Project Pan Update #28

 I really just did one of these but I started on panning a new palette and wanted to update before I use up some of the shades. And also an update on some of the other shades I have been using in my collection that I have also hit pan on- I love seeing eyeshadow get used up. Helps me justify buying more. Which I did ( couldn't resist a sale which $1 shadows!). I'll have to post an update on that soon.

Anyway, I'm rolling in my old Smashbox on the Rocks palette. The large one. I have already de-constructed the other one and got rid of the dud shades and gave the good shades to my sister. So now I'm working through the large one. I already dug out the colors I really didn't like and use them to color bath water, etc. There were quite a lot of too light unusable shades and too gray leaning deeper shades. I did also naturally pan about 5 shades already- two cream shades, a light brown, a dark brown, and an everyday satin type of shade. 

Now I am working through a shade called Ambient. It's an orangey gold shade. I actually really like this color, it layers well and just overall feels flattering to my eyes and complexion. Very easy to wear everyday shade that I have already hit pan in. Won't be long before I use it up. Excuse the look of the palette....

I also have baby pan in the light blue shade Peacock. I hit pan by trying to use it in blue looks. I don't really like it though. It might be one that I dig out and use to color bath water.

I've also still got the shade Puddin from the Too Faced Semi-Sweet. I use it in my eyebrows. I'm slowly but steadily using it up. Will likely have it for the next year. Could be longer.

Panned two shades from Anastasia's Modern Renaissance palette. I don't like Antique Bronze, but it might be easy to use up if I concentrated on it. And just hit pan on Cyprus Umber this week. It's not my favorite brown but when I'm rotating my matte dark browns I will reach for this one.

Hit pan on two shades from the original Two Faced Chocolate Bar- Haute Chocolate and Hazelnut. Mostly by matching them with another shade I was trying to use up. I've had this palette for years.. the shades have gotten a bit chunky so I think that's why they are used up easier than normal. They are perfect for layering with other shades.

This is MAC Mystery. It is my favorite brow shade but they don't make it anymore so I stopped using it. Maybe when I'm done with the Too Faced one I'll dig it out and force myself to use it....

This is another one I've had pan in for forever. It's the first green shade I thought was flattering on me. It's still in my go to green shadow look. I use it every now and again. Not sure I'll be able to find a dupe if I do end up using it up so I'm not eager to do so. 

I recently hit pan on the shade Ambush from Vice 2. It's another easy to use everyday brown shade that leans cooler. It wouldn't be hard to use up if I really wanted to.

The Smashbox Eye Primer is still in my "project pan". I'm hoping it will be gone in three months. And also adding this Senna liner in Amethyst. I just bought it really...I'm disappointed in the purple pigment...it's very grey and just underwhelming so I'll just use it use it up and get it out the collection.

Makeup I've Hit Pan On

If you are a makeup junkie then you are probably familiar with the sense of accomplishment that goes with hitting pan of your makeup. It seems like the silliest thing but I love finishing up products...and seeing the pan lets me know I'm getting close.

So here are the things in my collection I've hit pan on.

1. Covergirl Ebony Bronze- I wrote about how much I loved this yesterday. I seriously never thought I would hit pan on it (I don't bronze up every look!). It's just the teeniest amount of pan showing but it still counts! It will probably take me forever to use it up, but when it's done I plan on trying the Shea Moisture bronzers, if I can find it. 

2. Makeup Forever Peach/Orange Shade in Camouflage Palette- At one point I used this up every day....I don't use it as much because it has to be set and I'm a bit lazy. Plus, concealer is not part of my everyday look. I'm a conceal and go type of girl. I have a feeling I will get more use out of it when I go back to a powder foundation. 

3. L'oreal HIP Duo in Mischief- I haven't hit pan on this because I love it. On the contrary I hate it and tried to use it up to get rid of it. The shadow doesn't have much pigment and ends up just looking like ashy glitter on me. I do love the black matte shadow though. It's pigmented and very blendable. I need to try to use it up.

3. L'oreal Hip Duo in Showy- Unlike the other one, I haven't used this one up because I LOVE it. I've heard it's a dupe for MAC Parrot which I've never had. This is the shadow that made me believe I could wear bright shadow. I need to just go ahead and use it up. The navy color isn't too bad either...just a little dryer in comparison the other matte shades I have. 

4. Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder- The pan on this has been showing forever. I pretty much hate it but am determined to use it up! Only have a bit more to go then I'll be chucking it and good riddance!

5. Stila Cream Blush in Freesia- I'm not a big fan of this formula and I'm pretty excited to almost be down with it! I finished my NYX blush in Cocoa not too long ago so I've really been plowing through the blushes. Yay!

6. Too Faced Brow Envy Setting Wax- And last but not least, the setting wax in the Too Faced Brow Envy Kit. This isn't my favorite because it can be tad shiny looking but I use it every time I pick up the kit (which I don't love). As long as I blend it out good it's OK though.

Project Pan Update #3

It's about that time for another project pan update. And this time I'm actually early for it. I thought that around the third time I would be bored of it, but it's not as bad as I thought. Mostly because I hit pan on a couple things I want to share.

So let's get started.

1. L'oreal HIP Duo in Mischief- I'm pretty bored of trying to use this up, but I bust it out every now and again. I've used up a little more of it, but still have quite a bit more to go. I'm determined to use it though, maybe by April's update?

2. L'oreal HIP Duo in Showy- I touched this once. I mostly focus on using the black shade. 

3. Maybelline Pigment in Potent Purple- Again, guilty of only using this once. 

4. Makeup Forever Smoky Eye Mascara- Finished it up! Sad to see it go because it is an excellent mascara. But on the to next sample- Urban Decay Super Curl. I'll replace this with a Stila shadow in Copacabana. 

5. Too Faced Who's Your Poppy Blush- I hit major pan. I almost can't believe it. I was shocked to find the pan. And once I hit pan it seems like it will go quicker. At least for the center part. Not sure about the edges of the pan. Hopefully I can get that hole twice as big by the next time I update. 

6. Smashbox Lip Gloss in Pout- I just added this gloss last update- and already it's gone. I was so happy to see this one used up. I will be replacing it with Make Up Forever Shadow in yellow.

7. Revlon Colorstay Liner- Still using this one. Again, it's a bottomless pitt. 

And now.....I hit pan on two other shadows. I will be adding them both to my Project Pan project. 

Make Up Forever #2- I hate this eyeshadow. It cost the most, and its probably one of the worst performing yellow shadows ever. It has almost zero pigment and it's impossible to build up. It's discontinued now- and I would like to use it up. I use it very lightly as a setting powder. I only recently hit pan on it...and I can't wait to use it up. 

Stila Copacabana Eyeshadow- This came in an old palette. I'm not really a fan of Stila products. I used up the creme blush out of the palette and want to pan the whole thing-one day. For now I'll settle for using the satin white shade. I use it as a light powder wash before I apply shadow. It helps shadow stay on longer. I don't really like it as a shadow but I figure anyway I can use it up is good. Once I'm done with this I have a ton of other shades similar to this that I can try to use in a similar fashion. 

That's all I've got for now! I'll keep pressing on trying to use up some of this stuff that I otherwise never touch! 

Project Pan #37

 Quick post today because I am anxious to get back to watching Outlander. I've been rewatching it these last couple of months since I found out Bridgerton was delaye. I love Outlander. I especailly love, love, love me some Jamie Fraser but someone said Jamie is written too perfectly (he does have flaws but even those are perfect) and I can't unsee it now. I'll just keep right on enjoying his "perfection". And his hands- I think I might be weird for this but he really has perfect hands and I always hyperfocus on them when they are on the screen 😩😋😂 .

But back to Project Pan. It's been a minute since my last Project Pan update but I was determined to finish the Soft Ochre shade in the ABH  Modern Renaissance palette. And I did. I used it as a brow highlight. Not a ground breaking shade, just something that was there and that I could easily use up. Even if it did seem to take forever. 10 shades left to go! 

I did hit pan in a few other shades. I hit pan on my next focus shade- Burnt Orange. This became a go to for when I don't know what else to wear. I like it. It's a nice flattering orange but could be tad better quality. I think I'll be done with it soon, especially once I repress it. I hit pan on Red Ochre. I love wearing it  with with Burnt Orange which is why I used so much. I also hit pan on Love Letter which was surprisingly. I don't love that shadow but I kept reaching it whenever I wanted to add a dash of fuchsia. Hopefully that makes it easier to pan later when I get to it. 

I'm taking out the white pencil that was in the project. I use it to outline my brows before I Nair them so I'll just let that go as normal without trying to use it up. 

I am still working on the Too Faced Shadow Insurance. The container is starting to feel really empty but I probably still have months and months of use left. Shadow primers last forever!! 

And I am adding this Esum liner. I don't like the Esum brand that much- I think it's something to do with the founder. But I got this liner free when I bought my Viseart palettes. This liner only lasts a few hours in my waterline. I do like how soft and easy it goes on but I'm ready to use it up and get it out the collection. There's a sparkly beige type color on the other side that I have been ignoring but may start using as a base just to start using it up. Not sure yet...

And that's it for this update. I still don't have a massive amount of things but I like focusing on just a few in order to not get overwhelmed. 

Project Pan #44

 I'm just here to put off getting started on the process of straightening my hair. After this though I will definitely go ahead with getting started.

I had a few months of freedom but I decided to bring back panning. I bought a few new palettes and as always I want more and more but I can't justify buying more unless I am getting use out of a using up my collection. 

I'll start with an update on all the shades I have hit pan on. It's been awhile since I have done one...last one was a couple years ago. This time around I have new colors I have hit pan on. 

Here's what I have:

Urban Decay Ambush- This shade is in the VICE 2. I hit pan on it while panning another shade. It just was a good one to layer over gold shades I was trying to use up. It would be an easy one to pan if I set my mind to it...but I'm not ready to wear bronze everyday so it will stay like this for now. 

Urban Decay Junkshow- I loved wearing this one at some point but it does fade really badly. The texture is very odd as well and it takes a lot to layer. I do like the shade though so...pan. It's from VICE LTD.

Urban Decay Brokedown- This is from VICE 3. It has the teensiest amount of pan. A very easy everyday color. I thought about panning this one as well because it would be easy but I don't want to use up the go-to shade in the palette quite yet. 

Too Faced Semi-Sweet- This is the perfect barely their shadow color and I love the texture and how it pairs with all the colors in the Chocolate Bar palette. I would miss this when it's gone but it would be very easy to add to a project. 

Too Faced 1998 and 525 Market- 1998 used to be a favorite but I am realizing that the pigmentation isn't that great and the glitters drive me crazy. I also have a similar enough color from Sugarpill that is a lot better quality so I am currently panning it. I probably won't do an update until it's actually gone! 525 Market is unremarkable..I used it to layer with another shade I was panning a couple years ago and used up a decent amount.

MAC Mystery and Random Smashbox Shade- I used to love Mystery in the brows but I can't replace it so I save it. But it's in my "travel palette". I may never use it up! Then we have a random smash box shade...I might add it after I use up another couple of shades I have in mind to actively pan. 

I also have a NARS Bronzer that is on its last legs. I forgot to take a pic but I do want to use it up at least in the next three months. So I am adding that to the project. 

I did finish up one or two shades outside of the project- I think it was Too Faced Haute Chocolate. I mostly used up Hazelnut but the quality of it took a nosedive so I did end up tossing it. 

And I am going to add this eye primer to the project. It seems like it only has a little left but will probably keep going another couple of months. Eye primers take forever to use up! 

And that's all! I am going to go play in make up and then go ahead and get started on my hair finally.

Project Pan #23

 I'm having the most relaxing Sunday ever. Well, in between working out etc. I always tend to pick up working out more in the summer- IDK why. Summers are for lazing about. 

I don't truly do a project pan. Or really keep track of progress. I just update here and there. 

I've been working my way through the Too Faced Semi-Sweet palette. I want to get it out of my collection...as least in the next year. I might not finish it but I'm going to try. 

Some of the shades I dug out and threw away...because I hate them. Like the mattes with glitter. Some of them broke when I dropped the palette. I dropped most of Licorice- but I did use up a lot off it as a liner. Its gone now, which is surprising because before I told myself I would never pan another black shadow but they aren't so bad. I really liked that shade unlike most of the other palette. I tried to use Blueberry Swirl but the quality on that one is just terrible. I used half of it before I just decided to dig it out. Hit pan on Truffled. I used to think I really liked that shade but...ehh. May be the primer but it goes cool toned on me despite being a warm toned shadow. Expanded Peanut Butter. The quality on it kinda sucks but when a barely there orange is needed I can make it work. Also hit pan on Mousse. This shade barely shows up on me. Could prolly use it up pretty quickly as a face powder. And really formed a dip in the Caramel shade (can probably double as a highlighter). I've really been focusing on using up Frosting- it's not my favorite red bronze color so I like layering it with golds (or any light shimmery color). It changes it enough so that wearing it everyday doesn't become too boring. 

NYX Africa Eyeshadow- I've been wearing this as blush..I think it will be done by the end of the week. I hit pan a few weeks back and re-pressed it. It will be nice to finish up another shadow. Might bring in another single shadow to try to use up but IDK yet. 

And I haven't touched the Smashbox palette so no update on that.

Project Pan

Have you heard of Pan that Palette? It's basically a challenge that was going around where people were picking a palette and using up the whole thing. I have seen pictures of a completely used up Urban Decay Naked palette. It's cool, but it takes a lot of patience. And I don't have it. Plus I don't think I could stand to use up my Naked palette.

But I do want to use up a few things in my collection. Mostly older stuff that I don't really like and want to get rid of so I can make room for new stuff. One day. 

I've already made a little bit of progress. I hadn't officially started though. I'm not giving myself a timeline. I just want to use these products fairly often enough to finish them up. It's not a lot of products, I don't want to get overwhelmed. Because that can happen, and I would end up using nothing up.

It's crazy that this is a challenge I'm starting. Back in the day when I barely had any makeup it was super easy for me to use up a shadow. The first mini palette I used up was Coffee Shop from Covergirl in high school.I used up every shade. I wish I could remember more about how I actually applied them though. Hopefully I wasn't looking to crazy! Anyway, that was just the first one I went through. I eventually used up a Wet N' Wild palette, a couple from L'oreal Hip, a Maybelline single, a L'oreal single. Can't believe I remember all of that.

Anyway, these are some of the products I want to use up.

1, L'oreal Duo in Mischief- This is one of my least favorite duo's from L'oreal. The matte black is ok. It's easy to blend for the most part and works nice to darken up a smoky eye. Just don't use it as a crease shade because it will fade. And it's not the blackest black. It's very muted. The gold side is the one I hate. It's so lackluster. And fades easily. I really hate it. So I'm working on using it up.

I already have some progress since about a month ago. The black is dipping in quite a bit and I think I should hit pan pretty soon.

2, L'oreal Duo in Showy- I really only want to use up the navy matte part. I don't really like that color. It has OK pigment but it can fade to a gray blue depending how I use it. That's with primer! After I'm done with the navy side I'm going to work on the other side. It's a favorite of mine and I never want to finish it but I really need to. I could buy another but I don't want the matte blue. If they sold it separately I would probably buy it. As you can see I've hit pan now on the navy blue.

3. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Potent Purple- This is a nice smoky purple shade. At least on me. But it doesn't wear that well. It fades, it's streaky, and it creases. Even with primer, or at least the primer I use it with. I have used up quite a bit but it's going to take me some time to use it up. I want to use it at least once a week until it's finally finished.

4. Makeup Forever Smokey Extravagant Mascara Sample- I love this mascara! But it's time to use it up so I can move on to the other sample I have. I'll be sad when I do use it up.

5. Too Faced Who's Your Poppy Blush- I got this awhile back in a Too Faced Palette I have. I need to review it, but long story short, the color doesn't show up on my skin. Only the gold shimmer. So I use it as a highlighter, but I have to be careful to be light-handed or it can be too glittery. There's a little dip in it but I have a lot of products to go. I just want to hit pan on it at least.

6. Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser- This does a whole lot of nothing for my skin. I've been using it faithfully to try and use it up. I think I'm pretty close. I'm just tired of having it in my collection so it's time to use it up!

7. Revlon Colorstay Liner- I'm ready for a new liquid liner. I never liked this one. It pretty much seems like a bottomless pit of black liner.
