Voluspa Gilt Pomander and Hinoki Review

I'm about to burn right through this one so here I am reviewing it. The name was really a mystery to me. I had no idea what to expect when I saw the name. It's basically a holiday candle though.

Voluspa claims:

Notes of Golden Spiced Pomander, Holly Berries, Cardamom & Japanese Hinoki Bark

A velvety, smooth fusion to celebrate golden moments of the season- with Spiced Cardamom, Clove-studded Citrus Pomander, Holly Berries, calming Japanese Cedar Wood, Golden Amber and Vanilla Pods. An always memorable, meditative melange, whether to inspire tranquility and a journey of spiritual well-being or to share for luxe gift giving- it’s always as good as gold.

About the Product

Voluspa's unique coconut wax blend is hand-poured into a 4 oz. metal vessel adorned in Japonica pattern, and topped with a matching lid that keeps the candle dust-free when not in use. Our single wick allows you to enjoy fragrance throw for 25 hours. Our candles are hand-poured in the United States and feature our proprietary, clean-burning coconut wax blend and 100% natural wicks. Our products are free of phthalates, pesticides, parabens and sulfates and are never tested on animals. Up-cycle this best seller into a keepsake after the last burn.

I did learn what a pomander is though. It's a little ball for perfumes and herbs that was worn in the middle ages. Used to perfume the air and protect against infection. Pretty Cool.

I think they were known for being pretty spicy...and this is a spiced scent. I'm not a fan of cinnamon scents but I found this to be OK. If I had to describe the scent it smells like cranberry, apples,  spices like cinnamon, and evergreen/pine trees. Very Holiday. It really reminds me of the Bath and Body Works Leaves candle except this scent is way better. It also packs quite a punch for such a small candle. I have no problem smelling it.

It's definitely a living room/family room scent to me.

The candle itself is coconut wax and other veggie waxes. I'm not sure if it's paraffin free because it doesn't say on the website. It comes in the cutest tin and gives you 25 hours of burn time. I don't think I got quite that much though. I love the tins they comes in, packaging is an A+.

Overall, it's a great quality candle with a nice Holiday scent but I'm not big on these type of spicy holiday scents so it's not a repurchase for me. I prefer pine holiday scents. I would recommend it though if that's your jam, I just wouldn't purchase it again for myself.
