Maison Margiela Replica Jazz Club Candle Review

I'm too lazy to take better pictures but I recently bought the mini version of some Replica Candles. They came to me completely ruined. I'm supposed to be getting refunded for it but so far I haven't gotten anything.

I did the hard work of digging all the wax out and putting it in another jar with a wick so I could at least get some use out of it and not just chuck it into the trash. For the price of the product- I shouldn't have to do that. I don't think this has ever happened to me with any other candle either.

Replica is a new candle brand to me (I have used their perfumes before). I have been curious about the candles but they are pricy.

Replica claims:

The vibe of this reminds of something from Harlem Candle company although it doesn't necessarily smell like a scent I think they would do.

The year is 2013 and we are in Brooklyn. Picture it.

Actually I'm a bit surprised they chose a more recent time. I thought they would pick the height of Jazz. I've never been to a Jazz club but Jazz fest- yes. So I can't tell you if it smells like a Jazz Club.

But I do get a lot of sweetness. With some smokiness that would be the tobacco. It does say it smells of Rum. I don't think it does. Maybe some kind of Whiskey or a complex fruity smelling booze without being fruity. I think it smells like a fancy hotel. The more I burn it, the more I like it.

But I don't think that it will be very memorable and once it's gone I don't think I'll be able to recall the scent.

It is pretty strong for the size. I love when the small candles throw some scent...this scents my living room well and if I leave it burning long enough it will linger into the next day.

It is paraffin- which is not my favorite wax to burn. I prefer coconut wax or something that burns cleaner. It did burn fast but I did use my own wick. It might do better in it's original form.

I do think it's smells pretty unique....so maybe it might be worth a try. If you enjoy candles like Byredo Biblioteque, Harlem Candle Co Speakeasy (a fave!)  or sweet and smoky complex type of scents like I do-  I think you would enjoy it.

Even though it's not super memorable to me I do enjoy it and still might consider repurchasing a larger one if I found it on sale. It is just my vibe as far as candles are concerned. Perfect for a chilly fall night or a nice one to light up before curling up with a good book.
