Acqua Di Parma Colonia Eau De Cologne Review

I went back and forth between buying the sampler set or a full bottle. Mainly this is a unisex cologne but it seems to lean more masculine per the reviews. Also I don't tend to be a fan of unisex. I do also typically like to collect a bottle but I think I would rather wait to find one from the brand that I really love. So I bought the ten samples for around 30 Euro making each vial around three euro. Not the best price but I do like a sampler set and these seem to have quite a bit of sprays. Enough that I may do a full review on each of them....

Aqua Di Parma claims:

Acqua di Parma Colonia by Acqua di Parma is a Citrus fragrance for women and men. Acqua di Parma Colonia was launched in 1916.

Acqua di Parma started as a small factory in Parma. The first fragrance was created in 1916, Colonia, and at the beginning it was used to perfume gentlemen\'s handkerchiefs. Colonia became a real symbol of Italian chic among American and European celebrities in the pre-war (1930\'s) and post-war (1950\'s) years. Cary Grant and David Niven, Ava Gadner and Eva Turner, later joined by Audrey Hepburn, were among the passionate admirers of Colonia. From a small factory, Acqua di Parma grew into a prominent house with wide range distribution.

Acqua Di Parma Colonia was presented as a citrus fragrance. It was composed of lavender, rosemary, Sicilian citrus, Bulgarian rose, jasmine, amber and light musk.

The bottle is simple but elegant, charming in the Italian way.

Soothing, demanding and timeless. Colonia is the iconic Eau de Cologne by Acqua di Parma, which symbolizes the Italian identity in a harmonious citrus mixture that is loved by all.

Originally created in 1916, Colonia is the definition of a timeless classic, a fragrance that expresses sunny elegance on all occasions. As soon as Acqua di Parma's immediately recognizable golden fruit mixture of radiant lemon, Calabrian bergamot and orange releases its luminous notes into the air, the sparkling character of the perfume comes to life. In the aromatic heart of the fragrance, where lavender and a hint of rose combine harmoniously with aromatic rosemary, it is even enhanced. The warm and precious woody notes of vetiver, sandalwood and patchouli complete the basis of this iconic Eau de Cologne.

Colonia is delivered in the iconic Acqua di Parma bottle, an indispensable design object with Art Deco influences. The classic white labels reflect the timeless, universally popular character of the Eau de Cologne, while the cylindrical box is kept in our characteristic yellow tone. The coat of arms on the label underlines the long history of the Maison.

Acqua Di Parma is an Italian brand. I think this might be my very first Italian (made in Italy scent) so that was exciting to me. I expect a lot of the scents from the brand will be citrusy because Italy is known for Bergamot, Lemons, etc.

The scent is another oldie- it came out in 1916. That makes it the 2nd oldest scent I have tried. The first one being the 4711, which this is often compared to. I don't think they are that similar but they have the same vibe. The Acqua is very pricy in comparison with 4711 being much more affordable.

Celebs known for earring the fragrance are Cary Grant, Ava Gardner, and Audrey Hepburn.

When I first spray it, it's has that "cologne note". Then you really get a hit of lovely, lively, and bright citrus. I really like those notes...but as with all citrus notes, it's fleeting. They just don't stick around long enough., But you definitely get that lemon, bergamot, and lemon. A bit of Lavender. I'm not sure I get Rosemary or the other notes. Once that citrus goes, it dries down to something a little boring and kind old fashioned and generic. It kinda reminds me of Bergamot hair grease. It doesn't project, it just stays kinda static. It's not going to keep developing nor turn into something amazing. At least it doesn't on me.

And it doesn't last long either. Maybe 2-3 hours..if that.

A very summer fresh scent (that is surprisingly more unisex than I thought it would be) that might be good if you  don't mind re-applying. I can see how it could be old Hollywood stars vacation scent- somewhere in an Italian Villa along the coast.

But not worth the price for me . I'm glad that I didn't buy the full size and stuck with the sampler and I'm so excited to dig into the other scents.
