for the product. It doesn't even really moisturize one whole arm. Because I can't get a true feel on what it feels like to use all over..I don't think it's something I would ever be sold on.
Besides that...I've tried three different ones.
A few times I've tried out the Unscented. Which...it was forgettable. Honestly, I like my little pots of Shea Butter mixture I mix up. And nothing can beat pure Shea on your skin for some good old anti-aging. Unscented is nice though..because it's easy to scent it yourself with any of the essentials oils you like.
Then I tried the Grapefruit-Cardamom. I was exited for it..because Grapefruit is my favorite. I kind of smelled it..but forgot it 2 seconds after. Sample wasn't really enough to make me want to buy it or even remember it much.
The latest sample I got was the Pumpkin Pie. Which I'm not a Pumpkin fan. Not really. I try to make at least one pumpkin thing a year though. This right out the packet smelled exactly like Pumpkin filling. It had me. But then it became a little strong on the cinnamon. I love eating cinnamon but I don't love the way it smells unless it's a sugary cinnamon. This is a spicy cinnamon. Not for me.
I was determine to use the cream on my hands mostly. A little made it onto my forearms so I was able to judge it more accurately. It's a bit sticky. But settles after quite a while and then softens your skin. I mean..really softens and hydrates.
It has some decent ingredients. I like the high Shea Butter content. Argan Oil is pretty high on the list. It has some great stuff towards the bottom. And in the middle what I would consider filler
Water, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Glycerin, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (FCO), Glyceryl Stearate, Dicaprylyl Ether, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Sodium Polyacrylate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Cetearyl Glucoside, Xanthan Gum, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Panthenol, Sodium Phytate, Squalane, Sodium Hyaluronate, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Fruit Extract, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Fruit Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E)
It will run you almost $17 for 8 oz. That's almost The Body Shop Prices. But I never paid full price for those. I don't think it's a bad buy...it's just I'm much happier with my concoctions.
