Jo Malone Red Roses Soap Review

I just woke up from a really good nap and since it's 1:30 in the a.m. and I don't really have anything else to do, figured I would go ahead and knock out a post. Today we have Jo Malone Red Roses soap. I like the Jo Malone...most of her products that I have tried, I liked. So I want to try more. I don't think they were remarkable just really likable. This might be one thing I thought I would really love and it didn't live up to what I thought it would.

Jo Malone claims:

Elevate your daily routine with satiny Red Roses Soap. With moringa oil and RSPO-certified palm oil, the formula creates a creamy lather, and cleanses and conditions skin. Leave skin scented with this romantic, floral fragrance.

I bought this when Jo Malone went on sale, and I do recommend waiting it out to save some money. I want to try more of her scents and the cheapest way to do that (still not cheap) is through the bar soaps.

I do love how she packages her soaps. It comes in a box with a ribbon and looks perfect for gift giving and makes it feel a bit more luxury than other soaps.

When I first got it and gave it a sniff I was blown away by just how much it smelled exactly like a rose. So realistic. I think it's probably the most realistic of any rose scent I have ever smelled. I love the scent of a fresh rose...but for some reason there is something I don't quite like about it when I use it in the shower. It just smells odd to me...but still very realistic. I can't quite put my finger on what it is that smells odd to me but I didn't enjoy it much and at that price- or any price really- I do want to enjoy it.

Thea soap performance is pretty great. It's a small bar but a swipe will you get some nice bubbly lather. It doesn't quite feel as lux as other luxury soaps such as Chanel No. 5 or Dior J'adore but there is a big price difference between this and those.

Ingredients:

Sodium Palmate, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Water\Aqua\Eau, Fragrance (Parfum), Methyl Gluceth-20, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ethylhexyl Hydroxystearate, Palm Acid, Palm Kernel Acid, Polyquaternium-7, Citronellol, Geraniol, Benzyl Benzoate, Linalool, Citral, Limonene, Hydroxycitronellal, Tocopherol, Bht, Citric Acid, Tetrasodium Edta, Tetrasodium Etidronate <ILN52054>

Overall, this soap wasn't for me, I would not purchase it again. But I might be tempted try the Red Roses scent in candle form or something else just to see if the scent is something I consistently don't like. I don't plan on doing that anytime soon though.
