Lush Roasting Chestnuts On An Open Fire Shower Gel Review

Wanna hear something crazy? Months ago I met this guy while I was out, well really I was walking back to my car and he walked with me. Somehow I gave him my number, I didn't actually think I was giving him my number though but I won't get into that.  It turned into texts, and attempted calls- I never picked up...barely texted back because I decided I just wasn't interested and don't wanna waste anyones time. I ended up blocking the number- only to get hit up from another number and when I blocked that, this guy texted from a THIRD number. I didn't respond to that, which led to a message on Facebook...I've met crazy people before, but I don't think I've come across someone that crazy 😳. It's almost like something you see in the movies and I'm not sure whether to laugh or be concerned...but anyway let's talk shower gel.

Christmas Shower Gel.

Lush claims:

Calm Winter Whipped Skin with this soothing oat milk and chestnut puree packed shower time treat.

This shower gel seems to get mixed reviews. I don't feel like at the time I was filling my cart with Lush Christmas stuff I saw a bunch of positive reviews. So I went with the small bottle. Also the fact that there was so much left didn't help sell it to me either. Which is a shame for me, because I ended up loving it. I think this might be my favorite shower gel from Lush! Why, oh why, did I not buy a huge bottle?

The texture is more of a shower cream with a lot of orange coloring. The run off water is really quite orange. If you don't like heavily colored stuff...you probably wouldn't like this, but I don't really mind. Especially since orange is my favorite color.

The gel itself is not the most lathery...and I think it's because it is the newer formula that is sulfate free. It's way less drying but also less lathery...but it still does the job.

The smell is what gets me. In the bottle it just smells like. Jergen's almond lotion or something. In the shower, it smells a bit like Lush Snowcake soap- which I'm not a fan of, Marzipan, and something grounded smoky and earthy. It's really an odd combination and one I didn't think went well together until about the 3rd time I used it. All of the sudden I just loved it. I had to go check the site to see if they were going to bring it back this year and nope. Not on the site, but I do see see other new Christmas gels.

The scent strength is not the strongest, maybe medium. It seems to linger and scent up the bathroom on some days and completely disappear other days.

It almost reminds me of the The Body Shop almond range, their almond body butter was the best almond scented anything ever. It was heavenly. This reminds me of it and would have paired well with it. All the best almond stuff gets discontinued...

Shower gels never typically have the best ingredients- unless they are Lush. Lush always incorporates fun, easily recognizable ingredients. I don't love all the ingredients, but I do like that they included chestnut puree. Not something you see everyday.

Ingredients:

Sodium Cocoampoacetate, Oatmilk, Cocomidopropyl Betaine, Fine Sea Salt, Propylene Glycol,Perfume, Chestnut Puree, Almond Essential Oil ,Cassia, Cinnamon Cassia Oil, Clary Sage Oil, Cedarwood Oil, Xanthum Gum, Titanium Dioxide, Guar Gum, Cinnamal, Eugenol, Linalool, color

Would I buy this again? YES. It is one of my favorite Lush Shower gels and I'm a little sad they didn't bring it back. Also..I love the name. I have not taken one shower using it where I didn't bust out in The classic Christmas song. It's christmas happiness in a bottle..although not reminiscent in anyway of chestnuts roasting on an open fire. Now I miss the Christmas markets....
