Aveda Nutri Plenish Deep Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Back to traditional shampoo and conditioner. I had a coupon and remember way back in the day trying one of the shampoo and conditioner samples from Aveda- it was when I had a relaxer but I remember being blown away with how moisturized it made my hair feel. So I figured I would give it a try on my natural

hair all these years later.

I just now realized they have two different moisture levels for the Nutri Plenish line and somehow I managed to pick up the deep moisture shampoo and the light moisture conditioner. Whoops.

So we will start with the conditioner. It doesn't strip my hair at all and really feels like it is moisturizing but it's low lather. You can get it going a bit but it's not going to be a super rich thick, keep going and going lather. Which is usually what dries out the hair. While I like that it doesn't dry out my hair, it doesn't really seem concentrated or like it spreads very well so I usually end up using more than I wanted- especially considering the price which is $36. Really  high for just a shampoo and I'm not sure it's worth all of that even though it does work well. I think it's probably better to splurge on the conditioner and save on the shampoo. I did buy it on a sale or with a coupon so it was still pricy but I did not pay full price.

The conditioner seems to go a little further and is rich and moisturizing feeling- without feeling heavy. It does help with detangling and helps my hair looking and feeling way more moisturized.

The scents is like a bubblegum (muted and more natural smelling) with some fresh scents that remind me of lemongrass and mint, although it doesn't smell as potent or in your face. A very mild and pleasant scent. It doesn't smell super artificial and it doesn't linger too much ( I kinda wish it did). It's a nice non-offensive spa scent.

Overall, I really like them. I don't like the price though...but I think it's a good choice if you are looking for real moisture without your hair feeling greasy or coated (no silicones!). I could see myself buying it again- mainly the conditioner. I've already bought another Aveda shampoo and conditioner set if that says anything.
